Definitely. My take is the MP maps are basically representations of the skirmishes at each of these locations through the journalist's story, while Hazard Zone's setting is the satellite crash that happens just after the trailer. I hope post-launch maps are set after the crash, to continue the story after this, because DICE has created a really rich and interesting world here, and I definitely want to see more of it.

It's interesting how this battlefield narrative feels like something Tom Clancy would actually write about. I'm very interested to see if hazard zone could contain the closest experience to a single player campaign. Certainly makes me want to go back and play the bf4 campaign again
Don't bother. Dice released a patch that broke many aspect of it. Some parts you can't get through because the game just stops you from progressing. Either from bugs, or from glirching out.

I did exacly that and i didnt have any big glitches that broke the game. Story is not that great but it was fun go return to BF4 after a long time :)

@@thebigsam Blackburn was a staff sergeant in 2014 and Marine staff sergeants can be in their mid to late 20s at the least. 28 years later, Blackburn being in his 50s and still fighting isn't too unreasonable when Irish would be in his late 40s, assuming he was a staff sergeant in the same age range as Blackburn during 2020

@@theawesomesausage Oh yeah the character setup all happened in BF4 but overall, I'm more interested in the story itself. Exodus seems much more complex and is not as straight forward as BF4's campaign. But ya, we can definitely thank BF4 for the characters in the first place.

I don’t really want the events in Doha to be represented in a new short film. Someone said that Doha is where Hazard Zone is gonna take place, and I hope that’s the case.
Could be the same with Alex in MW. We thought he died in a factory explosion but he returns in season 3.

Since we see Pac and Irish in BF2042 Exodus. And Hannah “Presumably” died after she got sent to detonate the C4. What if she actually survived when she went down to destroy Chang’s ship, but there was the boat Recker, Irish and Hannah used to sail over to Chang? And she might have sailed away and trying to get to a safe distance from the explosion of that Warship? Just my theory by the way.
Maybe we could see Hannah return to help found the Pan-Asian Coalition later on, setting up 2142.
in a cutscene at the end of BF4 it says hannah is MIA, it should of been an obvious KIA if she had died in the c4 explosion so i feel like that is a pretty big sign she could return at somepoint
@@BleedingUranium I doubt that would happen because she would most likely die from old age if we do see her come back it might be as a NO PAT like Irish or in a new faction but who knows 🤷♂️

The most interesting thing is that this short film gives hints of what will be the "lore" of Hazard Zone. We'll see at Gamescom in the next weeks.
My theory is that exodus is setting up the game mode of hazard zone. Operators of 4 are tasked to recover satellites and extract with them in a tarkov style gamemode, with the realism and tactical style seen in the likes in Squad , Modern warfare 2019, arma, etc,.
i had a good laugh when you mentioned MW2019 in the same sentance as Arma and Squad when talking about realism, MW2019 is not at all realistic, campaign maybe at least one or two missions but the rest is really not
@@theaces3697 I didn't clarify lol, their gunplay is highly realistic in this game. Not so much the gameplay obviously. The gunplay in mw2019 (the animations, the firing sounds, the reloading, reloading ads etc) is top of the market. Even BF2042 copied their reloading style and ads reload; go watch the leaked gameplay. And that isn't a bad thing I am glad other devs are beginning to care about gunplay-realism and the little details
@@mduggy1396 Also gunplay =/= Animations, sounds, reloading. Gunplay is all about recoil and smoothness of the bullets going where you want it to go, and it looks like its gonna be like BF4/BF5. Gameplay should be the main focus rather then ''muh muh realism'' things we all won't care or ignore in game. ''BF2042 copied their reloading style'' MW didn't invent reloading bud.
@@SHAHDIFMDKF did you not see the “reloading style?” Key word STYLE. Modern warfare 2019 was one of the first if not THE FIRST FPS game to have those kinds of two mag tactical reloads, and the reloading while aiming. Those are new inventions (some older games had the two mag reloading I know). That’s what I mean by reloading style.

