I wish Elvis was still around. I miss watching the clips of his daily routine, sleeping by fireplace and coming out and walking around the yard.
I loved Elvis. I admired how he took advantage of every day of what was left of his life to walk tirelessly when he was so old, so weak, handicapped by his atrophied legs instead of just lounging on his blanket. He gave us a great lesson in courage.
💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 What kind of monsters take a healthy young dog and let it suffer and decay for nearly two decades chained to a filthy hut until it is physically and psychically wrecked and nearly dead... and THEN surrender it to a shelter so they don't even have to clean up afterwards? And what is wrong with the neighbours who watched this abomination all those years without intervening? All these persons should be treated for the rest of their lives like the poor soul they have ruined! Dear Takis, thank you so much that you have given Elvis his freedom and a loving family, so he could enjoy at least the last few months of his life - it is people like you and your team that still give me hope for humanity! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rest in Peace sweet Elvis! Iam so sorry for the miserable existence you had to live and your cruel owners who couldn't care less. I hope karma finds them. I am glad you can run pain free now and not suffering. Bless you and your rescuers.
Thank you Takis for making sure Elvis did not pass on at that dump that was his home chained up until his end. He was such an amazing dog going from strength to strength in the last months of his life. He deserves this tribute.
TAKIS ...You gave him FREEDOM & LOVE which probably felt like an eternity to him....now he is with God and that love is infinite . Thank You Takis and those who work with him. RIP ELVIS
Elvis' intestinal cancer was caused by dry food and so was malnutrition. Eating the worst dog food there is (dry food) this doggo survived 19 years! That means he was extremely strong. Yet the bad diet and lack of movement managed to cause irreparable damage. And the apathy he suffered from worsened his state. Beautiful Elvis. The way he followed Takis with his beautiful calm doe-brown eyes shows that he considered him a friend or maybe even a parent. After all he was just a child - every animal is a child mentally compared to adult humans. He needed love and affection. I just wish he got more of it. I know he is now in a better place. I wish him all the love and affection that he ever needed and wanted and than some.
Elvis's happy final months came on late night of his life, now enjoy your eternal life in heaven, dear Elvis.🐕🐕🦺🐶🐕🐕🦺🐩
Elvis had the saddest face it was heartbreaking seeing him in that terrible state. Thankfully he knew real love and kindness before he left this world. Godbless you Takis and ‘our’ dear beautiful Elvis running free and healthy 🌈

Apparently no one knew. The man himself finally called to have someone take Elvis away because he didn't want to deal with him any more. Humans, Not a fan. But then there's Takis....
I'm in floods of tears. The previous owner should be prosecuted. I'm so glad that he was able to experience love and freedom for his last few months of life ... thank you so much Takis and all your volunteers.

Elvis had a mission in this world, which was not understood by his first tutor. Even so, Elvis kept himself pure, and his deep gaze showed it. Even after 19 years, which for him was much longer, he needed to finish his mission. I believe he ended it in those who rescued him and managed to see his spirit. I also believe that he finished his mission in us. I believe that those who accompanied him during those few months of freedom could be touched by that supernatural spirit that was Elvis. The situation and rescue of Elvis was seeing an old dogs dream come true. He spent 19 years dreaming of a nice warm bed, good food and freedom. You made it happen at your shelter. He spent the last weeks of his life living in his dream life . Thank you! You and your helpers are EARTH ANGELS!!!!

I’m so relieved that he was well taken care of in his last days. I don’t want to even think about what would’ve happened if he had not been rescued. He knew love and comfort before he died and that warms my heart. Thanks to all who were involved in making this happen. It must be heartbreaking for all involved.

Elvis was the saddest and then the happiest dog story. We loved watching him getting stronger and enjoying being loved by the other dogs and the people who cared for him. Elvis wouldn't of known that people were talking about him in England (and in other countries too) but we were. Thankyou for this tribute to him.
My heart still breaks for Elvis. He had such a terrible life being so mistreated. I'm so glad he had a couple months off the chain, with food and lots of love. He got to enjoy other dogs, have a full belly, and rest on a nice bed by the fire and most importantly he got love! Rest in peace Elvis! ❤

I will never understand how people can treat animals with such cruelty. How can they see this poor dog slowly become what we see now from the innocent and playful puppy it once was. The few heroes like Takis are the only thing that gives me any faith in humanity. Thank you for everything you do.
People like Takis and his dedicated team give me hope in a world where such cruelty does exist. We must always do what we can to find the goodness wherever it is and the purity and loyalty of animals give me that as does the loving care that Takis Shelter does day in and day out.

I think the worst part is that it is not necessarily cruelty. It is just plain indifference. Cruelty is an active act and it often means that there is something wrong with the person. Indifference is just a total lack of caring and no thought, no empathy or compassion. Just nothing. That is even sadder for both the animal and the person .💕🐾💔😭

Awe since I’ve been following Takis shelter there has been many many Dogs that Takis has rescued, many have been adopted and some that are not adoptable and some Dogs that I will never forget and Elvis is one off them that I will remember possible for the rest of my life. You could see Elvis did his very best to live life as best as he could with what little time he had and with his disability. He never stop exploring and he took in everything. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw Takis with him, he was an absolute superstar and i thank Takis for giving him that chance off happiness even though it was just a short time but at least he died knowing he was loved 🥰
Thank you for helping Elvis giving him freedom even in short times at least he experienced to live free who ever the owner of that dog has bad character no conscience at all they don’t deserve to have a pet 💪

Our 14 year old boy (Golden Retriever named Romeo) died a few weeks ago. He lived such a beautiful life on an acre of land with lots of cuddles and treats. I can't imagine how any dog could be treated like this for soo many years. It absolutely breaks my heart. Thank you for giving him a few precious months filled with love, companions and compassion. 😢
