Funny how the cheaper "teen" eyeshadow palette had more color payoff than R.E.M. Just because it has a bigger name doesn't mean it is a better product
Better payoff is not always better. It’s preference, some people like to build.

Ariana wanted a brand that was pretty natural so that’s what she did
When Hope opened the R.E.M eyeshadow, all I could think about was the cheap eyeshadow palettes you can get from supermarkets where I live, which cost about £2 and are rubbish. That palette looks exactly like them, down to the grey plastic borders around the pans
I thought the EXACT same thing! They literally look like Dollar General eyeshadow palettes.

I worked at a makeup/fragrance counter when all the celebrities had perfumes so I got to smell them all. most were pretty mediocre, but every once in a while one was amazing. I feel like makeup would be about the same. lol

@@ImpetuousPorkus I don't know which ones they still make, but the Jennifer Lopez ones smelled really good and there was a Halle Berry line that was excellent. But fragrance all depends on your body chemistry. Definitely try them before you buy one.

The packaging feels heavy in your hand it doesn't feel cheap I just wish it didn't scratch so easily. I also don't really like the whole silver color scheme..

The only celeb brands I’ve ever liked are from Selena, Ariana, or Rihanna. Ariana has great perfumes (Cloud, sweet like candy), Selena has some great makeup (rare beauty’s mascara is my absolute fave) and had a great perfume that was discontinued. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna has great products (love Eaze Drop skin tint)
Loved your comment on quinine in tonic water because that is exactly how gin & tonic was invented. In 18th/19th century India, British officers were prescribed quinine to combat malaria. It tasted bad so they added sugar and gin, thus inventing the gin & tonic!

I seem to have some kind of sensitivity to quinine which is still in our tonic water. I just faint and then I'm fine. Obviously I don't drink it anymore now that I know what caused it.
So happy to see this comment! Stuff You Missed in History Class did a podcast episode about this (The History of Gin). Nowadays tonic water has much lower levels of quinine than before, so it is not as effective against malaria and not recommended for medical use. But much tastier!

I’ve actually met Carrie Underwood. She’s just as sweet and beautiful as you would think. When I met her I had a keychain from the show.when I was next in line, the security guard asked me what I was going to have signed. When I showed him the keychain, he shook his head and gave me one of the CDs and said “have her sign this.” Great experience all the way around 😊

The REM eyeshadow is not very pigmented but Ariana said herself for a more pigmented look you need to apply a white base, also her package is recycled, but overall I agree that you can buy a cheaper and better product.
Bruh I remember seeing people review ari's eyeshadows and being like "omg the pigment, it's so amazing, ari did it again," etc and I thought I was going crazy, I couldn't see any color, and they were all raving about it because it's Ariana Grande.

being a fan, i wanted to try ari's brand and got the "groovy baby" palette and face mist and also got a palette and lipstick when the brand first launched. gotta be honest, chapter 2's quality is SO MUCH BETTER than chapter 1's, i think the team was really unexpert before and improved a lot the formulas with time. was not really worth it at first, now it's one of my top tier brands.

I would have to respectfully disagree when it comes to the eyeshadows. All of the eyeshadows from chapter 1 blend so beautifully they're very smooth. But chapter 2 is missing the pigment and for some reason they're all metallics not enough mattes. 🥺

idk why but i really love the rem eyeshadows. they aren’t incredibly pigmented but very buildsble and i use daily without issue.
I love Florence by MBB!!!! Her skincare is so bomb and doesn’t burn your eyes , like many do when they get in your eyes! I haven’t tried any of her makeup tho:(

I have the body glitter from Florence by Mills. I figured out that if you mix it with a moisturizer/serum it works really well.
I wish we could go back to the days of celebrity perfumes. Honestly, I think they were better quality because back then, you actually had to make a good product for people to buy it. Now, it's just celebs name attached to it. But Unbreakable by Khloe and Lamar and Girlfriend by Justin Bieber were my go-to.

Good American jeans are one of my favorite. As an athlete, it's super hard to find jeans that fit in all the right places. Bought them before I knew the Ks were associated with them. Well worth the $100. Do suggest try them on at Nordstrom from buying for size purposes.
And occasionally they have BOMB sales where you can get them for like $59. I love the jeans.

Florence is an amazing brand. Can’t seem to get it where I am from but when I travel next im for sure getting more products. My aunt brought some of the products for me to try and im OBSESSED. lash glue isn’t the best tho do not recommend the lash glue

The fallout and lack of pigments in that REM eyeshadow is horrible. I've seen Dollar Tree store brand eyeshadows give more color to lids than box of crayons. I love how upfront you are with reviews. It's refreshing 👍
I had at least two of Britney Spears’ perfumes and some of Jessica Simpson’s skincare products that tasted like desserts. This was back in like high school and college, so late 90’s to early 2000s. Hey they were totally trendy at the time! 🤷♀️🤣

I think my favorite celebrity perfume was L.A.M.B. By Gwen Stefani. It smelled amazing. As for makeup, I just bought her GXVE beauty blue eyeliner and it is amazing. I want to try her brow pencils and the liquid lip. The eyeshadow pallets look nice too.

For the eyeshadows use a primer !!!!! To have it show Ariana is also very subtle you can also use setting spray with the lavender and create an eyeliner !!!