I really hope we get to see Recker again in a video like this but when we see him it plays the battlefield 4 theme song like the lead up before we see him and when the beat drops we see him Sounds pretty silly but would be so fricken cool just an opinion

Sadly only a very small amount of players play these campaigns. It's not worth the time and money for them to make if people don't play it.

Small correction to offer. The ship in the featurette is a Freedom Class LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) not an Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer. The LCS is a considerably smaller ship. Much lighter armed, and armored, but does work better as a No-Pat mother ship or PMC vessel considering it's large internal spaces for it's multi-purpose equipment
The lore states it's a Arleigh Burke class destroyer, just stating the info I have.

Haven’t finished battlefield 4 since it came out and just finished for the second time tonight. Man that end scene wasn’t that sad before. But now that Michael K Williams is dead it’s tearjerking. Such a great actor and and he left us with his amazing work. I wish they made a single player centered around Irish for 2042.
I would love if this game had a campaign with a mgs5 freedom and base basicly the exodus would be your hub area where you could do anything test Guns talk to other nopats train etc you would upgrade the exodus maybe even ad more diffrent ships creating a small Fleet you would choose missions Gear and what specialist to use maybe like a four Player multiplayer campaign or solo option with ability to call vehicles if you want being able to aproach a mission however you like stealth or assult that would be amazing although at this Point its nothing more then a dream

MFS-04 "Exodus" is not an Arleigh-Burke Class Destroyer as far as I have ever seen one; especially stationed on a couple. I'd say the Exodus resembles more of the Freedom-class LCS's, with the exception of the bridge design and weaponry.

@@Flakfire Good lord, that's just weird. Normally an Arleigh Burke wouldn't be armed with the weaponry depicted; let alone one lower than a 5-inch caliber main gun. At that point, it'd be considered a frigate or LCS.

There's a second eastern egg in the form of a satellite name along with Pickle Rick: the one surveiling Brazil is called CAIPIRINHA_112. "Caipirinha" is the name of a Brazilian drink that combines sugar cane brandy, lemon, ice, and crystal sugar - almost an cultural signature within Brazil

I honestly like the idea of online only game play explained with Video content more than another normal FPS single player
I think it may also have something to do with the secret weapon in the BFBC2 story. Which gives a reason for those maps being in the game. Just a thought though.

I dont think that the t-rex toy is just an easter egg. It may become the first hint to a crossover of worlds of BF3 and BF4. Hope we will see Blackburn as well. If he becomes one of the specialists in later battlepasses that be sick.

They have an amazing setup for what i belive could've been an amazing campaign to connect the players with the world, sadly we aren't getting a campagin this time around

That's just more budget taking away from the gameplay working and this game actually succeeding. Employing some Hollywood overpaid nobody wont help the game and neither will a short film so hopefully they start allocating resources correctly and make a game that works which looks like another year away from the footage of the leaked content all over the place. Its become a poor mans call of duty and is hoping a badly directed short drama will interest players. Definitely another terrible evolution for a dying franchise.

All of this narrative heavily suggests that there will eventually be a 2142 remake, or at the very least gives us more context for the game. Hoping its the former, but either way, glad that they've picked up the ball again on actual storytelling

I love how everything is leading towards a 2142 remake. The global catastrophe and the dlc from BF4 (which 2042 is now canon sequel) all point it.
I feel that one of that maps will be in Australia only beacuse there seems to be no real knowledge about Australias condition so I reckon it'll be like a nopad strong hold of oz or even as a cerved ball reaker could be there with " loyal" people of both sides who don't want a war and that they'll help Irish in him darkest time of need just a hunch tho

BF 1942, 1943, Vietnam, 2 and 2142 are also related you know, they might not have campaigns, but the maps and battles are part of the main BF timeline.

