@@JamesStreet-tp1vbShe probably did not. She is a deeply insecure person and who doesn't know how to confront her failures or even her demons (or anything she is deeply affected by). For example, there was a podcast back in her UFC days where the interviewer asked her about how she felt about her dad's suicide who suffered from schizophrenia and depression many years back, she quickly change to the topic and talked about something else. Don't get it wrong, this isn't an easy question to handle but she basically has a tendency to dodge questions that needs her to confront her demons, it is also why she cannot handle a defeat back in the UFC. That said, there is no way till now she will be interested in reading comments about her, she will not be able to handle them.

I still feel the pride of being from the same hometown, cooking her food a couple of times, working with her bro and ex boyfriend, and baring witness to her entire kickboxing career every time I watch this fight. Seeing it live in a crowded bar in Albuquerque was electric. No other fight will stand out like this one did. I'll never stop feeling that pride.

The one bit of sympathy I have for Ronda is that I think she just got caught up in the marketing machine of the UFC. And they poured it on so thick, she started believing the hype around her. So when this KO happened, that image of invincibility (that Rogan was a big part in building) was just shattered. This loss made her realize that what she bought into was pretty much a lie. If you fought hard and it was close, then you know you have it in you to get just a bit better and fight just a bit harder and smarter. But when you get completely dismantled and exposed, It's hard to come back.

It wasn’t just Joe Rogan elevating her to deity status, it was the chief villain Dana White. He was making millions off Ronda. In September of 2015, a few months before this happened, Dana was publicly stating that Ronda would “rag doll Floyd Mayweather”, and could beat half the male bantamweight fighters in the UFC. It’s a shame we weren’t in the freak show fight era yet, where Floyd will pretty much fight anyone if they are famous enough. Rousey vs Mayweather would have been some funny shit. For about five seconds.

In the years since a lot of the blame has been put on her trainer Edmond Tarverdyan, and he deserves it. It's still on Rousey though for not examing what went wrong. She should have listened to her mom, who told her Tarverdyan didn't know what he was doing.

This is the single greatest thing to ever happen in sports. I watched this live and absolutely loved it. I've seen it over and over since then and every time I watch it, I still get the same big, stupid smile on my face as I did the very first time. Both fighters got exactly what they deserved in this fight. It's because of this fight, Holly could have lost every single fight after this one for the rest of her career and she'd still be the greatest athlete in the world to me.

It was a perfect storm. Holly was an already experienced boxer. Ronda, not really utilizing her judo or bjj. Like she wanted to box. But she just forgot how to box. Like not even amateur. And holly just exploited that, and yeah ... Glad to see ronda doing better

What I found most amazing about this fight, is that when Holly was introduced, barely anyone cheered. When Rhonda was introduced, the arena exploded with cheers. When it was all done, everyone cheered for Holly. How soon we forget our heroes.

A few months before this fight, Dana White claimed Ronda could “rag doll Floyd Mayweather”. He also said she could beat half of the male UFC bantamweights. And people actually believed that, I even had several internet debates about it. So delighted to see the hype train derailed in such satisfying fashion. I could watch this fight a hundred times and smile every time.

In the first minute Holly threw several 3-punch combinations where the third punch landed. Then it was just left-cross city for the southpaw, right down the middle, starting with that cracking elbow, that hurt Rhonda bad in the 2nd minute. Immediately she went for the desperation takedown.

So true!! I need to stop watching this video! I get teary eyed every single time!!! Holly Holm is a preacher's daughter and was taught well, she displayed class during the whole event, just a total class act, showing class and respect and concern when she knocked Ronda Rousey out, just plain CLASS!!! She was more than deserving of that Championship belt, and I fault Rondas management and trainers for Ronda losing that fight, they should have did their research more thoroughly on Holy, they would have known she was a boxer before she got into MMA, they would have known that it wasn't going to be a easy fight for Ronda, because when holly was a boxer she was involved in one of the bloodiest fights in female history, her opponent beat her up so bad they had to stop the fight, but even when they stopped it, Holy's face was completely blooded and she had blood in her eyes, and unbelievably, she was still smiling! It blew me away, I said to myself, that women is crazy!!! and I knew then it would take alot for Ronda to beat that woman!

Watching the fight you would think Holly was 6 feet tall. She seemed so superior on her feet with her hands. Rhonda won all her fights the same way. Take down and arm bar. When it becomes a kick boxing match she got her clock cleaned. Then beat the same way but even worse by Nunez.

Humorously, after a huge start there, she fizzled out. Now she's left, and she's burying WWE and various people there. She really knows how to burn bridges - and they gave her a LOT. A lot of money and a lot of wins/opportunities. She could argue her ability brought her to the top in UFC, but in pro wrestling it doesn't matter how good you are, the promoter has to give you the nod. Seems she didn't appreciate anything there either.

With pride comes the fall. Holly was the first opponent to make Rhonda fight *her* fight, instead of stupidly trying to out-wrestle Rhoda. Holly's stand-up game was so vastly superior, her corner knew who was the *real* 10-1 favorite. And Rhonda's corner should also have known it, and really worked on her stand-up game and ability to slip strikes and close distance against an elite striker with great mobility and a length advantage.

Rondas striking was so bad like i said it so many fights before, brah u can literally kick her ass just by using your jab cuz she got no standup she sloppy as hell. Unforthnately her past opponents were tailormade for her, grapplers all people who wanted to get close and had no common sense of standing back making Ronda come to them and just using her face as a punching bag. Holly showed how easy it was to smash Ronda as long as u kept distance. Train defensive clinch work to avoid her judo, and then just punch her in the face at distance cuz she got no standup she never did.

