Gelz! There she is, the unicorn Toybaru...she looks good. Awesome vid...keep it coming..can you do a vid on cylinder heads for our cars. Just to iron out some of the quirks. I have the block, just cat figure out if there is anything i can do for the rocker arms.
great explanation dude ...well done ...thank u
Could you make a “so you want” video over early 2000s lancers like the OZ rally edition please
I just got my first car really looking forward to make something nice out of it. It’s a w124 Mercedes-Benz from 1987 200series (with some engine problems) most could fix right away, some broken parts in the cylinder head. (Broken camshaft) Oh and when the engine is running the car shakes a lot and makes a lot of noise. Any idea what that could be ? I wil change the oil and oil filter. I hope someone can give me some tips. So I can make this car a bit nicer and wil last a lifetime. I am only 14 and don’t have a lot of experience. Best wishes from the Netherlands (hope my English is not to bad)
So If I run 18x9.5 with et35 or et38 with the tire 245/35r18 and lowering springs 0.5 drop I will not rub at all and have nice flush setup ?
I feel like y'all uploaded this specifically for me because I keep checking the website trying to figure out what wheel size I will need
Same bro been searching and bam pull up KZhead and here's this video in my recommended
T.I is goat bro
I feel the same way, especially considering the car I'm looking to get wheels on is the one he's using as an example.
Lol
This is perfect for first timers trying to learn about wheels and fitment! I've watched about 20 other videos and everyone just talks like everyone was a professional wheel installer. All they had to do was show us step by step examples as this guy did and what they rambled on would make since. Thank to this guy!
This video was extremely helpful, thanks guys! Here are the sparknotes of the vid for the boys and girls Hopefully it helps Backspacing for your wheels (measurement)- 1:52 Backspacing: is defined as the distance from the hub mounting surface to the inside lip of the wheel (measured in inches). More backspacing puts the tire closer to the center of the vehicle. A related term is known as offset, which relates the hub mounting surface to the centerline of the rim. (2:17) for diagram Compress your strut where you car would be on the ground Get a point of reference (ex. stick) that is long enough to measure (being above your brake rotors) Find the distance of the front mounting hub to the back where the 1st main point of contact of where anything is (ex. strut) - distance between front mounting hub to strut (ex. 8 ⅝ inches) BACKSPACING = 8 ⅝ inches FrontSpacing for your wheels (measurement) - 3:55 Once you figure out back and front spacing, you will know what width you will have to work with FrontSpacing is measured from the inside of the fender to the front of the mounting hub. Get a point of reference (ex. stick) that is long enough to measure (being long enough to go down from your inside fender to the same length as your mounting hub) Find the distance between front of the mounting hub to the inside of the fender (ex. 2 ½ inches) Width (Measurement) - 4:55 (Backspacing + Frontspacing) - 1 inch = Maximum wheel width You round to the nearest inch 8 ⅝ + 2 ½ = 11 ⅛ th inches 11 ⅛ - 1 = 10 ⅛ inches (before rounding) Final Answer: 10 inches Width (maximum) Diameter - 5:58 Use your best judgement for that. Ex. Don’t run a 22 inch wheel on a BRZ or FRS Offset - 6:23 Offset: Offset is the measured distance between the hub mounting surface and the centre line of the rim (in millimeters) (6:39) offset diagram and explanation Positive Offset: the mounting surface is going to move towards the outside of the car (wheel hub is pushed out towards the fenders). AKA means that the wheel is going to sink in more towards the car. Zero Offset: mounting surface is right in the middle Negative Offset: the mounting surface is being pushed towards the the back of the wheel towards the inside of the car while pushing the wheel out. You need to figure out the front spacing to find the backspacing of the wheel Once you find the backspacing of the wheel itself and the width, you can determine your offset Wheel backspacing = Width - Front Spacing Ex. (9:34) - Want to get more of a flush set up w/ a thicker tire Width: We decide to pick a 9.½ inch wheel width (241.3mm) Frontspacing: 2 ½ inches Wheel backspacing = 9.5 - 2.5 Wheel backspacing = 7 inches Results from calculator = 44-45 mm of positive offset Round to the nearest offset mm Offset/Backspacing calculator: www.fitmentindustries.com/tire-wheel-backspacing-offset-calculators Fitment galleries for examples: www.fitmentindustries.com/search-wheel-offset-gallery
U are the fuckin man, thank you
Ok. Seriously thank you for this. I spent 4 hours looking how to measure wheels perfectly. And I still didn’t know
Those Enkeis work as a fine OEM+ That's how they should look from factory tbh
Christian Wertti Toyota should have, those things look good!
THIS FINALLY ANSWERED ALOT OF MY QUESTIONS THANK YOU FITMENT INDUSTRIES!!!!!!!!!!
Man!!! you have no clue how much this actually helps!! Thank you guys so much. keep the awesome vids coming!!👊👊👊

Videos saved; Will be watching this video a few times to make sure I fully understand; wouldn’t want to pay any restocking fees 😅
Reminds me of my math teacher 👨🏫 still don’t get it 😴🤣

You guys do a great job. Keep up the great content! I love this channel!
Boom, Bop, Bang, now you're ready for your Nankangs.
When you started drawing on the board i got lost, like on a physics class lol. But you did explained it well, can't get any simpler than that!

