3 years later... Ampere. This GPU aged fascinately well, it might just be the time to upgrade now.
In my opinion, a grafic card is not a thing that you change after some years like a smartphone, it depends all from the grafic evolution of new games. Maybe tomorrow someone will release a super incredible awesome grafic game, that even a 3090 can't support and it will be already old
A 1080 ti it's between a 2070 and a 2080

I can play all my games in 1080p in Ultra settings, except for Ray tracing which is not necessary...
@@vascop3642 its performs about the same as a 2080. The only gpus that can beat it consistently is a 2080 super/3060ti or better. And even then a 2080 super/3060ti only beats a 1080ti by 5-15fps in most games.

+Lord Lima Bean were they? doubt it. even the 1080 is faster than that. If they were, then they should re3ally differentiate their names, i meant who would name 2 completely different graphics card the same? they should have referred to it as the titan xp, even if it isn't its official name.

not really, they got bleeding edge performance months before this was even announced. not to mention the can probably sell their titan x for like 500 used

im now the proud owner of a gtx 1080 ti and im blown away how much faster it is than my old 970.
I remember watching this live on twitch, youtube and facebook. It was so broken. I was switching between all 3 to see what Jen-Hsun was saying. I never have been more excited for a GPU. I ended up buying 2.

I can't believe it's just been 4 years and we today have RTX 3000 series
I bought mine FE, am happy. It's weird, just like the demo, the card likes to sit when OCed at that 2038mhz, it drops later down to throttle maybe around 1987mhz but it seems to be a sweet spot for the founder's editions. 70 Celsius for me, not 66 but my room is toasty sometimes. Impressive.

It is funny that it has been 5 years since the 1070 launched and yet the 70 series is still stuck with 8gb
I love gaming but because of low configuration of my PC its unable to install high end gaming with better graphics. If I win one of this I will start my year to become a better gamer and try to enter in competition nearby. Thank You Team for the wonderful contest. Wish To Win.

In dollar, you can buy a 1070 for 379$, very cheap. Here in Brazil, a GTX 1070' was nothing more nothing less than 2000 R$... xD Look at the difference in the numbers...

Wow, they really hype this stuff up, don't they? The 1080 Ti was very good for its day--for a while. Many of them (mine included) have failed since then, the circuit board or actual GPU fries itself. Prices are ludicrous for a little circuit board that will eventually self-destruct.
I have a 1080 Ti from launch that was used heavy for 5 years and still works fine.

bigkev23007 1080 SLi is incredibly powerful. Though SLi is whacky so I will not recommend it. If I got a chance to pick one of those id easily pick the 1080 Ti.

Get GSYNC cheaper or OPEN it up because there aren't enough monitors out there with Gsync. It's probably too expensive or something for manufacturers to put it into their displays.. Whatever the reason, I'm seeing more Freesync monitors I'd like to get vs. Gsync ones. This doesn't give me any added motivation to choose an nVidia card in my next upcoming build. Please make it easy for this tech to be integrated and used in monitors. Just a few aren't enough. Need way more options for your customers.

AMD needs to release cards to compete with nvidia so we get better pricing.

Off the subject. Need help from you pros out there. My build: W10 pro, Corsair AX1500i psu, Samsung 1TB 850 Pro ssd, AMD FX 9590 liquid cooled, Crosshair V Formula-Z, 4 sticks of the best GSkills I could find.. One of my Nvidia GTX 660s fans quit and amazingly didn't burn up. Just for the hell of it I pulled out my old GeForce 9800 GX2s and not one Nvidia driver will run them on W10. They say for W10 but when drivers installed locks up, won't get passed the windows log in. I tried all drivers including compatibility mode. W10 even downloaded there supposedly Nvidia correct drivers for these cards and instant freeze or worse. W10 will run the cards without Nvidia drivers but can't get full screen without Nvidia drivers installed or 1080p or quad sli. And of course W10 keeps downloading it's drivers which crash my machine big time over and over again. I have 6 of these old GX2s and, not the newest on the planet or best but used to be great for running quad sli on Vista. Amazing they were made for W Vista but won't work on anything else even though Nvidia makes new updated W10 drivers for them. I guess I will by a couple of 1080Ti's. Man I hate to trash good equipment, 3 of them are new in the box. I tried them in my other build running W7 and a no go. Running Vista in quad sli they played everything I threw at them maxed out but man do they get HOT, fiery HOT. Had to run AC in the room on high. And I thought the 660s were good cards and now there also obsolete. Man how time flies. I almost bought some Titan cards until I luckily saw this video. Saw some used ones on Ebay for around 300 bucks. Anybody who knows a trick on how to get these GX2s to work on W10, I would really appreciate the help in advance. I just wanted to use them for a few weeks for the fun of it. I am a 62 year old gamer and not a pro on the tech stuff. Favorite games so far, Crysis, Farcry, & Halflife 2. While digging through my box of old cards I found a couple with King Kong labels on them and a King Kong game disc in the box, so old and so funny. Might have to try them for the fun of it. King Kong is the only game I could never finish years ago. Thanks for your any help in advance. G
