Thanks Rohan i was eye balling malaga suspension for a lift so this was a convenient video. Keep the vids coming mate.
Looks great, you can see a massive difference in the gap between the tyre and guard.
I just spotted the notification and stopped work to check another one of your videos out , looks great ive definately talked myself out of air bags to assist the sag at the rear when i hitch the van up .The lift will do both with ease i reckon .Well done
Legend! They heavier springs will definitely help and the shocks will control it so much better!
I’ve got sag when I hook up my camper. Would beefed up springs & shocks make the ride harsh when not towing?
Wicked. My daughter is impressed that you have two jobs 😎👍 Postie and You Tuber 😎💪😁 Have a great Xmas
Cheers mate
Nice one!
Great vid mate. I’ve got a GLS arriving in a couple of months and I’m keen on doing a 2" lift-I’ve searched through the comments so hopefully you haven’t already answered this. What package of Dobinsons did you go for? How much did it cost installed? I’m on the east coast so can’t use those guys unfortunately. Cheers alex
Can you please do an explanation video on the rear spring mod? I fitted my rear springs and the passenger side looks ready to pop out.
Looking at a QF. Do the bigger tires feel harder to turn/push compared to the standard tires? And what does the ride feel like now compared to before? Less jittery and more settled ow what? Cheers
Hi Can you let me know What was welded in the back please. Thanx mate
Hi Rohan, thank you for all the Pajero Sport videos. Quick question, what bumpstop you have inside the rear coil spring? 5:10 I have been hitting the stock bump stop on some rough roads or big speed bumps. Want to mitigate impact. Thank you for such great content. cheers!
Hey dude, Which number of coils you install? How is the suspencion now?
how does mitsi view lift kits in regards to warranty?
hi, may i know what is the part code for the suspension kit that installed? thank you.
Hi Rohan, what happened to the video of the long range fuel tank install? That's my Christmas break project and I was going to watch it again to see how it's done! Suspension is the next project, looks good, I'll definitely go see them.
Never had one of a long range tank sorry mate. I'm still running stock tank
Kia ora dude, thanks for sharing your lift - appreciate the guidance. Quick Q, I see they did some welding (I think it was?) while working on the rear axel. Any idea what the purpose of that was?
Yeah mate, I'm going to cover that in a future ep. Essentially a spring retainer
#1 FILIPINO FAN HERE!! 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 🇵🇭
Thank you :)
Hey man, looks good. hoping to get mine done soon as well, but going for Ironman. was wondering what they welded on to the spring perches? are they to correct the diff angle in relation to the centre carrier? Also any reason you didn't replace the upper control arms? Tyre wear?
Be careful as iron Man are renowned for sagging after a month or so
@@T.A.G thanks for the heads up, shall investigate, sadly we are limited to Ironman, tough dog or Old man emu here in sunny south africa. i would happily run Dobinsons if i could get them here. hear very good things about them
Hi bro. Great vid. 1.Are you gonna drop bigger tires on her? 2. Did you hv to install new control arms for this lift? Or just the shocks? Thx
Hey mate. Already running 32" tire and will eventually go to 33s, standard ucas for now
How much did it cost you?
have you managed to re adjust the front suspension yet. mine has sagged also but am unsure on how much to wind it up a video would be great if you can, also did the rear suspension make your rough, mine is quite rough compared to stock. and a few people said the shocks are upside down. but mine are mounted the same as yours so it must be correct cheers
The rear may have too heavy of a spring in it. I had it checked the other day and the front actually is sitting pretty again. It could be wound up but they want to maintain atleasg 40mm of down travel which I agree with otherwise they become rough and a kangaroo over bumps
Hello Sir. I want to add 2 inches of Dobinson lift kit in front and rear to my Prado 150. Should I get Dobinsons IMS or the regular yellow ones? Do I need to get spacers as Prado leans on sharp turns or roundabouts? What should be the front springs- C59-352? Rear Springs C59-325? Front Shocks IMS59-50700 Rear Shocks IMS59-50705. Sorry for asking a long question.
Unsure what part number you need. But I would go the dobinsons kit for sure. They're springs are aqua coloured. Not yellow :)
I've been told I need to fit new upper control arms to provide clearance on lifted suspension and better alignment. I notice you didn't seem to get this done. Any problems that you've noticed retaining the factory arms?
Most aftermsrket shocks that are a bigger bore will touch the upper control arm. Mine touches a fraction but only on full droop and is minimal do its not an issue. If budget permits UCAs are definitely recommended. Just not cheap ebay ones
Hi, how much mate it cost everything?
What happens with the headlight electronic adjustment? Does the headlights point straight down the road?
automatically adjusts to the correct height
Hi, did it affect your balljoints? Did u do any mod for upper control arm?
No
hi, what sort of dobinson lift kit did you get? Was that the monotube or MRR ?
