Spoiled rotten Raccoon "Teeko" loves to have his back scratched an cuddle. I think my wife loves him more then me but I’m not mad I just wanna be on there good side! Lol

Teeko is free range with no cage. He took over one of our closets and sleeps at the top. every morning he hops in the bed to snuggle next to us and wake us up and every day when I get home from work he comes down to greet me and say hello to play. He’s definitely a character and a joy to have and very loved

So true. I stumbled across a hissing rattlesnake in my backyard. I marched right to him and gave him a big hug. From that day forward whenever I go outside, he follows me around with a wagging tail and silly smile.

My friend’s dad had one, he was hilarious. He went in and out as he pleased-by opening doorknobs himself 😂. He’d let himself in and then back out. They are so smart and crafty, it’s shocking. And he certainly knew how to get into the food-they are relentless snackers 😂.

Lucky because the average lifespan is only 2-3 years but With a proper care habitat can live 20+ years

I didn't know, either, until I experienced it. We've rescued about seven or eight and seen amazing affection, personality, and intelligence. We now have a seven-year-old feisty, yet, affectionate female. She sleeps cuddled up with about seven or eight cats. She whimpers with delight when I pet her. She takes my hand entirely in her mouth . She licks me and grooms the cats. We had a male before this one that would sleep in the bed snuggled up to us with his head on the pillow. They are wonderful creatures.

Ive been feeding this one raccoon that lives in the woods behind the house 6 years. He broke left front arm at very young age but made it. Almost solid black coat.

Raccoons and skunks are my favorite non-traditional pets/cat alternatives. I used to feed this momma skunk and babies back on Ft Campbell, at night, when I stepped out for a smoke.

Dang, my precious (but feisty & spoiled) girl will only be 7 this spring. Is yours still doing well physically? Still healthy? Is she spayed?
@@billsmith7673 no she is not spayed. She has had no health problems until she came into heat last year. Had a real bad go at it and was sick for about three weeks and quit eating for two weeks. Nearly lost her but we forced fluids and electrolytes on her and she finally snapped out of it. Ironically this morning, it’s that time of year again and she didn’t get up for breakfast and she was sick to her tummy. Poor girl is cramping up again. I do recommend getting them neutered and spayed to prevent this if you can find a vet that will do it. Early on we thought we would breed her with one of our docile males but never did. You almost have to keep them sedated while their stitches heal to keep them from digging at the incision as you can’t keep a cone on them due to the shape of their head and neck. We had one open hers up and pull out her own intestines OUCH. Miraculously she survived the subsequent surgery and is now 12. Boys are easier and heal quicker. I’ve got 40+ years of experience with them if you have any further questions just ask.

As a teenager I worked in a pet shop and we had a pair of raccoons one time for sale. One morning we came in and they'd worked out how to open their cage ... then they'd gone around letting all the other animals out... it was insane.

Had a wild one that use to come to my old apartment for a couple years couple times a week. He liked being petted would come in and get snacks from his bowl in my kitchen never hurt anybody
I had one in my attic did alot of damage when it left n left some fleas too
Frank M: I had a wild one come to my doorstep every night...and *knock* on the door, for a _marshmallow_ ...he'd literally KNOCK on the door. And, of course, without fail...I'm the dummy who opened it!! 😅 Kidding; I love(d) him so much. We had _many_ raccoons in the area; but none of the others would approach so closely; he'd literally TAKE the marshmallow out of my hand and eat it right there. I knew _him_ above all the others, because half his tail was missing. He came for about 6 months...like that. Every night. Without fail!!! Around the same time of night, every night, with his little knock on the door. I named him "Rascal." I didn't try to "tame" him or anything; I was just the provider of his "sugar rush" I guess! But he finally stopped coming...it is still sad, to me, to this day; because I don't know why. I hope he was just fine...and got "married" or something, settled down, had a family... but I really don't know. He lives on in my heart. Fur-ever... 😿🦝💞
