Thx for the content, but still the easiest method is companies learning to stop putting screws under the mouse feets :)
We can only hope they are listening
why not?
Where else would they put them?
@@WeloveohgreatSam Just on the sides, is not that hard, there is actually some mices/company that have already done that, I just don't remember the name to tell you rn.
@@RobertSusin or just no screws lol
I always come back to your vids when I'm doing work on my mice. Thanks Bob, it's the difference between me being able to change switches/mod and not.
Good content on the channel! Nice HQ camera, good explainations and time stamps. Man you deserve way more subscribers.
Many thanks for this! Hair dryer + spudger worked like a charm (on a Mionix Naos Pro), and even though there are some marks and very slight unevenness on the feet after reinstalling them, they still work perfectly fine!
I think the key here is buying quality pads in the first place, I bought corepads for G604 and removed them multiple times since to replace faulty switches, they come off perfectly every time. A bit of heat and careful prying using a non sharp tool will help.
This blow dryer worked like a charm on my superlight with core pads
Hey bob, does using lighter fluid dissolve the adhesive? What do you use when skates have bad adhesive/dissolved adhesive? I'm guessing some sort of thin double sided tape
took my tiger ice skates off today to do some modding and man they were completely flat and felt like they were untouched, i used a hairdryer to heat it up abit then added drops of rubbing alcohol all around the skates then went in with a small plastic toothpick (these work FAR better than anything else, they’re super thin flexible and isn’t sharp so it’s a lot better than even a prying tool) and added some more alcohol white taking it off
Maximum temperature before pain sets in after you touch something for longer than 10 seconds is about 55°C, it depends on conditions by a few degrees but there is little individual variability. Before you get to 80°C, there is no need to worry about the materials involved. I should probably just throw the mouse on the heatbed of the 3D printer to loosen the skate glue. I do this when repairing phones and tablets as well to remove the glass. Far as tools go i also have those reddish orangish plastic razorblades, those are nice, they're made from PA just like the spudger and they're maybe a little flatter and a lot wider, which is super helpful.
super helpful video!
Heat is definitely viable but only for those who have used it before. the key is to make sure you NEVER stop moving and to stay back with the element. and some tape on the sensor never hurts
Good tip with the tape 👍
3D printer hotplate is the best way. Set it between 60 and 75 degrees (some ABS can start to soften at 80) leave it a few minutes and the feet come off without getting horribly bent. but the best method is to just have replacements.
I used a heat gun and melted my gpx
Will using the blow dryer cause those ugly marks on the plastic and how far or close would you recommend
amazing vid very helpful very grateful
Np Blasko glad I could help 👍
Mice god at it again! KEEP IT UP! YOUR A GENIUS. 😄😄🔥
Thanks ☺️🤗
I used a screwdriver on my g pro x, ended up leaving a little scratch on the actual mouse shell under the front mouse foot right where the little slit is, the black adhesive was really on there and was hard to get off since I’ve had the same feet for a year. I also ended up really scratching the puck since the sticky part didnt come off like the actual ptfe foot, do scratches ruin new mouse feet application like do little nicks like mess with new feet? I don’t think they would considering there is giant hole screws under them
what kind of tape u use?
This was a great video of cat and mouse lol
I'm surprised the cat stayed so calm
Impressed how good lighter fluid works. Removed the same feet 4 times now, still Look new.
Yeah it pretty good. it can make plastic brittle but i've not had any issues... just don't pour it on.
By far the John Smithens method aka zippo fluid is the best!!!! ;) ;). Hope life is treating u well my friend!
Sure is... Not bad you
hello brother if i removed the sticker that says mouse name at the back of the mouse will it affect the mouse?
very useful thank you !! i mean all ur vids are useful
Thank's Muffy I appreciated the support
🙂👍
@@Beardedbob I’m surprised u hearted my comment or even replied 😂

*01:35* I *love* these little animals soo much!💖🤗💖
Meow Meow... 😻😻
@@Beardedbob *07:02* Can you tell me the exact name of that 3M tape please?
Thanks for your video. I just used my fingernail to take them off. Worked fine and mouse is now free range.
Fair enough
I messed up and ruined the adhesive on the tiger ice skate that goes on the front of the mouse. What's that 3m double sided tape called that you show in the vid? I can't find anything that will stick to the skate..
shop.beardedbob.com/collections/tools
I only clicked on it cuz I use the deathadder essential as my daily driver.. would like to see some mods for this mouse.. not anything extreme.. mostly just been having grip issues.. I play a lot of fps games and with the ergo shape of it.. the right side is a bit hart to grip when you try to pick up the mouse after a flick.. could you make a video about rubber pads or other mods i can do to make the mouse more grippier??
No problem, I've been slacking on the Razer and will be ramping it up this next few weeks.
Ngl I had that term daily driver lol I used to use a Deathadder until Razer wouldn’t honor their warranty when one broke
What is a "splinger"?
Hey, just wondering when heating up the skates should you have your thumb covering the sensor?
I've never done that but I avoid putting direct heat onto the sensor. if you can it wont do it any harm.
@@Beardedbob ok thanks!
