The Guys Discuss Klopp’s Kids Beating Disappointing Chelsea | Carabao Cup Final Reaction | EP 87

2024 ж. 9 Мам.

How does Jurgen Klopp continue to get the very best out of his players, even when their backs are against the wall? Could Chelsea have done more and been more committed in going for the win? Are managers going over the top with some of their celebrations after matches now?
Gary, Alan and Micah also discuss team-mates fighting after Sheffield United’s Vinicius Souza and Jack Robinson clashed at Molineux.

  • Win OR lose Klopp still goes to every single player at the end of a game and hugs them: It's never going to be more apparent how much of a disaster that our manager is leaving, than it was on Sunday. It's quite obvious now that Klopp was building a club, not a first eleven, building for the future, a future that he will not now be a part of.

  • I jam watching this a day later than this was released. Man United just won their FA Cup tie with the IDENTICAL goal situation to the Virgil disallowed goal. It is exactly the same, a defensive player offside, holds up an offensive player moving towards the goal, while another player meets the cross to score.

    @TR4zest@TR4zest2 ай бұрын
    • It's not "IDENTICAL" - one was a low cross/pass into the near post nowhere near Varane and his marked player, the other was a looped cross to the back post that crossed the path of Endo/Colwill.

  • Hojlund can't be out of the running for the "goals scored in consecutive games" if you're accepting Sturridge. Sturridge scored in PL 1 match, missed 8 PL matches due to injury, then scored 7 in a row in the PL after coming back from injury - making 8 total. So why would Hojlund missing matches due to injury immediately take him out of the running when it didn't for Sturridge?

    @em_si@em_si2 ай бұрын
    • Also, the Premier League have said that Hojlund was on a 6-game scoring streak despite Hojlund missing the Nottingham Forest match during that streak so I think Gary or someone behind the scenes has confused what the Premier League count as consecutive matches.

  • Thinking of it in another way, the fact that Virgils first goal was disallowed by VAR helped pool win it .the game would have played out differently. had the goal been given then Chelsea may have had time to get an equaliser ,the goal coming three minutes before the whistle.

As the goal came with no time to recover. It was inevitable Liverpool would score knowing their second half track record.

  • The comments about VAR at the beginning of the podcast dont align with Garys complaints about the goal that was disallowed against Leicester on friday. Micah stated that its for the absolute howlers. Gary says that it was blatantly onside. (As a leeds fan im not disputing that it probably should have been given) When in real time, at real speed you can see why it looks like the Leicester player touched it onto daka, who i think scored it. Therefore i dont think its absolute howler. But i raise the question, does the VAR need to change/get rid or does the application of VAR need changing? Howard webb states that it isnt there to re-referee the game. Well what is it there for? I dont think we’ll ever be able to get rid because not only is it embarrassing for the people who brought it in but its generating too many clicks/comments online. which then generates more money around football, so more people are getting their claws into the game and ruining it imo.

  • Wrong decision on disallowed goal but VAR has to look at lead up to every goal right. That’s fine but the interpretation again and decision is wrong. As mentioned Endo offside but not interfering and no way Colwill was or could’ve marked Van Dijk. Who was VAR, if Paul Tierney what a surprise, Liverpool fans might lose league due to VAR at spurs
