    • I actually prefer not seeing the finished project in the thumbnail because I like surprises and it feels like reading the last page of a book first. However, that said, the thumbnail does make it easier to find the video if I get interrupted and have to come back later to finish watching. I am also probably in a little bitty minority, so it's nothing I would ever have a genuine complaint about. There are much bigger and more important things on my plate to care about than a video thumbnail! I will watch Jim's videos with a project photo, a blank thumbnail, a picture of a goat, or a boat...I will watch them here or there, I will watch them anywhere! 😂

I think different types of wood may give it a tiffany glass feel. I can see the pearlescence all over that blue, I call it flash in my gemstones and this is definitely flashy! You could use mosquito netting so you would be able to have enough light to turn and all you have to do is shake it out. Rig it up like a shower enclosure. Very pretty project! It would look nice in the orange tones with the pearl as well.

I love that blue, for one thing, a beautiful royal blue, and of course you can't beat cherry wood. It really turned out nice! Tell your wife that I think she had a great idea! Thank you, Jim, I really enjoy watching you turn while sipping my morning coffee on Fridays!❣

  • Hi 👋, my heart and prayers go out in memory of everybody fallen and suffering from war. , Jim, and the input from your wife, It looks amazing, that was a great idea, it actually reminds me of a spiders web, Not sure whether it is possible, it might be an idea to see whether you can cut it into a helix, whether it is possible to use a router on a jig , or if you’re feeling very creative and scary, even a chainsaw, I went back to the UK last week , whilst I was there, I went to my container that I hadn’t been to for nearly 4 years, and a lot of my timber that was kiln dried is now around 18 to 20% moisture, not very good, plus some of my bits of tools and accessories I’ve got rust on them, I’ve spent quite a few hours the other day just cleaning my Sash clamps, and I have picked up my massive engineers tailstock, which is fitted with a stepper motor, I’ve stripped it all off and put it back as a normal tailstock, at some point, I might get the electronics working again, I had somebody build electronics for it, to make something that you love ha ha, 😂, pepper mills 😂, back in the late 90s, I earned a serious amount of money, making Mills, play with all made out of exotic Woods, and I had a pure silver ring band around the base, which was Homart for the millennium, I’ve even still got some profile tools for doing the tops, as for your container, I recommend that you insolate it, and even if you put a false roof over the top and sides, this will obviously help with extreme heat and cold, and will look better virtually, then I still container sitting in your garden, so I do know people, and seen a lot on KZhead where people have made houses out of them, It is a great idea, different wood combinations , even to the point of probably using different colours resins. I wish you and your family, all the best for the future , and your move all go safely, I/we all look 👀 forward to your next Art project . Phil from the moulin France,

    • Someone else mentioned they spray foam the top of the container and that drastically cut down on moisture in the container. They are on the east coast of Canada that’s considered a rain forest. Something to think about. To bad it’s so expensive. Thanks

  • Jim, your wife did have a great idea. But since you hate puzzles, are you sure she’s not ticked at you for something? The colors are perfect together. Now I’m thinking about how to make a frog to go in the bottom to hold small branches of flowering bushes in a bowl like that. A frog is a dome with a flat bottom that has holes drilled (or made) in the dome part, that the branches fit in. Since old time ones were made of glass I think epoxy might work.
