Sadly that was me...yes the stabilizers were working...it was that bad...the waves and the winds were coming from different directions that why it was difficult to keep her straight...they dont call it a washer machine for nothing. ..I've been in some nasty seas...but this was definitely where I found the my limits and those of the boat...
Glad you are safe. I've been on the water for 55 yrs and I had to shake my head a few times watching that size of a yacht getting tossed around like that. Hope everything was batten down. A few dishes or stemware broken? All the Very BEST!! Cheers from Vancouver Canada:-)
I could tell that the stabilizers were working, not too much rolling. What kind do you have? I'm going to assume fins? I don't think you'd have a problem with a gyroscopic device not working. What size do you think those were around? I'm sure the bow is pretty high up. Good job, just a lousy day.
Try matching the speed of boat & the waves when you have a following sea like. that next time.
I captain a 87 foot through there and I have done something extremely similar lol, the waves astern are just overpowering and the rudders never seem to turn fast enough. We put stabilizers on our boat made for a 130' yacht so we have some nice roll authority :)
@@craigrobberts7673 That doesnt work with these larger boats. Broaching is your greatest fear and the waves are coming from multiple directions and speeds. Also haulover generates standing waves from the uneven bottom.
I hope they have good cupholders and grab rails throughout. Its funny how this boat looks so huge at the dock like an office building but out on the ocean it is like a tiny cork. I have been on cruise ships that were in the same situation only larger. It doesn't matter how big your boat is. The sea is bigger.
Calm down man, it’s a simple video of a boat going through some fucking waves, there is zero need to describe what we can clearly see and even less then zero need to hear about anything else of you past with boats and waves… calm down
What really matters is a good captain w/experience! And deck crew .
@@Captain_Clark_CDoryAdventures well said 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I was on a boat with 4 nuclear reactors we would head straight for the biggest waves and storms to wash it
@@lilacscentedfushias1852 😎💯🙏
It's cool to see large yachts having fun for a change! Skilled drone usage changes everything in filming !
Looked liked they were out testing the stabilizers (Azimut 116 uses TRAC) after service. That really did look like fun.
These crusings are really relxing to watch. Keep it up! Nice how even the bigger ones mamageing the waves spotlessly.
Amazing drone footage. Well done to the operator that big motor boat really tossed around like a cork
Your drone shots are amazing! Truly show how the boats act in the waves and the good/bad jobs that the captains do.
Capt Stan’s boat Therapy-IV out there killing it. If anyone wants to do some deep sea fishing then I highly recommend going with Capt Stan.
Stan's da Man.
Love the drone footage of the big yacht in the waves!
Amazing drone footage! Being a drone pilot myself know exactly the risk you took with those low level close to water shots.👊 Love it
I wonder when the champagne-glasses spin out of the holders.Early in the video I think. LOL!
Cool drone footage but doesn’t FAA part 107 require the operator to always have visual sight of his drone or have an assistant watch it? I want to fly a drone but keep getting different stories about rules
@@PalmBeachesPaul Yup, Pilot or Visual observer. But nothing about this footage would lead me to believe that the drone was not within VLOS here.
@@PalmBeachesPaulin Deutschland genau das gleiche Theater. Ich halte mich nicht daran
I really appreciate your videos, my wife and I towed our Bayliner 195 from north Alabama to the keys last week and I was forced to stay inside by these strong winds that are giving these boats fit. We had a good time thanks to being able to plan for little to no Atlantic time. Florida Bay and the Gulf were plenty of fun! Thank you for the videos!!
Inside or outside, always fun either way!
Agreed with others GREAT drone footage...!!! She got tossed "A BIT" but it just goes too show you that you need a boat this big to pummel through those waves.
Did you not see the last boat? It looked like it was 14 feet and did Wayyyy better than that huge yacht.
@@jakobfolmar6604 First off the boat was WAY bigger than 14ft. You'd be a fool to put a 14 footer out in this kind of chop. Second he had more experience as a captain. He basically let the current take him in ease on and off the throttle. Third and finally the huge 100ft used it's size to barrel through the waves which it can do. And why i said initially you need a boat that big to get through a channel with waves that rough. I live on Cape Cod, MA year round i know all about boating and big waves my friend. It's not just Florida that deals with big waves...(g)
Excellent drone flying and footage, a great KZhead channel is now even better.
Amazing how drones have changed everything. Cool perspective, crystal clear 4K. Love watching! Following seas really push your ass back and forth. That's why I have a suicide knob on my tritoon wheel. Sometimes you really got to crank it back and forth!
Wow !!!!..that's the best Drone footage I've seen so far well done 👏 !
