"Power Slap: Road to the Title" is a reality show based on the growing phenomenon of organized slap-fighting across America. Each contestant slaps the other with 30 seconds of recovery time between hits. The so-called sport is recognized in Nevada and has a league run by the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship, Dana White. Neurologist Dr. Gayatri Devi tells Inside Edition that slap-fighting could cause brain damage.

  • do we really need neurologists to tell us this? it's common knowledge that if you slap or hit the human head, it may cause brain damage. (playing football will as well... my high school friend died as a result a home game... went into a coma and died after spending 15 years in a hospital bed :(

  • As a girl who at 25yrs was hit on the highway at 55mph, I was at a complete stop, AM rush hour, by a box truck driver who fell asleep and ended up w/trigeminal neuralgia, then other never and back problems in the following years (not sure the cause of those problems), intentionally causing myself serious harm for entertainment or money is insane! I live w/severe pain everyday, have to take meds w/terrible side effects, and my life has been ruined. Nothing is worth that! I’d give anything to reverse the damage that was done to my brain and/or spinal cord but I can’t. All I can do is warn others to please don’t take ur good health for granted. It could all be gone tomorrow, but not where u die, as I would have preferred if I knew then what was going to develop, rather where u live in a state of constant misery, praying for death just to find some peace and relief of the pain.
