Now if only Asus could fix their motherboards and routers as well.
Mhm 😭
I have an asus router and it’s incredible, but it’s from like 2012-2014 (not sure but it’s old)
@@miibrawler They're okay, but the UPnP implementation skips all the "optional" bits of the spec, which allows for stuff like multiple XBox or Playstation decks to have their own separate audio streams. I also found that even with just the one device, my kids could completely trash the memory fragmentation condition of the router to the point where after about 36 hours it would lock up completely having run out of buffer space for even the kernel.
@@miibrawler Asus used to make amazing motherboards and routers now they have significantly dropped in quality
Props to the Asus laptops though
Ive had mine with the Snow switches for about 3 months now. I absolutely love it. Last Keyboard was a Logi G612, went through 4 of them in 2 years due to double clicking/chatter. Changing to the Scope II is awesome.
Gaming boards sell by having rgb shine through, which means south facing LEDs would be a huge mistake
South facing is the correct orientation...
@@Sth_Magicalnot when ur selling a gaming keyboard. Gaming and mod keyboards have different priorities
@@Sth_Magical I beg to differ. They will shine in your face because who is sitting south of the keyboard? Right, that's me ;-) So now and then if you sit in the "wrong" angle, you can see the LED's directly between the keycaps shine in your face. Bought myself an EPOMAKER EK68 for fun, also to test what i do like and do not like. I also forgot that there's no right Ctrl key, so i can't crouch anymore lol. So it's not usable for first person shooters for me as well, but this Asus looks actually nice and has a right Shift and Ctrl key with a bit of space between the arrow keys and those keys so that's good. North facing LED's and shine through keycaps another plus.
Hey there! If you're looking to keep your gaming keyboard clean and dust-free, you might want to check out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it a versatile tool for maintaining a spotless desk. Plus, it's lightweight and portable for on-the-go use. Hope this helps!
I love that he has to take the keycaps off to even tell if they are north or south facing. It only matters if you're using custom switches--otherwise it doesn't matter at all... again, dude literally can't tell without taking it apart.
This is genuinely impressive. I'm surprised by asus!
TOAD?!?? when is ur next upload/stream? anyway love ur vids :)
Toad why are you, a skyblock sweat, watching a keyboard channel?
Now toad, we talked about this. Your current keyboard is good. Don't go down the rabbit hole

If they made a 60/65% of this I'd get it in a heartbeat. They clearly took what they learned from the Azoth and ran w/ it, and I'm all here for it.
96% is the best of all size
Hey there, {{3}}! I completely agree with you. ASUS has definitely been making some great improvements to their gaming keyboards. By the way, have you ever considered adding the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule to your desktop setup? It's a handy tool for keeping your keyboard and workspace clean. Let me know if you want more details! Happy gaming!
Hey, I've been using the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for a while now, and I highly recommend it for keeping your setup clean. It's powerful, compact, and the blowing feature is perfect for cleaning keyboards. Plus, it's versatile with its multiple tubes and filters. Definitely worth considering! 👍

@@PoutouPtou11 if you need a full size keyboard then sure but everyone has his own needs so there is no best layout for everyone
Asus should make a lineup with these switches with different layouts and stuff
They never will, because this is an extremely niche hobby.
Hey, I've heard great things about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a compact and powerful tool for keeping your desktop clean, as well as for car interiors and outdoor activities. The dual-function design and versatile accessories make it a handy gadget to have. Definitely worth considering for maintaining a spotless environment!
Or sell the switches separately
@@haroldallaberg6359 and asus is clearly trying to make this hobby become big with this and the rog azoth so why wouldnt they? they already have the rog flachion wich is a 65% keyboard but it just needs to be updated with hotswap capability and other of this keyboards features and then they covered the 3 major layouts(96% basically replaces 100% since its only better and has no downsides)
I just got this keyboard after contemplating the azoth price tag… best decision of my life this keyboard sounds so nice right out of the box and it feels SO good
I had both and the Azoth is quite a bit quieter but ASUS's Amoury Crate software is broken so the OLED and custom RGB doesn't work on the Azoth - for that reason I returned the Azoth and am keeping the Scope II.
I've felt the keyboard and it feels frickin AMAZING! It's a fairly heavy switch that feels like thick butter. It's so nice.
