What Enderal Does Better Than Skyrim

I have recently been playing a lot of Enderal and I came to the conclusion that Enderal does many things better than Skyrim. So Id like to share my opinions on how Skyrim compares. Hopefully the next Elder Scrolls game will improve upon some of Skyrim's flaws.
that painting is Saturn eating his son, by Goya! Roman mythology
Very cool! Thanks for the info!
I thought it was Cronus from the Greek Mythology :o
@@vaasmontenegro1573 Cronus and Saturn are the same, much of roman mythology is just greek with different names
@@egonhenriksen7968 ohh okay, Thank you for the explaination!
That painting is not just scary, it's symbolic of the entire game. That painting is a famous Francisco Goya painting of the Greco-Roman god Cronos/Saturn devouring his children because it was prophesied that they would overthrow him. Now think about the plot and themes of the game. Boom. It foreshadows the whole damn game and I didn't even notice it when I first played the intro. God damn.
Kronos himself ate his children because it was either prophesied or he thought (can’t remember) that they would kill their father, just like he did to Uranus, if I am not mistaken. Now that I think about this, it is very similar to the plot, where by actively trying to avoid an outcome, you unwittingly bring it closer.
a self fulfilling prophecy
Reminds me of when I bought and built a pIII 400 MHz comp.. and played unreal II. F*CK ME , I hadn't played since like doom days, so the pov gfx were just epic.. scared the shit out of me, despite being an 'adult' ,p and had to turn off a few times in fright and start over. After about 4-5 attempts to not die of fright, I finally got to a part where somene guy got munched by an alien, and it dawned upon me.. I had been struggling for days to get through the intro LOL ,) Damn, I miss those days.. although since I almost never game, every time I try a new gfx card, I still end up doing this... (After 3 years or 4, I am now FINALLY outside the starting room in that game erm penumbra? Overture? Machine? dunno, but I am at least outside in the corridor now. Freaks me out:/
I’ve seen it at Museo del Prado. Goya is badass, I like his Black Sabbath painting too
I'm ashamed to admit this but until like right before the end of the game I saw that picture lol.
BRING ME A NICE CRIST PIECE OF MEAT........
Lol :))))
Nice and crisp. You know about that, don't you? PROPHET.

What the people behind Enderal achieved is both a monumental accomplishment for them, and probably the greatest shame for Bethesda. If a group of dedicated modders, writers and voice actors are able to create a masterpiece like this *FOR FREE* , wtf are they doing with their millions...
Bethesda created an enginge, which people behind Enderal used for their game. It's not like they created everything from the beginning
@@kolarz2128 I guess that's something to consider, but Bethesda didn't create everything from the beginning either, they've been working on the same engine for like 20 years. What I was talking about is more the story/rpg - so creative side of the game, not the technical one.
@@atillanandorfuri3343 ok :) but it is not that bad in my opinion
@@kolarz2128 I wouldn't say it's bad, I used to like it a lot as well, but in hindsight it feels painfully mediocre in that respect.
10 thumbs up if i can
I don't know about the original German version but even the English dubbed version has awesome voice acting
The original german voice acting is pretty great i can say, even all the emotional parts are on top, its impressive that they could manage such good quality in both languages :p
Schattenfisch™ fr they deserve so much more recognition for their work
I played the german version and it is fantastic. Great voiceactors
Da hast du recht
Bis auf ein paar wenige Ausnahmen ist das VA großartig.
Fuck, this made me reinstall Skyrim So I can play Enderal again. The craving for the experience again is too great to deny.
@Worldchamp 12 The problem in Skyrim and Fallout after nv is that the fans have to put in the work to make the goddamn story coherent and interesting lol! There is no other way to think about the game world and the story in general in Enderal at all than what the writers intended it to be. No stupid Coda, no half handed explanations of the game world. It is what they deem it to be and that's final!
Another thing better about Enderal is that you are actually compelled to use items that you find in the game, for example food, which is extremely valuable especially in the early game because you don't regenerate health. The arcane fever then separates the use of potions from food and applies some actual purpose to these distinctions. It also doesn't flood everything with coin loot like you're constantly playing an easter egg hunt. Instead you have to be careful where you search, and you're truly compelled to save every coin and food item and potion for its prime opportunity to use it. Same goes for the learning books, and everything else. Things are so much more valuable and so much more consideration is placed on the player to decide how everything in the game is used.
