  • I was a fat kid in the 60's, which was bad enough as it made me a bully-magnet. What made it worse is that my clothes came from a separate department called "CHUBBIES". Really. In big fat letters over my head, as I was supposed to choose between truly horrible styles that look good on no one, as store clerks made rude remarks. I was shamed into a lifetime of anorexia and bulimia so I wouldn't be a "chonk". Fat boys got a much nicer label for their clothes, they're "husky". Makes it sound manly.

    • My lord..... 😮 condolences

      @veghead05@veghead054 жыл бұрын
    • uh you are ridiculous if you think "husky" boys feel any different about that title. the only difference is boys made it socially acceptable to be "proud of being ugly". Husky men dont magically think of themselves as "not fat". Its just when a husky man says to his buddy: "because im a Fat Fuck" his buddy LAUGHS, and he thinks "good im friends with this guy, thats why he laughs." its better to be fat shamed, because then you are socially allowed to have an HONEST opinion of yourself, and you might actually seek to get healthy for positive reasons with positive reinforcement. Hiding behind social acceptability just ends up making people more repressed, and subsequently DEpressed. Without actual legitimate encouragement from people who called themselves my friends (fat shaming), i would still be "husky" and still be MISERABLE.