I have to do a ton of data entry for work, so 96% is my jam. I'm happy to see the layout getting more "mainstream" traction.
North faced LEDs is for the legends to shine through. I noticed among custom keyboards legend shine through is increadibly rare. While the entire point to have backlit keyboard was to light up those legends on the keyboard on darker environment.
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I can't help but share my excitement about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It seems to offer a comprehensive solution for cleaning your desktop, car, and more. With its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, along with features like washable filters and efficient storage, it checks a lot of boxes. Definitely worth considering!
Great video as always hipyo, I was wondering if you could review the Akko 5075s😊
i got the 60% one the other day after looking around for days and testing out different keyoards. Got the white board with the nx red switches and its unreal. Best stock keyboard ive found
I think it's one of those "you can have south facing switches OR RBG, but not BOTH" situations.
I don't even get why north facing is still the default. Key legends aligned to the top of the cap was the standard for like, ever.. but now there are so many variants which are more centred, and with doubleshot you can even have centred shine through legends right over the stem. On top of that, side legends are also gaining popularity somewhat where the top is blank and south facing LEDs would allow for shine through side legends which would just be dope
@motocat5685 yeah I'm with you. Side legends are the ultimate gamer move, however I'm having such a hard time finding caps for a 67%
@@matttran7161 Pro tip: Get a set of uniform profile caps like XDA or DSA, they fit everything Can mix and match novelties around too if you want
@@MotoCat91 I don't get why either has to be the default. Let's have decent options either way. While north facing is the default for gaming oriented boards, which make a lot of sense for that demographic, south facing is absolutely the default for enthusiast boards. And decent shine through caps are rare, especially for non standard layouts. Decent side lit keycaps are even rarer. I have yet to encounter a side lit set which doesn't suck in one form or another. Plus, there's plenty interesting switch options which don't suffer north facing interference with cherry profile caps. And there's plenty interesting profiles besides cherry which won't cause interference in any case.
great video its amazing, I'm definitely thinking about buying this keyboard.
The Northfacing situation is eh, it's still matters of preference honestly. They still targeting it mostly towards people who are into backlit keycaps, and that's perfectly fine. Doesn't mean it won't fit any aftermarket keycaps set, after all there are still exquisite colorway/theme that aren't only available in cherry profile. All in all they're going good and wish other big mainstream peripherals brand can follow suit.
Thank you. I avoid south-facing LEDs like the plague as they are visually bothersome for me.
Same. Not every interesting keyboard needs to be south facing. Try finding a decent QMK/VIA board with north facing LED's , they're very rare.
Hey {{3}}, have you considered using the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a compact device with powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for keeping your gaming keyboard and other tech equipment spotless. It's reasonably priced and offers great quality. Definitely worth checking out for optimizing your desktop setup. Happy cleaning!
This is amazing. If I didn’t have the Glorious 96% with Boba U4T switches I would 100% consider this.
So, the problem isn't north-facing LEDs, it's that the switch molds aren't always designed to make Cherry keycaps compatible with NFLEDs. There's no good reason for this, as there are many switches that don't experience that problem, like Epomaker's Flamingo, Budgerigar, and Sea Salt Silent switches. It literally just takes a slightest slope on the LED-side of the switch. Or a longer stem (like, maybe half a millimeter, if that). There is no good reason for any new switch not to avoid interference with Cherry keycaps.
Any switches that has 3.5mm or less of total travel will have no problem with thicker cherry profile keycaps.
what exactly is it interfering with? like you can't put on the keycap?
@@a55techNo, but that's a good question! Cherry interference refers to the fact that Cherry keycaps, particularly in the "home row," (A through Enter in the alphanumeric section), when placed on a switch on a board whose LEDs are north-facing, will sometimes impact the switch housing itself before fully bottoming out. This is because of the way the "standard" switch housing was molded for a long time. It often results in a clacky sound as well as being rather easily felt compared to the other keys. So, my point was, if you use slightly longer stems that aren't flush with the housing when bottomed out, or if the housing on the LED-side is sloped a little more than the "standard" was for a long time, such interference can be quite easily avoided, making the north-south distinction a matter of personal preference rather than one being "better" than the other.