Totally agree.
The worst part of Skyrim's intro is actually the fact that they don't execute Ulfric Stormcloak FIRST. You'd think they would, considering he's the god damn leader of the rebellion. And instead...they start with random rebel number 13 and then move onto you. If Ulfric had been picked first, then that would've been it. Civil War over.
Agreed. like, seeing their leader killed would demoralize the fuck out ofi anyone... but ey, it's bugthesda...
This was really well made. I was looking forward to seeing what else you would cover, like characters, plot twists, romance options, etc, and was sad that this is the only one. But hopefully you'll release more of these comparison analysis in the future.
Totally underrated video. You should have way more subscribers with this quality of video.
In the Enderal's intro, just the three crosses, including a smaller one, which are on fire in a corner of the Farm are frightening.
I recall one of the biggest differences I experienced between Skyrim and Enderal was that for Skyrim, I needed at least 100 mods to make the world more immersive, whereas for Enderal downloading mods never even occurred to me. Enderal's world might be a little smaller, and the story more linear, but I'll take a quality story driven world any day then a massive sandbox devoid of interesting characters.
The quest in Enderal were so superior .. I mean I understand it came half a decade later after the game realised .. but the story .. and the writing .. .. it was heaven
Age is no excuse for poor writing. They managed to do this semi-adequate in Oblivion and earlier games but it got tossed out of the windows all the way in skyrim for some reason.
Honestly, I remember every quest. Even "fetch quests" have interesting twists.
@@wu1ming9shi lol Oblivion's writing wasn't much better, arguably worse in some areas as far as the main quest goes (being a walking camera and plot device for the actual main character of Martin, everything else Oblivion did like side quests and Guild Quests were definitely miles better tho)
still waiting for part 2 :(
same
Great video! Honestly the quality of the video was so good i thought you were a regular youtuber, great job! I see you haven't uploaded anything in a while so you probably won't do so in the future, but i subbed just in case.
The more you play Enderal, the more you fall in love with the world. It's just so beautiful, but also has many very dark themes, and quite a few disturbing elements, even more so with Forgotten Stories. Honestly, I can't watch any Enderal content and not be hyped immediately.
Most interesting character from Skyrim is actually a friendly dragon called Paarthunax who the game and a boring character wants you to kill withount giving you the option to chose.... I'd rather kill everyone and stay [n that montain chilling with that dragon and those old dudes... In Enderal, however, everyone is cool and wifey/husbando material, till they die horribly... Such irony
My favorite Skyrim character has to be Cicero. His voice acting threw me completely off guard when I first met him at the Loreius Farm that I just fell in love with his character. And when I was doing the Dark Brotherhood questline, I made sure to spare his life and it was the best decision I ever made. Not only is he a great character but also one of the best followers that I ever fought alongside with. He definitely isn't a silent character and he definitely ensures that you know he's there no matter where you go. It was definitely immersive for me and I always made sure to have him with me in my adventures around Skyrim.
Wow. This is insanely well edited and written. You deserve more views and subscribers, and you should make more videos in this series.
I agree that Enderal is way better. And this is a nice video for its level of detail and the thought put into it. But you don't get to a huge reason why Enderal is better: the world has so much more detail in general. The cities and towns are so much larger. They are almost like actual cities/towns while in Skrim they are so tiny that it's pitiful. I thought it was just a limitation of technology but then this free mod proves otherwise. Exactly the same concerning character dialogue and the individual houses. In Enderal the number of items in houses, the size, the number of rooms, the unique architecture, the thought out reslistic designs just blows skyrim completely out of the water. Without quest markers you would truly get lost in the city of Ark. And for dialogue look at the conversation with the bank teller for example. If a Bethesda developer managed to think that up Todd Howard would just have it removed for being too deep or offending someone. Same with Constantine railing against religion, etc. The characters are just so much deeper. Even the books are far longer. It's embarrassing for Bethesda. So far though it looks like casual gamers still have no idea this free game exists. But it's coming to Steam very soon.
