We took both the new 2020 GR Toyota Supra and the iconic Mk4 Supra from the 90s on the track to see how they stack up. I gotta reckon that the old one would definitely smoke the new one just because you can see its not stock at all, q fair comparasion would be both stock and the result of it would be the one we had here. We cant compare stock to tuned because this new engine tuned would probably smash the old one, not only because of the overall car dynamics but also because of all the technological improvement made around it!

Remind me in 20 years once the MK5 has been in countless films and earned a reputation, people will be saying the same thing. For whatever reason everyone has rose tinted nostalgia goggles on, if you compare the MK4 and MK5 in completely stock form the MK5 is a significantly better car to live with. As soon as you start tuning and fucking with it all of the comparisons you can make go out the window. The MK5 is 1 year old, give it 20 years and then you can judge how well its lived up to the MK4s legacy.

Señor Cactus she didn’t give it her best, she shifted into third way too early, everyone knows keep it in second until 60 - 80mph, then shift third, makes the engine work way harder, getting the turbo to kick in quicker. Also depends on the clutch, nobody double clutches in a race, too much time unless going downhill. The only reason you’d double clutch is to reduce wear in clutch and make it last longer.

I’m old and officially on strike: All of my earlier sports cars were lightweight, manual shift, with no piped-in engine sound, and no non-defeatable traction control (most new cars still have some form of it even when turned “off”). The new dual clutch transmissions certainly shift faster than you can work a manual box, and are much smarter than old torque converter automatics, but they simply are not as fun or involving. I sold my last 911, and my new mantra is that if you want a fun, fast car, get a motorcycle! And, even there, hurry before legislation kills those as well! I love your videos, but the older cars are often better than the new or futuristic ones.

Manufacturers are scrambling to make engines lighter and more efficient in an effort to keep performance more or less level, but that will become increasingly more difficult, for example as the Euro steps progress. There is also the political pressure to clamp down on all emissions from vehicles entering metro areas, with either bans or tariffs in effect or on their way. So, just as with high performance cars, enjoy them while you can.
@@bsmukler I dont think falling sales "worldwide" is a thing at all... the perspective you might be seeing through might be for big countries where the roads are car oriented but even large countries like india have been catering motorcycles and the demand and sales have been meeting the expectations and in SEA countries the motorcycles have been growing but their socio economic status presents mopeds as alternative coz not all can afford costly motorcycles but that doesnt mean motorcycles are dying over there... similar is the case in smaller counties in EU and it all comes to how the roads in a country cater to vehicles large landmasses means large roads and they directly promote to cars being used more than motorbikes and it ultimately it boils down to public preference... id not be travelling hundreds of miles in my superduke to travel from one state to another would i? id be using a car or a plane that doesnt mean im not gonna buy motorcycles anymore... the thing with emission control might be the only case that may slow down production and might make motorcycles more exclusive but other than that i dont see much of a problem... and im all for an electric bikes coming into the market to replace the ones running with petrol... considering they are still at development stages and many prototypes and even functioning models that rival many superbikes it seems very promising future to me although im gonna miss the exhaust notes for sure... except the impending fate of electrics replacing motor powered bikes nothing currently is gonna change the motorbike market