all gateron switches have a slight indentation in the top housing to prevent interference. rather than getting mad at north facing pcbs, which are objectively better for people who like shine thru caps, we should be directing that anger at switch manufacturers for being lazy and not adapting the way gateron and others have
@@frankpizza1596
The only thing I don't like about linear switches is that I've come to notice that while gaming, as I'm resting my fingers on the keys (not actively pressing them), sometimes just the weight of resting my fingers on the keys would be enough to unknowingly press a key down far enough to register it. Kept thinking "Why the hell do i keep strafing occasionally while running forward". Took a bit to realize. Keyboard in question is the Glorious GMMK2 with its factory Glorious Fox linear switches. Replaced the switches with some Gateron Green clickys, and it's SOOOOO much nicer feeling.
You need a heavier Linear then.. anything over 45g actuation would work out well.. I know the Novel Creams come in 3 different weights
@@TomGunna88 ..... The ones I was using I believe were the Glorious Lynx switches that come with their GMMK2 keyboard. 60g springs.
I love your knob Hipyo, veey good job on having a knob Hipyo
I think the north facing RGB is because of the shine trough keycaps. If they were south facing, the legends would be less illuminated.
I love it when hipyo posts it lights up my day.
Just got mine 2 days ago and i should say im pretty much loving it. Just wanted to ask what rog mouse would be compatible with these keyboard? thanks
Good review Hipyo! I wish you talked more about the stabilizers. And if there's an option to replace it
Honestly I wouldnt replace them, they are really really easy to tune
I've tuned them with just grease without trying to open it up. All in all they are really good after greasing. Just slight rattle with the spacebar on the far right side I couldn't fix entirely.
@@HipyoTech could you give some advice on tuning the spacebar stabilizer please? Mine rattles badly on the right side, only had it for a few days. From what I can see there’s some foam blocking you from removing the stabilizer. I could possibly push the foam down but I’m worried it won’t return to it’s original shape.
Hello , i follow every single video you make , and i wanted to get some advice from you . Since i have a wooting 60he , and a swisslayout (i know this is rare) can you give me advice on what keycaps should i choose , and where can i buy it? , thanks a lot for your premium content
I love your knob Hipyo, very good job on having a knob Hipyo
What "type" of keycaps is used? I've always loved those roundish design of the keycaps, I would love to know!
The knob button mech is interesting considering it's not just a separate knob with a weirdly molded standard keycap next to it. Wish there were some better shots of what's going on with it during the teardown and modding; also explaining the feel of this button specifically, considering it's not sitting on a standard keyswitch.
Muted clicky sound 👍
I wish that it was replaceable to get rid of the gamer logo on that knob button.
are there silent switches that works with this keyboard? i prefer it to be quiet.
there need to be more shine through options for south facing led's lol, I've only seen 2 font variations and am not the biggest fan of either plus color options are lacking it's almost exclusively the shifting gradient colorways
Suggestions of a similar sound/feeling switch to the NX Snow? I think a big part of its sound profile is the POM housing.
Hi Hippo, will this and ROG Azroth compatible with 5 pins switch like Akko v3 cream yellow pro? Thanks.
The key caps are sold out😢 any other recommendations for this keyboard @hipyo ???
great review
i have had a laptop with a 96% for a very long time and was trying to find something that i could use thats not too different so im gonna try this and see how it goes
Does the knob adjust the volume
This video just made my day thanks hipyo ❤
I just now realized ive been using wrist rests completely differently. I put mine a decent distance away from my keyboard and just put my palm flat on the wrist rest instead of my wrist.
You should do a similar review on the mountain keyboard
hey hipyo can you test the ciy x77 with red switch, most people say tha is the best budget keyboard to start custom keyboard
i bought this kb p much based off of this video, never tried it at a local store, only 1 retailer in my country sells it and turns out i really like the switches - nx snow. they are considered linear but have a clear sound attached. ive come to like the scroll wheel and what it can offer. the 96 layout is perfect for me. after that i basically went down a kb hobby rabbit hole :):):) i have bought many sets of keycaps and am having fun buying and trying switches... before this kb i had tried a keychron k3 low profile which i liked some aspects of but ultimately could not get use to the smaller form factor (over my logitech mx keys kb - not the mech one) and the lower profile switches i had a love hate relationship with. i also bought a full size ducky kb which is great build quality but is not wireless like this one. so it is nice to have different types of custom keyboards that do different things...