Offset explanation is really good, thank you. I finally get it. Also great guide on measurements.
This video should have hundreds of thousands of views.
Hells Yeah!! This helps a lot! Useful information I was looking for. Thanks guys.... Keep up the good work 👍
This has to be the most underratted channel on KZhead
That 86 is so clean love the color
Appreciate you guys showing us how to figure this out 👌
Thanks for breaking this down for a simpleton like myself I actually just learned a whole lot.
Thanks for the video. This information is very important to know which rin to buy correctly!
Answered everything my brother and I were looking for and the calculator helps alot thanks👍
Can’t lie I was always scared to get wheels with all the math involved started following you guys now it’s no big deal plus the gallery really is a lifesaver to know what you’ll see on your car
Feel like this video was directed at me lol. Shoutout Christian and Beck for being SUPER patient with me. I'll be ordering my set up real soon. Lmfao.
Its alllll love! Can't wait to see the setup someday! 🙏🏼🔥

Thanks for the support! Glad we can help. 🙂 -Edgar
FRS cleeeaaan ASF nice fitment !
YESSIRR!
Imagine if he had bad fitment while working at FI
@@Madvillian that wouldn't be too good lmfao
Ope! Now that would be bougie 😂
@@FitmentIndustries Righttt! We don't need that in our life🤣

Just the video I needed! Before getting enkei Vortex5 wheels
i need this video like yesterday. thanks
Just simple and great video so thanks alot! going to get some wheels to Volvo 240 and hope to get the fitment what i'm after :)
This is extremely helpful because I’ll be looking to get some aftermarket wheels pretty soon for my Benz
I was literally just wondering how to do this and this helped vastly
Very helpful video. Thanks 🤙🏽
Good vid, I was looking into some new Enkei wheels for my G.
Thank god for this video 😭finally after months of trying to figure out what my future wheel fitment was going to be I did it thanks to you guys
Now I just need to figure out that wallet 🤧
this production quality is INSANE
Yes an info vid that’s useful! 🙏 thank you!
Absolutely awesome thank you
This helped me a lot.
Well explained. Thanks.

