All these other youtubers with immaculate units, brand new lifts and shiny rubber floors, yet you're there, car on bricks, no flashy equipment, putting out PROPER QUALITY videos and some of the best workmanship I've ever seen. This is some truly impressive stuff. Also, not having to wait 3 months to see one car seat installed is really refreshing. A whole car rebuild in one episode. Amazing
You can just say DONUT, LOL
That's why I don't skip to the end
I completely agree man I enjoyed every second of the restauration process and the fancy équipement would'nt make the video any better it's perfect as it is.
So a car build which usually takes 20 episodes over a year has been done on 1 episode in 23 mins!!! That's why they say "You'll Never Beat The Irish"!!!! Amazing stuff, quality of videos is better than quantity!! Amazing work.
Yes! Thank you man
💯
Guy’s a legend.
@@Mad4Motors_ hey awesome work you did to this man; I'm a car(honda) enthusiast myself, did you go to school for this ?
Hope you don't mind me asking but how many hours went into the build?
1 car, 1 restoration. All in 1 video!! No part 2 and no unnecessary commentary. I love this! Subscription earned👌🏽
He makes all that hard work look so easy, that must be what it’s like when you enjoy what your doing. I just found these vids on you tube, now I’m hooked. Great job.
Welcome aboard!
The valve cover is just awesome :) Well done.
indeed, for a moment I thought oh no it's not the red crackling finish........but so glad i was wrong.
It does look great but at first I thought it was going to be naked (no paint) - I love that look too.
Awesome indeed!
Yes back to original red! Thanks
Well done saving this car. I personally imported a 1997 black EK9 from Japan to UK back in 1999/2000. Think it was the first black one in the UK at the time. Reg was R690 KVV. Cost me close to £14k by the time I got it on the road. A lot of money for a car like that back then. Absolutely loved it. Eventually sold it to a young US serviceman from Molesworth airbase. He had it a few years then sold it back to one of my best mates. He kept it for a few years then sold it to a lad from Ireland who took it back there. Don’t know what happened to it after that but hopefully its still about. I’ve had loads of cars since then but the EK9 is still one of my favourites. Amazed at the prices they command these days.
Looks like it got exported around 2006-2007
I got a 92 dx manual for 200 bucks
Yes probably about somewhere here parked in a shed! Thanks for watching!
I was seriously drooling at every second of this video. Your skills are god-hand. Absolutely the most incredible single-handed restoration I've ever seen in my life! I wish I had 1/10th of 1% of your talent!
Same.
Literally such a beautiful car, thank you for restoring her. Those late 90's civics have a special place in my heart
One of my favorite parts was when he pulled the emblem off the window sill out of the Cobb webs still new in the package, you know this car has been his dream, and he finally got to build and finish it, props to you on your build!!
Pulling that off the shelf must have been partially emotional.
@@paulbhager , for sure...

My very same thought. I'm like well shit I have one too but I don't have a ctr yet😂😂😂😂

