Next up for Top Rank Boxing and Nine months after boxing’s most controversial conclusion of 2020, WBA super flyweight world champion Joshua “El Profesor” Franco and Australia’s former world champion Andrew “The Monster” Moloney will settle the score in the third chapter of their rivalry Saturday, Aug. 14 at Hard Rock Live at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
In the 10-round co-feature, undefeated WBO International junior welterweight champion Arnold Barboza Jr. will take on Antonio “Tono” Moran.
The four-round middleweight special attraction will see the highly anticipated professional debut of Nico Ali Walsh, grandson of Muhammad Ali, against an opponent to be named.
This titanic Tulsa tripleheader will be televised live on ESPN & ESPN Deportes (simulcast on ESPN+) at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

  • I hadn’t seen Gonzalez fight before but the man has courage, heart, a chin, he was in shape and came to fight. Much respect to Julio. He was just overmatched. At 32 Roy was still a thing of boxing beauty. Roy was strictly a counter puncher all his career and if he had been willing to jump on Julio, he could have ended it in 6 at most.

  • In the early part of his career it was like Jones had a microchip implanted into all of his opponents that fed directly into his brain what the person was thinking. What punch he was going to throw at what time. which direction he was going to move his head and body. It looked unfair to put him in the ring with anybody. The man was unreal.

  • The first half was great, but the last 5 rounds or so when boring as hell, Jones didn't do anything else but wait for Gonzalez to throw so he could counter big, and Gonzales didn't throw cuz he was scared of being countered 🤣

  • perhaps roy is one of them fighters that can deal damage without making his hits vissually appear impactful, but can hurt, considering at least the second occurence of knockdown and how julio was keeping his head down at times in the fight, such as during exchanges. however, julio was something of crouched in round one while exchanging heavily, but he ultimately came out of that right then and there... with his own most powerful looking barage of punches in return, anyways huh....

  • Don't understand why Roy had such bad rope defence. He would just stand straight up and let the full force of his opponents blows hit him on the arms and gloves. No movement or deflection. You can see his head and body shudder through the gloves. This would come back to haunt him later in his career. Guys like Floyd, Ali, and Bivol could lay on the ropes all day and have there opponents waste all there energy.

  • Jones was small at light heavyweight.Naturally smaller.He did what he had to.To protect himself.As we saw later.He got seriously hurt and KO'D twice.If u never boxed.You wont understand.
