How to Change Ringtread on Tyre Casing by Recap || The Most Amazing Process of Retreading Old Tyre
Retreading is a process through which we can use our old tyres. In this method, a worn casing of a tyre that has a good structural quality is taken off and put through a process in which it gets a completely renewed tread and sidewall rubber. After that, the revamped tyre is taken forward for a curing process in which the new rubber is vulcanized to the original casing and hence, the tyre gets a newly made tread pattern.

Hmm…. at least they are doing something for the planet. they recycle old tires. Otherwise new tires would roll. there are enough of them. enough big companies!
Well done guys, saving the planet by recycling, and reconditioning tyres for those who cannot afford thousands for new tyres. Keep up the good work
Yeh sure. Looks like they care about environmental controls. This kind of work only pollutes for longer periods of time the tyre is working. Modern tyres are made from recycled materials
@@justahuman8790 lol. Modern tyres are made from recycled materials. Pls go read about how many heat cycles rubber can go through before it becomes unstable mess, modern tyres are not wholly made from recycled materials, they add a lot of petro chemicals to it so it regains it's elastic quality, that process only reduces cost of material sourcing not saving the environment. If you have ever been to a rubber tree farm, you would realize it's actually one of the few sustainable processes that exist today.

Fascinating to watch with somewhat different equipment. I grew up working in my Dads tyre retreading and recap factory in New Zealand. Everyday after school and school holidays thru the 1960's. At that time Dad has been retreading longer than anybody else in NZ and he worked 6 days a week. When I was 15 I started work full time. I did everything with the exception of buffing heavy truck tires which were a 2 man job.

Retreaded tires are a huge business the world over. It's great to see this company not letting these tires go to waste. These guys are skillfully turning the used casings into a valuable product. Great video. Please make a video about line boring.
true on some equipment not on a semi-truck
@@jenniferwhite6089 Sorry but that's incorrect. 50% of tires sold for Semi-trucks in the US are retreads. Around the World the numbers are similar. A quick Google search will back up my comment. Companies like Goodyear and Bridgestone retread all semi-truck tire casings that meet specifications. The process in this video is the same as shown in this video. I know because I have been to the plant where Goodyear has their tires retreaded. Again, this is something that can be easily researched.
Hi, do you know what is that huge vaccumlike machine where the tires are stored for 8 hours for? what does it do?
@@ADRIAN-zh4ti It's a pressure vessel also known as an auto autoclave. It applies heat and pressure to cause the tire casing and new tread to fuse together. It's like a giant pressure cooker. This is different from remolded tires. That's where rubber is added to the casing and then one at a time placed into a pressure chamber that fuses the two together, forms the rubber into tread, and vulcanizes it. Most used semi truck tires are reteaded/recapped. Large tires for tractors, wheel loaders, huge mine trucks, and the like often use remolded tires. That has to do with the large amount of rubber needed to remake the heavy tread lugs. I'll look to find a video of that process and link it in another reply.

Retreading was common also for car tires 30-40 years ago here (Norway). Still sold for lorries and heavy machines. But I guess the amount of work makes the process unfeasible for cheaper tires. Regarding the video: These gentlemen show great craft with simple equipment. And as a Northerner who thinks around 25C is the highest comfortable temperature, I cannot imagine how it is possible to do such hard work in a very hot country. Impressive!

This process makes sense in sparsely populated areas with and modest access to manufacturing, and low traffic. Beyond that it seems a lot like heating a tent with vehicle exhaust: it will work, but the consequences are predictable.
