As a Brazilian, I will try to help people understand better what Alex said. Actually, Alex said that when Khamzat called him to fight, it was a few days after Adesanya's fight, so what was Khamzat thinking? He thought Alex, who was still hurt and not on the weight would fight him immediately? So, Alex challenged him to fight at Light Heavyweight because he couldn't cut weight right after a fight at Middleweight. That's why he said that he would not talk about Chimaev anymore because he thinks that Khamzat is not a serious fighter, considering that he was challenging for a fight someone who had fought a few days before (at that time).

I wonder if Khamzat could take Alex down as easily as he's taken others down. His size and strength makes it seem unlikely but Izzy took him down although that was more like an unexpected thing...so I'm not sure. Khamzat usually strikes a bit before he goes for a takedown though and one shot he's out cold from Alex.
Alex stuffed all three TD attempts from Izzy, took Izzy down himself and only ended on bottom in the third round because he tried a trip takedown and Izzy reversed it in midair. Pereira can avoid being taken down by Chimaev. Although, if he is taken down, he's in a world of trouble, and Chimaev is iron-chinned, although I don't know if there is a chin below heavyweight that can take a punch from him

Most fighters like him that are conditioned only in stand-up for a long period of time will struggle to adapt in a different area of fighting, even after years of training.