What a great ad for Azimut!! The big beauty handled a angry lady haulover nicely. The ride was bumpy for sure but she made it thru! Nice video as always!! Ty
Great drone footage, useful info for boat designers and Chris Craft shoed great handling lessons.
This is a Chris Craft??
That last guy knows what he is doing! Amazing to watch people do things that are tough to the amateurs. Whether it be a pilot of a plane or a captain of a ship. Just really amazing to watch someone that really knows what they’re doing.
Some of these boat handlers/captains really do a good job like watching this guy right now blue boat white top blue top of the boat American Flag blue shirt He's killing it
that is amazing, the waves and the Yacht : )
I owned a fresh water boat for 45 years of my life but always got sick when I hit the big water. This brings back bad memories. Beautiful water and lets me know why I still want to go out.
That CC knew when to call it and do some ICW fishing. Also looks like the Captain knew how to handle following seas.
Excellent drone footage. Thanks.
Awesome drone footage....that's the best way to feel these boats in their element
Love the drone footage!!
Why don't the kids in the Chris Craft have PFD's on?
Great job, ChrisCraft pilot!!!👍🏻🙂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Beautiful. Nice job all around.
Beautiful shots! Impressive helmsmanship on the Chris-Craft starting about 7:12. Somebody understands those waves!
Love ❤️ the footage, beautiful boats and water.
Even the big boys have to bow down to the power of the seas.
What a beautiful looking boat that Azimut 116 is. Great film work there toom
116" amazing the power of this inlet.
I feel like that Azimut should have been a little more aggressive with the throttle, those following waves had their way with that big girl!
I was just about to type the same thing… I’m sure it has the power to beat all the incoming stuff. Whatever, when you’re the only guy out there, I guess you can take up the whole inlet?
He was at full throttle coming in, what you don't realize is the power to weight ratio is tiny on these boats compared to what you are used too. It cant move how you think and whats scarier is the ocean dictates your direction of travel, so going faster means less time to correct course. I captain an 87' yacht through haulover so i have experience. If you do the math on the force applied to the hull from the wave astern, it dwarfs your rudders abilities to counteract it.
@@albertcaro6191 And even the engines.
@@albertcaro6191 Thank you for that explanation. I love learning some seafaring information from an actual captain.
That Chris Craft let those following seas nearly get him more time than I have fingers to count with. One time it was 4-5 inches or less to spare.
Awesome drone footage. Nice job.
Great footage. Gives a whole new perspective
Hi ZipZapPower . LOVE your videos . Amazing drone footage . These are the biggest waves (except during a storm) I've seen at Haulover . Amazing to see 116' superyacht tossed around . Much respect . Mark (Toronto) 👍💙🌈
Thanks! She did put on a show!
The Drone work is outstanding. Much better than watching from shore with the stationary camera.
The drone footage is slick!
This is fantastic footage. I feel like I need to come up for air .this monster boat being tossed around like something in my swimming pool.😆👍👍👍 awesome thumbs up thank you for doing this kind of thing I love it
Yep, the chriscrafht skipper demonstrated “being kind to your passengers” and good control, nice pleasant sailing in rough water.
That captain on the 116 footer was really good. Good ship handling, fenders were stowed and he had the perfect power setting coming in and going out. Good captain=good crew.
No he wasn't, he was rubbish. Too slow for conditions, should be 5+ knots more with trim tabs set full to bow up. By setting the speed so low, he couldn't keep it in a straight line and was allowing the sea to dictate the course.
@@CommanderStarblaster I agree, the head speed was virtually non-existant and made for a horrible voyage.
I have to disagree I'm afraid. Returning to harbour he was going way too slow and being tossed about when surfing down the waves losing steerage way. He needed more speed to stay in control. A decent captain would have had that thing steering a constant course.
I have to agree with the others. Piloting was terrrible. I considered that it might be some kind of wierd test run to see how the boat would tolerate horrible handling.
Beautiful
Great Captain. ....
I really love the Drone footage keep up the good work
Love your new vids ZZ.
GREAT views!
I applaud the skipper of the Black/Blue & white Center Console. That was an AMAZING piece of seamanship in the method he brought the boat about in the current and waves!!! Watch it, it is beautiful and simple…
Having navigated Haulover since the early 1970's and having enjoyed these videos, my only conclusion is that I am not certain who is less talented: The people who captain the majority of the boats going in and out of Haulover, or the original engineers who located and designed Haulover.
Nice catch whit your drone
Your drone skills are off the chain!