Mind is blown once again. Kudos. His kids are so lucky. The things they are going to learn and the skills they are going to acquire are priceless.
So satisfying to see the previous owners' sins being undone bit by bit. Also, you didn't cheap out on any of the trim bits, some of them cost a fortune by now. Hats off to you!
Honestly the car looks like it was likely stolen and gutted
@@ErectileSceptile what good would it be to restore a car with a stolen Vin
Hey means a lot. thanks
This was pure raw material and no mainstream crap. A joy to watch. Please don't change it.
Hey thanks for the nice comments .Thank you👍
Truly appreciate watching this restoration, thanks for your time and your commitment to bringing her back to life.
I had a 1994 Honda Civic EX sedan in college with a few minor mods.... air intake, cat-back exhaust, 17" rims.... she wasnt gonna win any races, but it was fun to drive. This really takes me back to those days. Awesome job!
This really puts into perspective how challenging, yet fulfilling, rebuilding a dying car is. Great job!!
Yep, did the same with a 1996 VW Golf 3 Cabrio with a "rare" engine for the cabrio, the 1Z TDI. Best engine i ever had in a car and probably will have.
You removing that Logo from its shelf storage, cobwebs and all then pristinely placing unto the front of the car is like an adventurer finding a rare artifact from an ancient ruin then carefully placing it, thus making the restoration complete! Awesome video and excellent work you have done!
It’s like a gearheads version of Indiana Jones.
I was expecting light and sparkles to shoot out once you mounted it, lol.
One of the best restoration videos I have ever seen! Thanks for the excellent editing and attention to detail ❤
That white looks so much better than that black vinyl. And the fact he managed to fit the restoration into one video makes this channel one of the best on KZhead. Keep up the good work, mate!
God bless you sir for saving this beautiful EK9 Type R. I've been wanting to own one of these my entire life. The closest I got was an EG6 with an Integra Type R engine and transmission. It was my favorite car that I've ever owned. Perfectly reliable and quick for what it was. I owned it and took great care of it for over 10 years and never let it get a single spot of rust. I never put a turbocharger or supercharger on it, so the best I was able to get was 180 horsepower at the wheels in N/A trim after some bolt on performance parts and weight savings. Still, it was great power for such a light car. I still miss that car to this day. The guy I sold it to for $6,000 ruined it in less than a month. First thing he did was rip the engine out to sell it and get most of his money back, and he put in a $400 B20 engine from a CRV. I think he meant to do a B20 Vtec with a B16 head, but it never happened. He tried to drive the car throughout the winter and quickly wrecked it in less than a month. It really upset me to see the car completely ruined in under 30 days after I spent over 10 years taking good care of it, swapping in the B18c and LSD transmission, upgrading the intake manifold to the Skunk 2 Ultra with port matched 67mm throttle body, all new hasport motor and transmission mounts, whiteline sway bars and end links, 5 lug conversion with brand new hubs and brakes front and rear from an Integra Type R, body work and new paint when I first got it, 2.75 inch exhaust from the headers back. I had the car tuned on a hondata S300 I had installed into the P28 Computer. You did a wonderful job restoring your rescued EK Civic Type R. I'm glad it was you that found it and saved it from becoming complete piece of scrap to be crushed. Extremely good restoration.
Niiiiiice...I can only wish & watch these jobs...Nissan has a de stroked 2.0 to a 1.6 that puts out 175hp...8200rpm engine non turbo...I can only dream of an engine like that...WHEWEEEE...ZIPPY...
My friend had 2000 Civic Si with Type R JDM engine/tranny swap supercharged, plus suspension, brakes, etc. Used it as track car. Then someone else bought it and crashed it. It was stinking fast. I know a Ph.D in physics and acoustics man, who still owns his track ready turbocharged Acura Type R - it's pretty much mint, accept for the track mileage. They even welded custom full exhaust based on program for Nascar cars. He also owns the original NSX.
I had two EG6s: a 1992 SiR II and a 1991 SiR. I've also owned a 2001 Integra Type R (DC5 model) and a 1997 Civic Type R. I currently own a 1996 Integra Type R (DB8). I love my DB8, but an EG6 with an ITR B18C swap is like my dream car. I will always have a soft spot for the EG6; and honestly, none of the Type Rs I have owned have ever resonated with me the way the EG6 has.
Frankly, I’m speechless. This is one of the most incredible car restoration videos I’ve ever seen.
This one video was better quality and more relatable than 100% of all mainstream gearhead channels.
Still slow
@@AngelValdovinos that fact that you’d post “still slow” on a video of this caliber just shows how pathetic your mentality is. This is a fantastic transformation of a Type R that would otherwise be scrapped. This man put in countless hours and you take 5 seconds to bash him. Shame on you.

I have been watching your stuff, the level of your craftwork is beyond limits. All done with just basic tools, no fancy lifts and crazy toolboxes.
Wow, that is the cleanest resto I've ever seen. And of one of the most iconic cars in the last 30 years.
Wow! That is one unreal transformation. 99.99% of specialists wouldn't have gone near that challenge with a barge pole but you took it on without a bother. Is this a hobby or is it a full time gig? You're gifted!
Yes but one I enjoyed!, thanks for watching!
I'm not much of a car guy or a honda fanboy but this was a superb bit of work. From the skill, knowledge, and determination to do all this, to the tasteful revival of a classic car. I love that you didn't go mad and basically just put it back together. Took off that awful wrap job, painted it a lovely white, refreshed everything, and left it as a pure job well done. Massive respect and thanks.
It always makes me feel good to see a classic car like this Honda Civic Type R restored to its former glory.
That was fantastic. I love those older civics and this one will now live on for so many more years. The style of those cars was so simple but extremely cool.
Not a big Honda fan but can really respect a compassionate and respectful restoration. No wraps, fart cans or silly paint job. Thing of beauty. Would happily drive about in that car.
He is the best restoration artist I've seen so far. He does everything by himself in his garage!! Love his two great assistants too.
I'm speechless, for one at how whoever owned this legend could treat it the way it was treated, but mainly because of the simply incredible job you did at restoring it pretty much from 0-100! Incredible, I wouldn't hesitate a second to own this!
it was probably stolen, gutted and dumped somewhere.

I watch your restoration videos repeatedly because you’ve motivated me to go to college to learn about cars. I plan to build cars like you one day.
Even tho I can see the video, it is difficult to comprehend how it is possible to restore such a neglected vehicle. Amazing and brilliant. The talent, problem solving and will power it must take to create what is now a piece of drivable art is above next level. I hope one day this car might find its way into a museum. Bravo.

The thing I love most about your restorations is that you do a really nice job, without being a perfectionist. A "good enough" job - and I mean that as a compliment. It reminds me that restoring my 98 hatcback is an attainable goal if I just want it to look good and enjoyavle again, without the expense and time of a "perfect" restoration. Love it man, thank you!

Civic Type-R is one of my favorite cars, no matter the year. What you did with this one, was pure art. It's so good to see people with the know how, restoring "old" things that should be kept in good shape. 80's and 90's in my opinion were the best decades for car lovers and enthusiast, shame people that had one of these, in most cases don't give them the value they deserve in my opinion, they end like the one you restored. Last thing, you did all that without a lift, which would surely help a lot, my respect to you man.
