Making Lift Table for drill

2020 ж. 23 Нау.

In a table drilling machine, I was often annoyed by the worktop, which limited the drilling of larger parts and the continuous height adjustment. In order to eliminate this problem, I bulit a table with an electrically adjustable worktop and bulit a cooling system during drilling.

  • I've combed the web for three years to find a salutation to the drill press table problem. Up down, up down, tighten, loosen. You hit a home run man!!!

  • Absolute pure awesomeness. I want one of those. (A note on the power supply though: those things in an enclosed case like that need a heat sink or they'll overheat. I've had several of them die in similar circumstances. Replacing the plastic case with a metal one has done the job for me.)

    • Looks like less than 5% of the votes are down votes. I'm not seeing a lot of negative comments here, either. If there is something you don't like about the build, a simple declarative statement would be helpful. All caps and weird punctuation do not. I only found two of your posts. Neither told me what you were unhappy about. Bill

  • Great build! Just a couple of suggestions: 1.- Connect the table to ground. This is an essential safety feature that is missing from your table. 2.- Open some air vents on the plastic box that houses your power supply, preferably matching the location of the fan, and at other points to let air flow. This will increase its lifetime.

  • Man that thing is amazing you did a very good job ! my only comment or critique would be, be careful for the power supply being in that closed box because the fan on it won't be able to get any air and it may overheat and also maybe put some limit switches on the Up down action with the relay to kill power if it reaches full up or down before you can turn off switch but again great job

  • Shaking my head wondering to myself "Why" ? Why do you need a table of this sort that goes up and down ? The drill press usually goes up and down there by deleting the need for a table to do it. Still, nice work sir. And I can see where you may have a tall piece or product that needs a lot of depth under the bit. Again, nice job man.

  • I love your videos man i watch all of them keep of the good work :)! About table i like it but that little move when u press with the drill bit on the workpiece is bad and anoying and will be a problem with really accurate drilling and when u drill large diameter hole with bimetal crown or some.. if you can reduce that table moving will be a perfect piece of creation.

    @jameswieler3295@jameswieler32954 жыл бұрын
    • It is difficult to say unequivocally, when it comes to cutting quality, this is a band saw, and when it comes to speed, but also good cutting quality, it is a cold cut saw. If you care about the exact cutting to the required size, you do not want to apply a protractor after each cut and check the compliance of dimensions, select a band saw, but you must remember that cuts with such a saw last a long time.

  • @Work Shop from Scratch, that was a Great Build Man! Hope you don't mind, but I am going to copy it, as well as your Electromagnetic Vise Build. You have great Engineering/Fabricating Skills. Would like to have you come hang out in my Shop for a while.

    • Of course you can copy it, I record viewers for you and I always try to make films so that they are accurate enough to create something like this :)