And now I get it. Thanks guys
thanks!!!!!!!!! I needed that video
Great vid very helpful! 👌🏻👌🏻
Bin waiting a long time for this video guys thank you 🤓🤓📚📚 A+++
YES! this is the video I was looking for to see if I can run the rims I want on my camry. This should be the first video everyone watches before buying any rims.
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 -Edgar
This is just such a knowledgeable video. Everything you guys do is for the better. Love it guys. Keep up the good work. Anyway you guys can add the background music in the description box for future videos?? I particularly like the song in this one but couldn’t find it. 😅
This was super helpful! I have one question and I hope you can clear this up. Still unsure how to determine the maximum negative offset based the backspacing. Could you technically go as low as a +20 offset with your current setup on your FRS? Would a thinner wheel allow you to go even lower?
Perfect! I have orange FRS too, but its all Toyota badges now.
very helpful!! thank god for a business such as FI.
Fitment industries is so much cooler considering the fact that they are based in Wisconsin. I don't live there anymore but it just makes it even more fun to support them.
Thank you
u a good teacher
if i heard correctly, are yall using Andre 3000's aquemini beat in the background? If yall are that made stuff seem so chill in the video lol
You guys are true Goats
🙏🏼❤️
very helpful video, thank you. Unfortunately being in the UK the FI gallery does not have my make and model car.
Add it with the closest version of the car we have and leave a comment in the box so we can place it on the gallery correctly!
Finally a video that help the noob like me to find the correct fitment. Cuzz im like huh all these number lol. But thank you for going into detail !!!
Technical Gure at work❤
I see you there you ol’ lefty you #southpaw Also please make this into a thing. I learnt so much and now I want more
I’ve been waiting for this video😅 I’m thinking about wide bodying a Lexus is300 but idk what sizes to get. I know the back wheels are supposed to be wider but I’m new to this😅
These are well explained but i was wondering if someone already came up with an autocad 2d visual of the wheel plus suspension and well where you can play around with the numbers and get the look at the same time
See, im the idiot who buys the wheels i want then modifys the whole car to make them fit 🤦🏼♀️ which ends up costing 5x as much
Lol sounds smart.
Smdh me too
DemigodQ60 ! ... then at that point ur like well f it im not paying return shipping cuz they dont fit... and u spend 10x the ammount to make it fit then return shipping would have been 😂
Hey man it happens! Happens to the best of us! 😂😭
Fitment Industries: GIRL* 🤦🏼♀️💁🏼♀️
Amazing Video. Very well Educated 👍
Thanks for the support! 🙏 glad it helped! -Edgar
@@FitmentIndustries I'll be contacting you guys. I got a project for you. LOL I want new shoes on my 350Z
We’re here for it! -Edgar
@@FitmentIndustries EXCELENT!!!! You're guys are my Only Option to make this RIGHT & TIGHT 👍
@fitmentindustries you guys just slapped me with god like Knowledge
excellent video right here! this will give me a peace of mind knowing what wheel specs i will begetting. this is much much appreciated. here is my question: my suspesion is old and most probably worn out. planning on getting a bc racing br for a daily 2005 4dr 325i. should i measure now or should i wait until the coilovers are installed and then measure? thanks!
Wait until you get the suspension!
thank you @@FitmentIndustries ! Also, on one of Alex's video, he mentioned that bushings need to be replaced as well when putting coilovers. however, i have no idea which bushings would need to be replaced. would you be able to tell me which ones?
Just bought some wheels from Fitment. Let's hope they get here nice a safe. Look for my car in the gallery once she's all done. It's a Black 86 with bronze konig 17x8 freeforms. Coilovers also.
I have a 2015 Honda Accord looking for the right type I keep hearing about chrome lip silver any help I was thinking about eBay your thoughts
That's a lot of technical info but if I understand correctly, I can run a 22"x14" on my NA Miata. Thanks, FI!
once the wheel is off do you just raise the brake rotor as far up as it would go? Im not sure how high the car usually sits. On stock suspension
Bro, I have a 99 GS300 and plan on going aggressive, And I have to say you couldn’t of made this any easier to figure out. This is nothing like my Yukon where I lift it 9 inches and throw some 24x 14’s with 40s on it and call it a day with minor trimming 😂😂 this shit is technical. Thanks again!
Glad we could help! 🤝🤝🤝 -Edgar
Dude, I feel like am back in math class. I got sleepy😂 I still like the video because I need to know this stuff
But I'm going to tell you what I LOVE about fitment industries, How fast they ship is NO JOKE, and they update you in the process. Outcasts garage needs to take notes from fitment industries.
I wish I had this video to look at when getting wheels for my car as mine is pretty rare. Fortunately my trial and error ended with 0 errors.
will the backspacing be the same in the front and rear??
Is it bad to find your wheels based on offset? For example, if I want a deep lip rim, is it bad to search for rims with a very low offset and then try to match up the rest of the dimensions?
Finished the video, and I’m sitting here thinking, “it’s probably a good time to tell y’all I barely passed math back in high school”😂😂😂😂😂
For your 9.5" wheel in the example shouldn't you have been using the full width dimension of 10.5" when calculating front space to take into account the outer edge that would actually come in contact with the fender?
How do I know if the rim that i would like to get is gonna clear with the caliper? 🤔
is there anyway possible that I can fit a 215/45/R17 tire on a 18x7.5 wheel?
This was frkingggg good top math shitz
So I'm a little lost around offset, so if your offset was 44, how much of a breathing room do you have to go lower or higher?
When final offset is found with the backspacing of the weel(7inch)..Does it mean that your setup will be conservative,or flush,etc...?
would i get suspension or wheels first
what coils are you running
finally!!! I understand.fac
Will 16x8 +25 fit got on a 2015 honda fit ex ?????
oh and Gels, your car is hella clean
So now how does the tire size especially sidewall height factor in?
how about measuring the caliper clearance especially if you have a bbk.
Is ESR to FI what HRE is to Wheels Boutique ?
How come I always get a -13 or -12 when calculate offset for a 8 in wide wheel with a 4 inch bs. From what you say, shouldn't that be a 0 offset?
So if I was to have this similar setup but on enkei Rpf-1 wheels, will it clear a big brake kit? I drive the TRD gt-86 and I want something light.
F3AR RPF1s clear brembos. See what size other TRD guys rub
It will clear! Reference our gallery for specs you can fit! - www.fitmentindustries.com/search-wheel-offset-gallery
How could you possibly know where your suspension is going to sag to when weighted?? I’d think you could get it somewhat close but if your talking about getting exact measurements I don’t know about that
I was going to order wheel and tire package from you guys but you don’t carry titan 7 wheels:(
