    • The crowd in tennis courts is made up mostly of rich people, and Federer is the rich's emblem. That's why those ovations. Djokovic comes from a poor country, and his fans, mostly poor or middle-class, cannot afford the luxury of a GS accomodations and ticketing. Otherwise, the ovations would be shared by both of them.

    • Djokovic is certainly one of the greatest player of all time in tennis! I love him from the bottom of my heart, his play, his on court antics, his sportsmanship, his humor, pretty much everything. But I come from an era (91 born) who grew up watching Federer reinvent tennis, his grace, his style, his dominance something no other player can ever match. So I would support Djokovic any day whatsoever, unless he has a clash with Federer! I am sorry, it’s just how it is for me. But again, Djokovic is undoubtedly the best, probably a shade better than Federer at this point. Still viva Federer

    • @@smruthysebastian6303 yes thank you!! He keeps his belongings neat, doesn't intentionally make things difficult for ballkids and line umpire's( yeah he hit one of them in the throat but that was by mistake) he always shows respect to his opponents especially when they play extraordinary points which is something I've rarely seen Federer do, he usually has a frustrated face and still no one makes a comment on it. I will say that I do admire Nadal for this too.Djokovic takes his time to interact and get to know his opponents and tries to make his rivals his friends. With the exception of Nadal, I've never seen Federer do anything like it.

  • The worst thing is that the media is showing only the bad picture of Novak. I understand that is not in their interest that the GOAT of tennis is/will be from a small country called Serbia. So they enhance every bad thing he does like no other player has feelings and tough moments on court and outside the court and make him a bad guy out of the three. And new incoming tennis fans and those who aren't decided yet who is their favorite from the big 3 are deciding and forming their opinions based on the what the media is showing and generally the tennis internet society. All the players know that Novak is a nice guy, humble in wining and also respectful in defeat. We all know who he is, but the campaign against him will never stop. Even though he holds most of the important records im tennis the media will ask for the most slams, when he eventually does that they will made up something else that disputes him and his legacy. I am so proud of him for fighting adversity all his career and still be able to achieve what he achieved so far. If he wins today he will certainly bring joy to many of his fans especially us, his fans from Serbia who know just how difficult it is to grow up here and fight trough life in order to achieve something big! Love you Nole and God bless you all!

Serbia in general has been treated unfairly from Western media since the war in former Yugoslavia and some people in media and in Wimbledon or AO crowds just carry on with this unfair bs. • Here is an idea: Novak started to behave more normally, without victorious rages, etc. after he and camp realized he wasn't as liked as they would have liked to be. So then he started to say nice things about his rivals after matches, and his father remarked "how polite Novak is, etc" and clearly this was in indication that "now" he was to be liked and loved. This is after some of his more unpleasant behaviors and attitudes. But those didn't disappear into the ether but formed a part of the impression that people had of him. But for quite some time he's actively sought to present himself as a warm and respectful person, and his camp unfailinglly trots out the admiration producing public relations news.

It's just that he is not from a popular, familiar mainstream country...that's it . As Kobe rightly said, "Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones". Novak has made Serbia proud and is one of the greatest sportsmen of all time. Nobody can take it away - no media, no belligerent crowds and no petty internet trolls. Nobody has to give him the GOAT title.... he's just going to take it sooner or later just by his sheer will. He said that he had a dream in which he was going to become a No. 1 tennis player in the world and stay that way for many MANY weeks. The audience was clapping cheerfully but actually thinking just "ah, so cute, every child should have a dream, but his dream is adorable but so out of space". Little did we know then... • Djokovich is a tennis god in a lineup of mere mortals. In each example here, Federer and Nadal or Murray would not concede , they just won't. Roddick would create a fuss in order to frustrate other players. It is no wonder that all the young tennis players hail Djokovich as the "de-facto KING of tennis!" The new players Medvedev, Zeverv, Tsitsipas, Del Potro, Tsonga, Beretinni, watch their post-game interviews after playing Djokovich vs anyone else. Djokovich is considered an outsider at the Aussie/US/UK tournaments as these crowds are mostly racists who hate anyone/everyone non-Anglo-Saxon. Djokovich comes to their arena, unfettered by the boo-birds, and embarrassingly beats up on the crowd favorite. Anywhere else in the world, Djokovich is loved and gets his well-deserved respect. Djokovich will leave his names on so many records that it would be a long time before his achievements would be surpassed... probably not in our lifetime. In twenty years from now, looking at the numbers, people will remember Djokovic from this era over Federer and Nadal, simply because he would have top-notch numbers on every stat that matters, and NUMBERS DON'T LIE!!!

  • It's simple, tennis is a sport historically dominated by colonial powers, particulary Western nations. It just doesn't fit the hegemonic and racist ideology that someone from "outside" comes and dominantes "our" sport, breaks records and is different, from let's say the nice guys like Sampras, Edberg, Federer, Nadal etc. Djokovic was supported in all tournaments earlier in his career more than when he started becoming a dominant force and approaching Fed's and nadal's records... in the last couple of years, however, crowds always support Fedal vs Nole, and even noname underdogs vs Nole. They applaud when he is double faulting services or making unforced errors - giving him a feeling of being hated. No other tennis player had to experience such treatment in the last two decades. They just don't like the fact that he will overtake Fedal. They. An't accept the fact that he is physically and mentally stronger than any other tennis player in history. He has seen war, poverty and carries the pride of a whole nation for two decades now. Unlike all the super rich kids on the tour.... in a way Nole is the hero of the third world and the oppressed around the world. Thank you Nole! Finally, he promotes plant based nutrition, saving animals and the planet. If you don't support Nole, you are a hater, a racist or just ignorant.
