I saw, in person, Penix two times, and frankly he is the best pocket QB that has made it to the NFL since Herbert. He isn't as tall, but he can make all the same throws, and he throws a more catchable ball over the top, into the breadbasket, than Herbert, or any of the other QB prospects this year coming into the league. Edit: I am praying my Sliver and Black have him drop to them at #13 overall.

If you mean he can't play in big games, literally every game washington has is a big game. If they lost a single game, they don't get the grace of being let in by name alone. • Penix might be the best QB in the draft. The 40 time is secondary. Poise is one of the most important attributes in high level sports and he has elite poise. This is shaping up like last year, where Scouts overlooked how important Poise, throwing over the middle of the field, and letting the play develop are so important to projecting success at a higher level. At least scouts had Stroud at 2 in the last draft, with Penix projected as the 5th best QB, there’ll more than a dozen teams kicking themselves for whiffing on him.

  • The biggest unknown for all these young qb's is the OC they get, and the team's willingness to build their system around their skill sets. If you draft Pennix, build an offense that looks like Washington's. Draft JJ, your offense should look like Michigan's. These OC's that try to fit a qb to their system either get a quarterback that fits their system, or you end up ruining a young qb and your team (looking at you, Chicago).

It was both genius and fortunate for Ryan Poles to get the best WR on the Panthers, thereby increasing Bryce Young's rookie struggles and ensuring a better draft pick this year. He's right about Adams - if they trade Adams to get a rookie QB, they're making life so much more difficult for that rookie.

  • This is what separates Colin Cowherd from Skip Bayless.. when you listen to an interview Colin conducts , he knows how to guide it, interject and add to the conversation, instead of making the conversation all about his opinions and views. I don’t think Colin ever played pro football but it’s not about that, it’s more about his skill at bringing out the gold from the person he is interviewing, and not about selfishly making it about his opinion and years of knowledge, which doesn’t include actually playing.. covering sports, although exhausting and very challenging in its own right, is nothing compared to actually playing sports at any level, and the challenges that includes.

  • Penix is very good at avoiding sacks and making subtle moves in the pocket. But he doesn’t attack the middle of the field enough and too often he throws fastballs when he should throw a change up which is why I don’t think he’s the best pocket passer in the draft. I’m an IU fan too so I love seeing him getting talked up but I gotta keep it real.

  • Jones is correct. Penix throws a much better ball than Caleb, Jayden, Drake, and the kid from Michigan. He plants his foot, makes a quick decision, has the best release, and is accurate.

  • Not even to 10 in front of Broncos at 12 and Minnesota at 11? Jets at 10 could be in the market for a new QB to sit a year behind A-Rod

  • I think Michael Penix is the steal of the draft. The fact he is projected to be the 6th QB picked has to be just injury concerns. Out of all the QBs in the draft he's the one Im least concerned about.
