  • I always thought “cheers” was something important to folks down under in Australia or New Zealand... at any rate... cheers to you! It is good to have a light and happy heart! A good synonym for cheers...merry. A Bible verse... A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. As for this maple bowl that you have made....it is phenomenally incredible the skill you have! This is the first of your video’s I’ve watched! Hooked! I subscribed not just for the chance to display that beautiful bowl here in my office but also due to the incredible vision, talent, and artwork I see in this video! I also appreciate the good music you had playing softly in the background...added much more “cheers” to the watching! God bless you real well! I’m a missionary in the Philippines. Love to do woodworking as a hobby in my spare time. But my skill set and tools is like grade 2 or 3 compared to your PhD!

  • This is such a fascinating shape! I love how it turned out. Question, what is the reasoning behind sanding, adding lemon oil, sanding again, and then using the sanding sealer? Watching your channel more than anything else has inspired me to reach out to a friend with a lathe and get back to a hobby I used to love. Once all the orders for isolation we are going to work together on relearning old skills and then expanding on them. So Cheers! And thank you.

    • Cheers, Amy! You're in! I didn't show all the sanding, but I had to let the piece sit overnight after I sanded till about 1:30 AM. Because I had to walk away from the piece I wanted to protect it from cracking. I also think using lemon oil brings out the color more in the wood.