5:35 OK this is just my personal opinion but I think it´s more creepy in the german version. The voice actors in both versions did an excellent job. I started a new Nehrim playthrough and after it a new one of Enderal.
Finally another Nehrim player
this is a nice analytic of skyrim aginst this peice of art. BRING ME A NICE CRISP PIECE OF ART [lol jk. this will probably end up being a meme]
Now what about the other parts of this series? There sure is even more content in Enderal superior to Skyrim now with the new "Forgotten Dreams" edition. Also I wanna show my friends videos with that very topic, but this episode right here has major story spoilers for the introduction. Speaking of spoilers, you completely forgot to mention the second dream sequence and also the ones further in the story, weaving layers upon layers of mystery and existential crises into plot and world building. Skyrim, on the other hand, has no such catching key motifs except for, you know, dragons and 50 shades of war. And yeah, just as you were saying, in Skyrim I feel like a greedy adventurer and merchant, but in Enderal I feel like a person. I feel like I don't want to go explore dungeons because staying in town with all those NPCs is way nicer, I feel like I shouldn't just take all the random loot in front of people's houses because that'd be immoral and not path-abiding, because I shall respect their property.
Enderal made Skyrim finally worth my time and money
This channel deserves way more subscribers.
well if some more videos would come.
I think you made an amazing video! But I think, and I am sure that other people too, that you are an awesome at video editing and making KZhead videos! I know I am a few years late but I think you should continue making videos! If you do continue, I can't wait what videos you may produce!
I just started playing Enderal last week. Just beat it this morning. Then I see your video reminding me how the game started and it made me think maybe the Black Guardian lied about the player dying and becoming fleshless after being tossed off the ship. Maybe the player was fleshless from very early on. How else could the high ones have placed the player in this manipulation dream at the beginning if not already being fleshless? Something to possibly look forward to once they do the DLC I guess...
It was not a manipulative dream, as Sirius and your character say later on, this dream was constantly repeated, and judging by the phrase of Sirius "If we had a penny for every night when you woke up screaming, we would be traveling to Enderal on our own Starship and not like this", this dream was repeated a huge number of times. Also, in the first dream there wasn't anything said about the fact that our character is weak, only High Ones did that in the next dreams.
Even if the dreams came from the High Ones, that doesn´t necessarily mean that the player was fleshless from the start, because the High Ones aren´t only able to control fleshless people, as is shown by the red madness. They can control who ever they please, as long as that person is vulnerable in some way.
gotta finish your series bruh excellent content
Just started Enderal Forgotten story’s in 2021 haha! This video makes me very excited to play!
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one :D
How well the game makes you care about characters is so well demonstrated in Rhyneus story. If it was just a bit worse at it, you wouldn't care much about it. Spoilers down there instead I was devastated and unable to continue the game for a few days actually in mourning.
spoiler: Imagine how broken-hearted I still am after playing the end of the game.. I couldnt even start to play a second character
@@BreakingTheGleipnir Relatable as f.. the first thing i did after finishing the game was uninstalling it, not cause i didnt like it, but cause i couldnt go over the emotional rollercoaster again
@@filipkotlaja8697 What a piece of art this game is for making us feel this way and all, its crazy I wish there would have been an ending where you couldve stopped the explosion
@@BreakingTheGleipnir as far as i know, the DLC that they are working on currently has a "secret" ending, so... who knows. maybe we get to save the world after all :)

Very nice video, sitll have to try enderal :) doesi it have the same system requirements as skyrim?
play it! and yes, to answer your very, very old question
i hope you do part 2 soon
Ok ok I can see where he’s coming from. EVENTHOUGH when I first played Skyrim it had me feeling suspenseful and then BOOM chaos I didn’t know what was going on but I just ran. When the dragon flew away after we exited the cave o began to get invested with the few characters I knew. General tallius, ulftic, even one of the two ppl you followed to freedom. It was a good intro. This mod just did a different intro.
Massively underrated video!! Love it and your channel
Great video! I wish there were more parts...
it's another game, and better in story, character dialogue, leveling system, not a kiddie's lore instead a better lore, combat system yes.... better... i can add yes after each point i mentioned here just to help reality sinks in.