There is one actor who is missing from the story: China. Perhaps they choosed to ignore it in order to sell the game there too but is a sad decision in my opinion.
Did bf4 ever sell badly? People in China play it too. The myth that it was banned in China just isn't true, the Chinese government simply did not care and didn't acknowledge the game in any way. I doubt it would be any different now.

I think that the only reason for that is that the publisher want to keep this important market by not being banned.
My question is... where is Blackburn, Recker and bf3's tank driver's son? The son of the tank driver should old enough to join the no pats now right? Like in his father's footsteps. Hawkins (the pilot chick) was KIA so no and Dima was KIA (and I believe he was dying of cancer) . I know Dima wasn't a fav character to everyone but, i miss him lol. Race to get info from a downed satellite has Bad Company 2 campaign vibes all over it. I think what has caused all the storms and destruction is the scalar weapon from Bad Co. 2. Maybe the US developed it more and something bad happened and they don’t want Russia to possess the tech. Maybe they could access different alternate realities (Rick & Morty) or maybe time travel anomalies (The Portal could be a portal to all time of Battlefields and the reason why there are megalodons and dinosaurs in battlefields.) The scalar weapon from WW2 could be a nexus point and the thing that unites all battlefield stories together and Second Russo-American war happened from Bad Co. when something was changed in time or an alternate reality? (Battlefield’s multiverse.) There is a Bad Co. 2 easter egg regarding the scalar weapon on Solomon Islands in BFV. Maybe I’ll get my wish and the next Battlefield in 2023 in be Bad Company 3? Maybe the added 4 specialists from the BF2042 seasons will be Bad Co. because of the multiverse? Maybe BFV was so different because of the changes in time or a alternate reality from the scalar weapon and the reason we had a woman in war fighting with a prosthetic arm and the Seamus looking guy had a katana on his back and no D-Day invasion? BF has one timeline tho, no? Only BC is not officially a part of it, but you can easily put it there. It's BF1>BFV>BFHL>BF3>BF4>(you can easily put BC games here)>BF2042>BF2142 The 1942 and BF2, I believe, are separate and happen in universe similar to ours. But I think some people managed to tie them to the main timeline too The only BF thar are very much not canon are BF Heroes, BFP4F and BF Online

Another theory regarding the t-rex toy. What if Corporal Miller’s son becomes one of the main protagonists ready to save the world in his fathers legacy. Miller was bad ass in BF3 making his last stand defending his brothers who were being evacuated.

One main reason I find campaigns so dull is because how often they stick to the "protagonist is silent" rule making it hard to connect with him and every interaction and attempts of binding with him and other characters awkward. Like in the torture scene in Battlefield 4 campain I didn't care the slightest about "us" being tortured. It's a completely different story though when the player gets development, talks and shares his opinions even during gameplay and communicates with the other characters, turning him into an actual important character rather than a puppet for the player to embody. That's perhaps why I liked Battlefield 1 war stories so much. And if Battlefield 2042 had a campaign with Irish as the non-silent protagonist this would've had a lot of potential for a mind-blowing experience.

I'd love to see more of what happens after the us retreat from Siberia in bf4 final stand before 2040-42. What happens in that 20 years and how did everything go south so badly? And now there's a proxy war between USA and Russia using the other people and countries of the world. What a story
the exodus movie looks good graphically and it's nice to see actual effort being put into the lore behind 2042 but thats about all i can say for it. the story was genuinely difficult to follow and made little sense (to the point where i learned more from this video than i did from actually watching exodus myself), and the bf4 characters didnt really do it for me, i never felt any sort of emotion or attachment towards them bc bf4s story and character cast was utterly forgettable the best battlefield campaigns by far (as far as storytelling goes) are BF1's war stories, and maybe the original bad company's campaign

So i highly doubt wrecker, It COULD be hannah or agent kovic coming back from the “dead” Both of them have reasons to defect and fight the two/three nations and both had access to the juicier info that could have lead to their defection. HOWEVER, the way OZ speaks reminds me of SGT. Dunn and his “For the wolf to survive” quote in Baku in battlefield 4…..