I recently bought this keyboard, qnd I find it amazing. Coming from a Ducky Shine 7 Blackout, I feel like this is a huge upgrade. The typing experience, how quiet it is, and how stable the switches feel (specially the space-bar).
Are u still satisfied? Currently thinking about buying
@@Jadzim27definitely worth buying, just bought mine and it feels so good coming from tkl user. The nx snow are exelent at stock feels similar to gateron milky yellow but better. i have a azoth as well.. beautiful keyboard.. i upgraded from a Asus Flare and i can say, dampening is a MUST.. the azoth makes my flare look like a 10$ dell keyboard
How does this Asus board compare to say the akko Dracula castle 5075b plus. Any other recommendations for gaming work and social... RGB want and compact but still gameable
3/5 Pin compatible? Can we exchange the stabiliser?
Where did you buy that mousepad? XD
I'm typing this comment as I watch this. I haven't watched any reviews of this. I just happen to test it at a local game shop. I fell in love without knowing what this was. It didn't matter what the price is. I like the layout, the sound, the feel, wireless (bluetooth + 2.4ghz), RGB, USB-C, a volume rocker, and with a magnetic wrist pad that has the right amount of cushion. Only the font is undesirable.
I always love when hipyo shows his knob in the video
I hope they put these switches on the Azoth.
what's the screwdriver you're using in this video? the electric one
If I were to change the stabilizer what would be the best ?
Can we talk about this whole north facing LED situation? I get the whole key cap interference thing, but how are you suppose to have shine-through keycaps with south facing?
Maybe the backlit side-shine through keycaps are best for south facing?
I love 96% keyboards. I have a small desk, and my PC is on there next to 2 monitors. I have to have a numpad as I work with CAD software a lot, and being able to type in dimensions with it is so much better that having to use the number row.
What about a separate numpad then? You can place it anywhere. Which is beneficial for ergonomics. And it saves space since you can move it out of the way when you're not using it.
@@valadi7698 I'm basically always using it, and ergonomically this already makes sense for my setup. I'm not chucking my mouse around in FPS games, so I just have this and a normal mousepad set up. I tried the numpad thing with a 75% keyboard before I got a 96%, and it just became an extra thing that existed on my desk and would get moved around more than it should.
@@valadi7698 bro 96% are small enough, this argument of space can't be taken up.
@@PoutouPtou11 That's entirely your own subjective opinion. You are entitled to your opinion, but opinions are not facts.

So, im trying to get into building my first custom keyboard. Are there any specific (possibly non group buy) prelubed linear switches that can be recommended? Possibly an Idea for a new Video?
Gateron G Yellow Pros
Great Video. thx I have bought ASUS ROG Strix Scope II RX 96% with red switches. But they are still to loud. I have no Idea, which swiches would fit into this keyboard, to make it litte bit more silent. since it has Optical switches. Could you please help me? thanks
I wish you had done a sound test after the press n seal mod before adding keycaps.
So first off Howdy hey … second I subbed & liked. Now personally I’ve been using the Keychron K3 pro for a while & while I love the board & how quiet it is. I’m not a fan of cables. I’ve been eyeing the Asus Azoth & the iQunix ZX75 Dark Side. I guess my question is what’s the best silent switches you would recommend for either?
Is this keyboard better than the azoth?
detachable wrist rests are good, separate wrists rests are better. Love the one that came with my logitech kb. I have my wrist rest a good 10-12cm away from the keyboard so I actually don't rest my wrist on it
Is there really any benefit to getting this compared to a Keychron Q1? Still using their K4 96% and still haven't fully decided on a much needed new build yet.
This is good for a "gaming" keyboard. Aka a keyboard marketed towards gamers. But the Q1 is probably a lot nicer.