@@Beardedbob also Have you seen anyone mod any Bloody Gaming mice? People can drag click 100+ on them.
not yet now.... 100+ cps eh... mmmmm which one I might take a look
@@Beardedbob The bloody a70 or a60 or abedless
hahahah the cat focus :D
WHAT THE FRICK I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS YESTERDAY BUT RUINED MINE :(
Ouch.... What happened? Sorry I couldn't help 😔
Same :(
will u be testing the glide speed of xtfy, odin infinity, aqua control + (non coated) mousepads?
At some point I want to test them all. I just need the time to catch up :-p
i just got my tiger ices and put them on but they were a little bit outside of the divots and I decided to peel them off with my hands, didn’t bend it but it did come off a little curved. And they lie flat now, any issues I would potentially experience in the future?
nah
So did you use double sided tape to reapply them and they aren’t curved anymore?
@@blackpillbackshots8489 no i didn’t touch them afterward, the feet feel fine now
Thanks trying to remove my mouse skates on friday
Np hope it helps
For Logitech mice I just don’t remove skates unless I know I have replacements which is annoying for modding but none of the methods have consistently worked for me on their skates
Logitech ones you will damage period. They spilt mostly... best to as you say have some replacements.
PCB limitations I guess. Razer did do this on the RVM but now on the DAM lol..
Learned this the hard way lol... I ordered new skates today!
I accidentally melted mine a lil bit but I was using a heat gun from a rework station…lol literally made the part I was applying heat to gooey
I just bought myself a mechanical keyboard and the right side rubber feet seem to either be the wrong height or not stuck properly cause the keyboard keeps sliding. Can anyone let me know if there is a way to fix this
Could change or remove the feet? could RMA
just buy a use a pair of small sharp scissors to punch tiny holes in the skates to loosen the screws, saves you the trouble of keep buying new skates every time you need to open the mouse to fix the switches. Actually is the small plastic rectangular tabs on the mouse button towers that you need to smooth out, it only lasts for about 25k clicks (800x less than they try to advertise). I don't understand why mouse companies like to boasting about the 20M clicks the switch can do, if they are serious about it, they really should use metal tabs instead of plastic.
sorry i couldnt quite catch what the name of the black plastic spatula/knife thing haha what is it called haha
Spudger shop.beardedbob.com/products/spudger-nylon-tool-beardedbob-green?_pos=3&_sid=2630a98cb&_ss=r
I just absolutely destroyed my g600 feet taking them off. Had to remove the weights inside because it was way too heavy.
Yep most get messed up, my recommendation is to replace them each time you remove them.
@@Beardedbob I ordered 2 pairs.
Hey Bob, can you do an xm1r weight reduction and a hati-s one just for the helluvit hahaha
xm1 has been done but I need to edit it. I did stream it on www.twitch.tv/beardedbob....
but if i just want to change the skates it doesnot really matter as long as i dont damage the mouse itself, right? i usually cahnge my mousefeet every couple months and just throw away the old ones nice video btw
Correct, you will just need replacement skates
I just broke 2 mouse because the heat damage the sensor when I removed the mouse feet. So bad
It was very good, but what should I do if it breaks down? Where should I buy it?
how do you mean breaks down? as in the skates break? If so I would by some new ones for your mouse. shop.beardedbob.com/collections/mouse-skatez-1
I'm new to this and I just took off my mouse feet cuz I thought they are meant to be thrown. :(
I thought that blow dryer said babyfist on it for a sec
I'd be careful not to heat the sensor lens. Maybe cover it with a tape or something, (not touching the lens) Have not read any specs on operating ranges for mouse sensors but still. Comparing to most common eye glasses that are made of a plastic of some kind.
Why I recommend not using a hairdryer 👍…tbh even when I have it’s never been a problem, just don’t try to heat the base as hot as the ☀️
i cover the sonsor hole with my thumb and heat my thumb up aswell. i am fairly heat resistent, so its not something i recommend, but its the safest way to tell when its too hot.
The real question is why does he have 3 death adder essential
I have more 😂
Hi Sir! what trick to remove gpro x superlight feet without damage? Use heat?... Use liquid zippo? Please tell me, i need your rep!
zippo
@@Beardedbob zippo? Sir, i think Zippo liquid will destroy the adhesive layer. why zippo sir?!
my mouse broke and i got a new one and i somehow need to transfer my ceramic skates and griptape over ;-;
So which way is the best 😬
says at the end :-)
Ever thought of making a G-Wolves HTM wireless? :v
Its on the list but just haven't got around to looking at it. The Skoll Wireless is another I want to do.
My shit fell off and now the glue is stuck on it and i cant get it off
is that thing supposed to be removed from the mouse?
The skates/feet? Only if they wear out or you want to open it
@@Beardedbob oh thanks for the information appreciate that
that cat so cute
yeah she is... just no paws on the lens plz
cat soooo cute
Well i just take an blunt knife and the job is done
works as well.
me who tore it off....
Bro my thumb button stuck inside while pressing
And it is razer Deatadder essential
The thing is I not had equipments like you
You should just need a screw driver and a way to take the skates off.. failing that you can always get some new skates. shop.beardedbob.com/collections/mouse-skatez-1 You could also RMA
this came 1 day too late i just burnt the base of my gpx yesterday T_T
Ouch.... What happened? Hopefully you didn't melt it. Sorry I couldn't help
@@Beardedbob ye the entire base began to melt and the switch burnt inwards so u cant move it. Saddest part is that you cant buy a white gpx as its out of stock rn
