Making Cross Table

I plan to build a milling machine before I have all the parts to build, I decided to build a cross table. I built a table with bearings and linear shafts so the whole thing works very lightly. Such a table does not have to be used only for a milling machine, but can also use a table drill, making drilling several holes much easier and more precise.

  • It's a treat to watch an experienced guy welding and manufacturing useful things. I live in VietNam where we have many self-taught craftsmen who are equally fascinating to watch performing magic with raw stock materials. When I want something from KZhead made, I take a sketch with dimensions then show them the video and they are away.

Maybe instead of burying the end mill if you nibbled with the spindle. You know 0.005" or 0.010" increments of linear motion then run the spindle down.