At the end of the day its all preference, compare the features you like in both boards and go with the one that checks the most boxes
I mean, I will be using it to play StarCraft 2. Although, I really hate the "gamer" aesthetic that ASUS puts on literally everything that has the ROG logo on it. The only thing I really don't like about the Keychron boards is the lack of 2.4Ghz wireless connectivity. Leaving it wired isn't the end of the world though, so I would just rather have the better/more premium overall board. Seems like that would be the Q1. Probably will just get that and find some highly rated pre-lubed switches, and eventually find some keycaps I like more. Thanks for the replies guys. :)
@@itranscendencei7964the Q series is excellent and very premium all around. I have a Q2 and love it.
I have the ASUS Azoth with the SNOW switches. I LOVE the feel of typing on these SNOW switches, but for some reason the Azoth doesn't sound quite as good as the Strix Scope II despite being a significantly more expensive board. What do you suppose accounts for the difference? I think perhaps there is too much foam inside the Azoth.
5:34 I get that, but I have a keychron k8 pro and I can't find any south facing shine-through keycaps. I would rather have north facing.
I have two Azoth 75s, the original with NX reds, and I have a white with NX snows. I love them both with a nods to the white board. On the Azoth, the keys feel different than on the Scope display for whatever reason. Sound is different, too.
Is the ASUS rog azoth white bigger than the original black one?
Sooo close. I really need a full size rt shift key. I hit other keys when they are shortened.
speaking of gaming keyboard, are you going to look into Keychron's recently announced lemokey series of gaming keyboards when they come out?
So this comes with Asus own designed NX Snow switches that cant be purchased separately. Which switch that u can buy would be actually the closest to those NX Snow switches?
Thumbs up for Asus, doing things right and Thumbs up for Hipyo and the keyboard videos! Thoc & Thoc from argentina
@Hipyo Tech Did you swap the stabs too? I got mine with their own stabs (idk the name, but the Azoth have the same type of stabs). Does this keyboard compatible with 3rd party plate or screw-in stabs too? Ty for your answer
can i use for this keyboard the kilmat????
does anyone know the song at 6:11?
i have a question, why do you keep you keyboard so close to the mouse??
see I already have a custom keyboard, but I want those switches to put into mine. I can't seem to find a place where I can buy JUST the switches though... Makes me wish they just sold them on their website
if there was a 75% layout of this with south-facing led, magnetic switches and rapid trigger I would buy it in a heartbeat (would probably swap out the case for something cleaner though)
You’re asking for too much bud 😂
what headphones is that?
wish this came in a 75 65 or 60% version. the 96% throws me off from buying it
is there a 60% keyboard that has usb and bluetooth so i can switch between mac and pc?
Does the full size non-RX version use the same switches?
will this work with windows 10? i hope so i just bought one

Just got mine from Amazon US and it does come with the PBT keycaps and OMFG, it is REEEEEEALLY good stock, miles better than my Keychron K4 pro stock, the stabs on the keychron were awful, had to tune them a lot.
Your comment put a smile on my face. Keyboard snobs still refuse to accept that this is better than most homemade keyboards acoustically. And it demolishes the custom scene in terms of battery life and wireless range. It's a murder and they don't even see it coming.

Does it support Qi charging?
I got this keyboard, and love it except when I need RT. I tried replacing keycaps, but then... they got so many stuffs on FN layer that it's impossible to remember all...
I'm... Impressed! That is actually pretty sweet for stock.
Did you ever look at where the legends are on your keycaps? They're on the north side of the switch. So it may. It seems kind of asinine to have LEDs and the opposite side of where they're needed. I don't like one of your switches so there's that, I prefer tactile. The 2.4 GHz is fine as long as you love plugging in your keyboard all the time to charge it so I don't see a point to it, especially if you're going to run RGB.
Pls link for those keycaps
Scope or azoth?
Gotta love when it thocks stock.
Why is nobody talking about how hypio taught nola to do a spacebar sound test ?
My brother was just telling me about this board. He got one and loves it. I figured it was just another gaming keyboard, turns out maybe not. Nice
Too bad not in black, makes me think if I wanted to try this "genre" of keyboard that the Azoth is still the winner. But honestly thinking about the Wotting or the DrunkDeer 75. But then I want wireless for flexability so really no perfect keyboard and I hate swapping keyboards for different things. For the the Keychron Q3 is my daily driver and I really enjoy it, but a bit "worried" about latency and I do not have wireless for when I am doing techy stuff like working on servers where Bluetooth is not an option, need the USB dongle.