First time Iv'e seen drone footage on this channel. Excellent work!!
lovely to see these in their element, yet with built up area as the backdrop, keep em comming : )
9ce Drone Shots 🤸 🏁 👍
Great picture quality Thanks. UK
Yeah definitely an Azimut 116, a beautiful yacht!
THE SO-CALLED, 'QUALITY CAPTAIN,' HAS A YOUNG KID IN THE STERN WITHOUT A LIFEJACKET....BRILLIANT!!
Love those Chris Crafts.
I'd go out with that Chris Craft pilot any day. He has a good read/feel of the swells and his craft. Nice job!
The captain of that Cris-Craft was doing a truly excellent job. Waves? What waves?
He sure was doing a great job. It is much harder than it appears. Handling a large following sea is super tricky and I have gotten into horrible trouble before with a flybridge. It will flip you on your side and send you flying.
Fun to watch someone that can " feel " the surf and ride it. Evan more fun to do!! Patiently waiting in michigan.
Great drone video as always! Thank you! (And.....Maybe next time that Chris Craft captain should recommend a life jacket for the little guy in back. :)) )
That would’ve been a great Freeman ad, by blowing away that super yacht, with the passengers not spilling their drinks 😂
Looked to me like captain did superb job
Wow great pictures
Beautiful sharp camera drone work.
Beautiful shot guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
killer drone pilot / footage
The big girl in the blender!! Well said! Thanks for the great video as always!
Haha, thanks
This is some insane drone piloting
Great drone footage!
excellent video !
Love the drone video.
That Rybovitch could’ve very easily just muscled his way through that, that’s what they’re built to do. Nice boat, I love the blue color
Where did you get that it’s a Rybovich? I can’t seem to find it in their registry
That’s great drone work!
High volume bow shapes are a hand - full and the stern shape enables these results. Not the most efficient hull form.
Great video....kudos!
It funny, just as I thought she'd cleared the channel your note came up about not being done with the waves... and you were right Zip-Zap!
Haha, yep.
My dad would never EVER let us go without lifejackets-even on the calmest day. Can't believe the CC had kids in an inlet, no life jackets. I don't care how good of a pilot you are...
Agreed 100%. And no one was watching the child. Could have been overboard in a flash and no one would know.
Its not a plane tho...
@@bigkiwial skipper🤣
Not necessary in this situation. Kid was well protected. If you're clamoring for this kid wearing a lifejacket in this scenario then you'll clamor for him wearing one on a cruise ship, plane, or the beach. Lifejacket Karens are getting out of control.
Your dad raised over cautious cowards by the sounds of it.
Well to slow or not no body sank. Fun view from my Lazy boy.
Damn you guys are the best!!
Ooh! Chris Craft!
Amazing this is next level filming keep up the great work
Thanks, we trying to push the limits.
When you are kayaking in open ocean with a following swell the craft behaviour is identical and exhausting because you just have to keep hammering along. I was doing a 20 km return jaunt one time and had 2 -3 m rolling swell behind me on the way back and I got a real work out. This was on a 3 m sit on kayak. I much prefer going into big swell.
Nice drone footage 💯
The 116 could not have been at a worse speed, either high or low. That's like lessons on ship sinking.
When a 116ft boat gets tossed around like that..its time 2 stay home..fire up the Bbq n. Get a cold beer..till the ocean calms down..
The little kid in the Chris Craft all by himself !!! Shocking, it takes a moment and all hell breaks loose. Parents for Gods Sake be more responsible.
I’ve done Haulover inlet twice. Once in and out in my Chapparal 17.9’ and another time in my Sea Ray 29’ Sundancer. Both we’re harrowing experiences. I will never go in/out there AGAIN🤪
Do drones have a short shelf life from the sea spray?
Nice Drone work man!
3:18. I love when the lil boats change their. Minds
Fantastic video work!
Clearly easier to surf back in than it is to beat out…nice drone work!!
Nice drone work
I recently got a Wellcraft for my wife. It was the best trade I ever made!
Great drone camera work! Takes lots of practice to be this good!
It was that more than the 2 1/2 meter sea state that looked like on the pocket super yacht? That definitely is the the semi displacement displacement look pretty as opposed to passage maker pocket super yacht. My guess would be princess but there's a couple of other brands that look very similar.
Nice drone work!
The family of dorks down visiting dad, on her side, for seven really long days. Mom goes, "Where's Bobby, did anyone see Bobby?"
UNBELIEVABLE HOW FAR DRONES HAVE COME IN A FEW SHORT YEARS
@zipzappower how do you remove the sound of the drone? Which drone are you using?
That quadcopter has amazing range what model of quadcopters are you using?