Great video man. You just got a new sub
I've always found it odd no one mentions that a triple A studio couldn't have more unique voice actors. The jarls of every town all share the same voice actors of many of the generic characters you meet throughout Skyrim. Hardly anyone actually has a unique voice actor. The jarls, empire of Skyrim, stormcloak rebellion leader, at the least should've had unique voice actors.
ur vids are great quality, keep it up
very nice of you to say :) hope to be uploading more soon. Thanks for the view and comment!
Where's part 2?
honestly were both biased because skyrim is just a little bit better than enderal but ive also been playing enderal for a long time and ive noticed MAJOR bugs (skyrim has a lot of major bugs too) more then skyrim though there is no flying mammoths like in enderal i couldnt do the cermony were you become a keeper but i reloaed and ill try again
- What Enderal does made better than skyrim? - Everything
what not? better in everything. Graphics ,lore, city desing, area desing, story (10x better) , characters (8x better), combat mechanics. etc. etc
To be honest, both games' intros could be much, MUCH shorter... And Enderal has like 2 of these long scripted sequences.
Yeah, enderals intro is something to experience yourself... i will never want to skip the enderal intro, but always want to end that goddamn drive to helgen in skyrim...
also, where are the other parts?
Character creation prompt in enderal is somewhat similar to Morrowind
this is not a mod, this is a full game! ♥
Enderal is a mod for Skyrim in the same way that Fallout New Vegas is a mod for Fallout 3.
@@vogonp4287 you actually failed to get the irony :/
@@Suyalus where was the irony
Great Video Man, Love it
I'll probably link your series to my review. you're going to go on more detail about how it's better than I will. I look forward to the others.
Part 2?
I will just buy The Elder Scrolls VI to see what SureAI makes with it. I loved Skyrim. But THIS ? You know, there's even another way to beat the game and those supernatural bad guys who want to cleanse the world. You buy a home in the main city, you choose a job, and you stay there. Some (very few) people may die from red madness. And that's all. Stay there. Forever
@SpaceMan Sounds like most of your comparison is the differences between an open ended role playing game & a linear narrative game. You prefer linear games over role playing games clearly. You want the game to establish things FOR YOU about YOUR character and THEIR (not your) story. Sounds like you'd prefer JRPGs or regular narrative, open world & action games rather than genuine role playing games. If you hate the lack of connection your newly created character has to the world & story in Skyrim, imagine trying to play a tabletop RPG I'm not saying Skyrim's intros good. I'm not a fan of either intro and think Enderal's is a lot more interesting (Except the scene with the father at the start. I didn't find it creepy, but cringe)
That is a great point! I do often find that linear/ semi linear games provide more memorable experiences, although I will say that I have played Skyrim for hundreds if not thousands of hours so I do still love me some good ol open world fun. I would say that my tastes keep changing over the years. Thanks for watching and commenting!! :D
strongly agree
Everything 💀
whaaaaaat? why is there no part 2? :(
The story had some issues here and there. However that intro is probably the most hooking of almost every game I've played aside from New Vegas and Planescape Torment.
"multi-part series"
Yeah I kinda fell off youtube after making my first video haha. Hopefully you will stick around for my upcoming stuff! I just put a new vid out and more to come. Thanks for watching and commenting on this one though :D
And that´s only the intro. :´D The only thing that keeps Skyrim fresh for me now are mods and the fact that you can play as One Punch Man.
Charname's father really love meat.
When I first played this game after 4 or 5 yrs it was created cuz games like this are rare in the Philippines, much less a personal PC, I was hooked cuz it had better graphics than GTA San Andreas and others, after so long playing, I noticed that the storyline could've been better made and nothing much happens after you've slain Alduin, the final dragon boss. Only mods can be used as an extension if, you can afford them. Side quests are just the ones worthwhile and no romance or bromance either, kinda feels empty nowadays but still good for crunching the time.
I like the Christopher Walken impression at 0:38 very professional
As a Ralof fan im fucking pissed
I still avoid to go in Fogville cuz that zone is creepy af, good job SureAI
Part 2?!
the voice acting in enderal is just so amazing
Short Answer: Everything. Especially the storyline.
