Looking back this was actually a soulful reveal, reasonably priced gpus across the stack and the 3090 reveal is iconic. Feel like after this was the turning point with mining and AI.

This is careful wordplay designed to make the consumer think it will be $699 when only the first batch will be sold at low quantities at that price as a "loss leader" strategy. I am Lighting Artist. From my point of view RT is really powerful GPU rendering it not just able to generate virtual reality (Reflection, Refraction, AO and etc.) but if you had RT with GPU rendering it will track the noise more sensitive / accurate and provide a clear render without noise.

Traditional interpolation (upscaling) techniques are pretty limited in their maximum upscaling ratio. For example, using traditional techniques to upscale from 720p to 4k really doesn't perform that well. Using deep learning to upscale (DLSS) is actually showing incredible performance at upscaling images and is actually computationally less complex than traditional methods.

NVIDIA guys: at 7:00 I have noticed something, the background (the room) looks normal, but Brandon (the streamer) looks kinda weird, like almost computer generated or with a veeery small lag/latency on his movements. maybe because of a lower frame rate of the person vs the background? if I noticed that detail I am pretty sure a lot of people will notice it later, just my little input :P

@Stable Genius {Jihad} Consoles and arcades used to be much better than PCs in the early days, but PCs caught up and surpassed them around the mid 90s never to be comparable again
Nvidia priced these the way they did because now you can get into PC gaming with very little extra money. When the 3060 launches we'll see PC's that can run games better than consoles, and cheaper. Nvidia isn't trying to compete with AMD, they're trying to compete with Sony and Microsoft (Though indirectly AMD through them). Explains the launch dates, just before the new consoles drop.

@@fwrudiger I think you're overestimating cost there. I said very little "extra." You can build a console competing gaming rig for around $500 new, even less with used parts, with a 1650 super (150-200 depending on the one you get). Which is why I commented on a 3060. If you go with a 3070 it'll put you in the ballpark of $750. New consoles are gonna run around $500-600. So to answer your question, very little imo is $150. Most people have computers, they just can't game on them. Save the $150 you were gonna spend on a low-end laptop + $500-600 console, and just build a PC that will perform better than both.

@@armanis1234 It's not a shit card lmao. Yeah it's not faster than 2080 Ti, but it performs just about the same and slightly better (or worse) in some games; vice versa for the 2080 Ti. They trade blows basically. Difference being that 3070 is on a newer architecture so it'll have longer support, runs cooler/not as loud, consumes less power, has 2nd Gen RT/Tensor cores for better RTX perfomance and only cost $499 (if you can get it for that price). The only disadvantage I can think of is having only 8GB of VRAM as opposed to 11GB, which is noticable in game at 1440p and especially 4K, so you'd have to tweak settings to accommodate for it if you want to get close to 60fps in 4k. As for 1440p high refresh rate in high/ultra, that's the sweet spot for these cards as you could easily max out a +144hz 1440p monitor maxed out. So you could argue that 3070 or 2080 Ti is better than the other, but objectively 3070 is the better card as it's really just a more efficient 2080 Ti, except it's $600-$700 cheaper than what the Turing card was at launch. If you could find both cards for $500, I'd personally go with the 2080 Ti just for the extra 3GB of VRAM as it's more useful in game, as well as task outside of gaming that I do sometimes. Under normal circumstances though, 3070 is a no brainer for just $500; perfomance is practically identical 99% of the time outside ray tracing. If you're coming from any card below 2080 (in terms of performance), it's a worthy upgrade option (if you can get a 3070 for MSRP). So overall, they're both really good cards; better than what 90% of other people have in their systems likely. One's just reasonably more priced and more efficient. I'd say it should be good for another 3-4 years if you drop settings.