Monotube yeah, the remote mounted is overkill for these
Hey just wondering how the suspension is going are you still happy and that you still have the original control arms
Yeah mate, still enjoying it :)
Just about to get a Pajero sport. Any tips on suspension upgrades now you’ve had yours for a while? Cheers
rip out the stock stuff and go a decent aftermarket brand, dobinsons are good
Do you think adding upper control arm and panhard is required for 2 inch lift? Does the shop recommend you to do so?
Upper control is always worth it if in the budget. Rear panhard not really needed
@@T.A.G thanks!
Gearbox bash plates etc won't have gotten higher will they as it is only a body lift? I will be interested to hear just how much better the ride is under all conditions as it always comes down to compromises with this stuff. Mine is now pretty average over corrugations, not quite as supple on road but off road and loaded it is way better.
Mine has improved over the whole field. Also bash plates sre atleast 2" higher. Camera doesn't really show it. The line of the side step to hub shows it well
@@T.A.G My bad had another think about it and the chassis is lifted so only the diffs don't lift. My bad, apologies.
Hey mate, from a ride quality perspective on road, what’s changed? I’ve got my gsr due end of next month and really wanted to improve the ‘boatiness’ of the drive, was this improved?
1000% better. It's a whole new car. It doesn't rattle and shake and knock your teeth out on the bumps anymore and it doesn't sway around corners no where near as much. It's a much firmer and softer ride haha. I don't know how mitsi came up with a suspension setup that's so boaty as it's soft but then feels every tiny bump? But love the dobinsons, 100% recommend
@@T.A.G thanks mate, I’ll look into it! Appreciate the reply
Hey mate, the rig looks great ! Just a quick question, how tall are you ? I’m 6ft and find it hard to get the right seating position in my Pajero Sport. If my arms aren’t super stretched out my legs are cramped up and vice versa. thanks
Hey mate. 6f2 My seat is almost as low as it'll go and I tilt it back at the base and have the back almost bolt upright due to a bad back
@@T.A.G thanks mate, I’ll have to keep playing with the positioning. Maybe my leg to arm ratio is off 😂😂
@@TheMRmexis4 haha. Always a possibility lol. Yeah it's all personal preference really. Just keep playing hahaha
Hey bro, nice video. I'm from 🇵🇦 Panama, how much did you pay for the dobinson setup, I have a montero sport also. What type of tyres do you have, can you give specs.
Hey mate. Welcome. Mine was roughly 30k AUD about 3 years ago or so. Tyres are a 32" tyre
Hi mate. Do you have the specs for the Dobinsons set up and your wheel and tyre specs?
+15 17" And they're 32" wildpeaks
Hey Mate! Whats the brand of your Bullbar? Thanks
Piak
does the front suspension make noise at 20 kmh on speed bumps?
No
hey mate, what size wheels and tyres are you running? and whats the offset?
Hey mate. Check out my rig rundown video on my channel, it came out shortly before this episode :)
Hi mate , been loving all your videos and a subscriber here. Been thinking of doing the same on my 2018 ps exceed. Just a quick question with the 2 inch lift if you have done time to answer , that would be greatly appreciated mate. Does it need new upper control arms with new upper longer ball joints to stop the shock rubbing for the lift to work 💯 good on the PS ? Dose it need New Bump stops? Does it need New longer brake lines in rear front ? Does it need and wheel spacers to stop upper control arm rubbing on the rims or tyres?
upper control arms are advisable but not 100% necassary, bump stops you can cut the originals down half amount or buy superpro mini ones, longer brake lines arent needed as the amount of travel is still the same, the car just rides higher, i dont think you need wheel spacers with UCA, but i cannot confirm 100%
What did they weld to the lower spring seat in the rear?
Same question here.
@@agentthumb spring retainer?
@@xBossxProductions potentially, I know the standard variable spring that offers 35mm lift is actually too short, and they fall out of the seat at full droop. Dobinson made me a new set that were 20mm longer to solve the problem. Kept the same lifted ride height.
But that negated the need for retainers.
what is that they welded at the back springs
I still need to address this. Will do soon :)
@@T.A.G is that to prevent the spring to move out of guide?
How much did the lift kit and installation cost?
Couldn't tell you sorry, it was discounted, unsure on RRP
Will be saving my hard earned pocket money for these for early next year. Think it may be worth a drive to these blokes driving from rocko. Unless you have another reputable business closer S.O.R?
Definitely. Without giving out some trade secrets these guys take some extra steps to make the kit work well!
Knowledge and attention to detail is outstanding
I'm going to go into that in a later video
Exactly how many millimeters of lift does Dobinsons coils give to a Pajero Sport? I couldn't decide whether to go with Tough Dog coils or Dobinsons
I'd steer clear of tough dog shocks. They don't make springs as far as I'm aware and use king springs. Dobinsons 100%
Just subbed buddy Rob Nowra NSW
Rohan, just a safety thing. For the headrest to offer optimal protection against whiplash in a rear end collision, the top of your headrest should be level with the top of your head.
Thanks mate
for ride quality alone, what are the best options?
Anything other than stock