I'm simple Prophet - i see Enderal i press "like"
I'm not a fan of mods either and im not actually a big skyrim fan because i never finished the main story but that mod looks really interesting. By the way, have you ever played Gothic? One of my favourite rpg of all time (next to VtMB)
you forgot to mention the most important thing: the main intro which explains the whole background story of enderal.
Nehrim*
Dude. Ralof is my homie. I feel a great sadness seeing that there is someone who genuinely dislikes Ralof. I doesnt matter if im going Imperial or Stormcloak, im escaping with Ralof. Im kinda disappointed he wasnt recruitable as a companion in vanilla (I just use RDO to take him with me but whatever). And I thought Skyrim did good with voice acting. Everybody has almost the same damn voice but they all feel like separate people. Especially the guards. I never played Enderal tho. Im on console anyway. And you keep talking about the personal stuff. I love it when my character isnt attached to everything going on, they just put themselves into it, as the hero. Think: Skyrim, Farcry 3, 4, 5, (6 is kinda personal), Fallout New Vegas, etc These are some top teir games and in all of them, youre not really attached to the main plot, you just shove yourself into it only to find out everybody needed you super badly. Thats more interesting than "Oh shit, just survived a nuclear apacolypse, time to go rescue my son and mourn my wife without second thought" (Fallout 4 was actually pretty good tho, even if the factions were kinda weird) And then theres escaping from prison with the fucking emperor, protect him for no reason, watch him die, and then get forced to go save the world from hell. And Oblivion was an amazing game that everybody loved and nobody bitched about being unconnected from the story. Because youre not connected to it, youre a pyscopath that helps everybody while killed countless amounts of living beings whilst doing so (Farcry 3 highlights this) One more thing, the Dragonborn is really supposed to be detached from the characters. Youre a fucking demigod and everybody knows it. Theyre not gonna have a conversation with you about anything besides you helping them, why youre helping them, or what happened 2 minutes ago. Im probably biased anyway, because as I said, never played ?Enderas? I forgot what it was called
The intro to Enderal SE is way longer than Skyrim SE.
Everything about enderal is better than Skyrim, if sureAI is going to make another one when the new elder scrolls game comes out I’ll donate
I just don't think you can appreciate skyrim for what it is.
over the years I have definitely learned to appreciate its strengths more! It was especially awesome when it came out and mod support is amazing for it!
Rest In Peace parts 2 and 3
TL:DW: EVERYTHING
Never felt as much of anything in Skyrim as I did in enderal. The intro blew me away
Please do a second video man
Good video. I actually cared about Lydia in skyrim, cause the way she cooked was... A sight to behold =D Jokes aside, well done man.
Bethesda should hire these Guys for the next TES. Or at least let them make a "official" TES spinoff like obsidian did with fallout new vegas. These guys know what they are doing. I mean they did this whole thing with 6 Guys in their "Sparetime" beside college. As far as i know this was even some sort of "graduation work".
I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took an Enderal to the knee..
I prefer Skyrim, but I do like your voice. Thee have talent.

Shards of Order is just the content they had to cut from the release added to the game :)
@@lupus3824 skyrim or enderal content? why isn't it available for dl anymore?

I only started playing recently. All the Info is so old 😪
I think that after the ending, our character went on to become Ron Swanson, enjoying the wonders of meat, bringing the crispy meat to the grill virgins.
Honestly, they need their own studio and engine.
Never heard of Enderal before this video. Have to say that everytime I reinstalled Skyrim I always end up uninstalling it shortly after. It's really quite forgettable. Nothing really makes me want to play it again, though ive tried. I would rather have a world half the size and a better story and characters than the emptiness that Skyrim seems to give me. The bugs don't help either. We already know another ES game is in the works. Just hope it's a better engine, better story and vibrant looking world and not the usual drabness you get with Skyrim.
The only thing that sucks about Enderal is that you have to buy Skyrim, and thus the money goes to Bethesda. I'd rather pay full AAA price for Enderal, and have the money go to them. They deserve it a lot more imo, as it feels like they put more passion, soul and heart into their game, than Bethesda ever did with Skyrim.
I think sureai are making their own game, I'm excited to see what they come up with
How the fuck do you have only 210 subs my g I looked away from my phone on auto play thought it started playing a Jacob Geller video