For example, there was a podcast back in her UFC days where the interviewer asked her about how she felt about her dad's suicide who suffered from schizophrenia and depression many years back, she quickly change to the topic and talked about something else. Don't get it wrong, this isn't an easy question to handle but she basically has a tendency to dodge questions that needs her to confront her demons, it is also why she cannot handle a defeat back in the UFC. That said, there is no way till now she will be interested in reading comments about her, she will not be able to handle them.

I still feel the pride of being from the same hometown, cooking her food a couple of times, working with her bro and ex boyfriend, and baring witness to her entire kickboxing career every time I watch this fight. Seeing it live in a crowded bar in Albuquerque was electric. No other fight will stand out like this one did. I'll never stop feeling that pride.

Not particularly really. Just a big fan of sportsmanship and respect, especially in MMA.
I like Holly.... She was like the polar opposite of Rousey. Humbleness vs arrogance. Rousey had believed her own hype and was just too big for her britches and Holly, sweet, Christian, respectful.... you couldn't have chosen a better match to take the belt away I think.
Ronda could've taken this loss with pride and used it to better herself, instead she let it destroy her entire fighting career
The one bit of sympathy I have for Ronda is that I think she just got caught up in the marketing machine of the UFC. And they poured it on so thick, she started believing the hype around her. So when this KO happened, that image of invincibility (that Rogan was a big part in building) was just shattered. This loss made her realize that what she bought into was pretty much a lie. If you fought hard and it was close, then you know you have it in you to get just a bit better and fight just a bit harder and smarter. But when you get completely dismantled and exposed, It's hard to come back.
It wasn’t just Joe Rogan elevating her to deity status, it was the chief villain Dana White. He was making millions off Ronda. In September of 2015, a few months before this happened, Dana was publicly stating that Ronda would “rag doll Floyd Mayweather”, and could beat half the male bantamweight fighters in the UFC. It’s a shame we weren’t in the freak show fight era yet, where Floyd will pretty much fight anyone if they are famous enough. Rousey vs Mayweather would have been some funny shit. For about five seconds.

Its been a hard week, back from injury training all week, feeling a bit old at 44 and here i am with a blunt watching this again. Holly isn’t a power puncher either, it wasn’t over quick, its so satisfying.

She pretty much went into survival mode after that wiff. All her training and gameplan went out the window and she was thinking how do I get myself out of this

This is the single greatest thing to ever happen in sports. I watched this live and absolutely loved it. I've seen it over and over since then and every time I watch it, I still get the same big, stupid smile on my face as I did the very first time. Both fighters got exactly what they deserved in this fight. It's because of this fight, Holly could have lost every single fight after this one for the rest of her career and she'd still be the greatest athlete in the world to me.

Rousey had just got too big for her britches...and Holly Holme is just so sweet and humble at all times. It couldn't have been a better matchup for Rousey to lose her belt in.
To be fair this wasn't just a big win for Holly. She embarrassed Ronda. Legitimately embarrassed her. This looked like Holly had spiritually dragged Ronda into her own world. Probably why Ronda had suicidal thoughts.
All these years later, the missed punch at 10:10 is still one of the most embarrassing whiffs I've ever seen in combat sports. Holly made Ronda look like she had never thrown a punch a day in her life. Holly was halfway across the octagon while Rousey was on one knee facing the cage like wtf lol.

It was a perfect storm. Holly was an already experienced boxer. Ronda, not really utilizing her judo or bjj. Like she wanted to box. But she just forgot how to box. Like not even amateur. And holly just exploited that, and yeah ... Glad to see ronda doing better
What I found most amazing about this fight, is that when Holly was introduced, barely anyone cheered. When Rhonda was introduced, the arena exploded with cheers. When it was all done, everyone cheered for Holly. How soon we forget our heroes.

A few months before this fight, Dana White claimed Ronda could “rag doll Floyd Mayweather”. He also said she could beat half of the male UFC bantamweights. And people actually believed that, I even had several internet debates about it. So delighted to see the hype train derailed in such satisfying fashion. I could watch this fight a hundred times and smile every time.

In the first minute Holly threw several 3-punch combinations where the third punch landed. Then it was just left-cross city for the southpaw, right down the middle, starting with that cracking elbow, that hurt Rhonda bad in the 2nd minute. Immediately she went for the desperation takedown.
Even after all the trash talk from Rhonda, Holmes stood by and watched as Rhonda was attended to. Classy fighter.

Holly Holm is a preacher's daughter and was taught well, she displayed class during the whole event, just a total class act, showing class and respect and concern when she knocked Ronda Rousey out, just plain CLASS!!! One of the most satisfying fights I have ever seen and a masterful performance by Holly Holm. A true classic that never gets old.
With pride comes the fall. Holly was the first opponent to make Rhonda fight *her* fight, instead of stupidly trying to out-wrestle Rhoda. Holly's stand-up game was so vastly superior, her corner knew who was the *real* 10-1 favorite. And Rhonda's corner should also have known it, and really worked on her stand-up game and ability to slip strikes and close distance against an elite striker with great mobility and a length advantage.
Rondas striking was so bad like i said it so many fights before, brah u can literally kick her ass just by using your jab cuz she got no standup she sloppy as hell. Unforthnately her past opponents were tailormade for her, grapplers all people who wanted to get close and had no common sense of standing back making Ronda come to them and just using her face as a punching bag. Holly showed how easy it was to smash Ronda as long as u kept distance. Train defensive clinch work to avoid her judo, and then just punch her in the face at distance cuz she got no standup she never did.
Holly’s performance is so fantastic that people never mention Ronda wobbling her in the first round
