    • @@TheTruxFortuita Then you should brush up on your reading comprehension. I ere on the side of defensive driving -- not offensive driving. You're basically saying "if you see someone about to T-bone you because they're running a red don't avoid it, let them plow into you because you are in the right". Who does _that_ help...? The person who was _in the right_ but now has no car, is missing work, and is injured? Okay, what about this one. Someone's decided to merge into your lane without looking to see if anyone was there and you're getting cut off so instead of hitting the breaks to avoid a collision you decide to speed-up or stay where you are -- now you get sideswiped hard enough you veer and hit the jersey barrier. The asshole in this situation takes off because of course they do, but you have a dashcam and their tag number! Huzzah! Oh, wait, they don't have insurance and you didn't spring for full-coverage because you're just surviving; now you're stuck footing the bill and your insurance rates now go up. So what if you have to skip a bill or two, take public transit 40 miles to work because hey, at least you showed that asshole you won't be bullied. Please do give me a logical example since I think "assholes should be catered to" and not "avoid an accident at all cost if you're able to, for your sake". Or were you just deciding to be reactionary since your blood pressure and stress was already raised from watching a car-crash compilation and decided to intentionally -or subconsciously- misconstrue what my point was?

Coulda just as easily been an "oh shit you're ACTUALLY gunna just force yourself over right now and I was too stupid to avoid it early" panic maneuver ton try and go around the side of the other car. If an action can just as easily be explained by stupidity rather than malice, it's far more likely to be caused by stupidity.@@Aldedandra

  • Native Akron Ohio girl here. That highway is notorious for accidents, and it's worse since it's under construction currently. People really need to pay attention and drive like a sane person. I always ask the question "Where do you have to be at _____o'clock that you have to drive like a jackass?" Also, tailgaters? I do NOT appreciate you, and I'm NOT into butt stuff, please stay off me.

    • Brilliant idea. People get into a disproportionate number of wrecks at that notorious intersection because they're driving too fast because they're on an insanely wide multi-lane divided stroad so, instead of adding traffic calming measures, you want to create an expressway interchange in the middle of a leafy green neighborhood so they can drive even FASTER! Are you the reincarnation of Robert Moses?

  • Half of these clips could be avoided by acting in order to prevent accidents. It's called defensive driving: it means you have to observe the situation and who you have around, how they behave and foresee some scenarios, like people changing lanes in front of you like in 1. and 6. I personally never got in an accident, and that does not mean "drive slowly", it means "drive without distractions and be aware of your surroundings". Why is it something I see rarely in these videos? Is it so difficult? Like in 17., WHY NOT USE YOUR BRAKES? It's so brainless and that could have been avoided. But no, it's better to risk injuries and life, damages to the car I guess. You have gained nothing by being right, I would rather be safe than demonstrate that I was right in front of insurance companies and police officers.

    • For some reason people seem to be happy to allow an accident they know won't be their fault to happen to teach the other driver a lesson and think they're taking no loss since the other driver's insurance will pay for it (which isn't always how it happens) but what they don't realize is that accident is now on their car's title and their resale value is now significantly reduced.
