I would rather be born good and focus on doing good things than born "bad" and spend all my time trying not to be bad. But if you are born bad, kudos to you for trying not to indulge in bad behaviors. That alone could be your gift to the world.

I wholeheartedly believe these videos are good for people that are psychopaths to be able to understand and align in a way that will make their life in society successful. What confuses me is that I have a deep and intense love for animals, I love my girlfriend, family, and I experience complex emotions like depression and anxiety. I don’t tick 3 of the major traits for a psychopath. I know it’s an online screening but it kind of confused me. Was this just a fluke?

I see predatory behavior in other psychopaths as a sign of weakness.
There is no such thing as a confident, self loving and self respecting 'bully' so it's not really about psychopaths this goes for everyone. Preying on the weak/defenseless is weak shit regardless of personality traits.
Even just logically a team does better. The military teaches loyalty and teamwork and not because it's trying to be moral.

I suspect we are all off the rails in some form or another. Some of us admit it, others pretend to be experts on what is normal.
But most people have empathy and a sense of compassion and concern for the well-being of others.
I studied psychology and we had whole semester theme about what’s normal and how to figure that out. In short and in simple language, normal behavior is individual behavior which is in line with majority of behaviors in society. Normality is changing with society standards. If you see yourself like funny outgoing person for example and no one can tell that about you- somethings wrong with you. But today, you can identify yourself like a clown or an alien, right? And everybody needs to except that without questioning. I guess thats our new normal which I don’t except which means I’m probably not normal 😂

Interesting. I am not a psychopath but I have autism and adhd and I relate to the part of making it a challenge to be ”better”. In my case it’s more about being open and honest with myself though and not pretend to be a better person than I am, but I feel like making it a challenge sort of motivates me, because I do tend to like challenges, as long as I feel like I have a shot at it and the goal is clear. That’s why I do better giving myself challenges rather than accepting other peoples challenges, the challenges I’m given by others are often not concrete or clear enough to understand, or not things I’m naturally able to do.

However, while you're correct about empathy, that's not how it looks from the inside...particularly when we're young or at a low ebb, and with people constantly telling us that we lack empathy because we don't perform the social displays that typically go with empathy in the rest of the population. It's mainly because autistic masking _feels_ a lot like psychopathy, I think, and in that state our brains heavily work against us. Even with a full (and savagely comprehensive) diagnosis, the impostor syndrome is strong enough to make me wonder at times.

I had a psychology professor tell me once that sometimes it’s good to have some pathology to be in successful positions.
I guess he is right. I am sure that if I didn't have empathy I would be much more happy and I would be more able to make the best decisions for myself.

After watching all his videos, I’ve noticed he never gives a specific detailed example about how his condition has affected others. Im sure he would come across much more negativity if he did.
YES. His awareness is NOT focused on his effect on other people. And this fella has had a blessed life. He doesn't have the brain for it, and if he weren't surrounded by saints he'd probably not have an inkling or care about monitoring himself. Even brief encounters can push people off balance... But how can he care? What could compel him to care?
I think that's common in all humans talking about themselves. Absolutely no surprise it's prevalent in psychopats and other narcissist types. Doesn't take away the value of doing better as a human being.

The fact that he has deliberately positioned himself so you can see through the conveniently open door to the cute dog photos in the hallway is a form of manipulation. Very deliberate, and makes him seem harmless.

It may be that we need to go through the right life lessons at the right time to break through the egocentrism of early childhood to socialized adult. The social intelligence aspect of the evolutionary origin of consciousness may favorably select for an ability to manipulate others without compunction.
This "I can own people for 10 minutes or an hour" is something I can spot a miiiiile away. Brother is a sociopath.

@@nichola10901psychopaths tend to be impulsive. They do things what they want to do, or feel to do, without thinking of consequences. The guy on the video, was "suppressing" those impulsive thoughts EVERY DAY just to be a normal regular guy. Because psychopaths think they own people who they have interaction, as what the guy on video says.

I am not psychopath, but I have Asperger's disorder and I can relate to aspects of this. I believe in studying people individually, it's the way I interact with others safely. I form a word list and way of patterning my speech, to interact with people in certain ways they feel comfortable. I also form critiques of myself and others, and try to positively manipulate everyone towards a good place. It teels good for the environment and good for myself, creating a culture of kindness. Narcissistic? Possibly, but at least I try to use it for good. I also dislike people, but like individuals... and people are just composed of individuals I've yet to get to know. I struggle with relationships and startrc forming real trust and empathy in 8ky late 20s, early 30s. Also, most everyone tends to yo enjoy spinning a yarn and having attention. Even if there's a dark aspect to it, having the insight yo black off if trusted others feel it is becoming unhealthy is very healthy and grounded. As an aside, I can really, really, reslly relate to Dexter Morgan. Just minus the whole stalking and killing, I am a pacifist.
Interesting video / best way to no think to much about / of it so far he is telling his experience although mostly in the eyes of someone else ( third person. ) These vids sure are Interesting seen 1 to 7 also of the female purely the way how they explain and think. They don't appear evil / scary or wrong more rather lacking the sympathie which is also explained in these video's.

The way of thinking of most of them is “how a relationship with that person is gonna benefit me in certain ways”. Calculation comes way before feelings or appearance. Psychopaths are extreme egoists.
They want to have the cake and it eat too. They want all the advantages of being married but they will keep acting like they are single. To them, it is a no brainer.
"It's exhausting to be a nice person". True. I can't be a nice person for more than 1 month. After that there's going a mental breakdown, and after mental exhaustion goes physical exhaustion. I tried to communicate with people in the way I want, but they become unfriendly very fast. So from my perspective all I have to do is manipulate. Not the best option, and I'm not the best in it, but there's nothing better. In my childhood I thought that I'd like to be a good guy after some experience, but I just lack it. Like a guy without 1 leg can't walk on both, no matter how much he walks using 1.

What is the best course of action to prevent them from trying to "own", control or influence you?
It's hard to grasp the idea of people, being members of our society, but lacking seemingly indispensable requirement for such membership - the ability not to just understand but to really feel good and bad. We humans survived as collective species for thousands of generations, there probably is the reason why these people wasn't sorted out from the gene pool, maybe small amount of them can benefit us somehow.

@@XOPOIIIO It depends on how close we are but if it was somebody like my sister then I would feel sad, and I wouldn’t move on as quickly as I would usually. But usually it’s just a muted feeling that I exaggerate because others around me are grieving and I don’t want to look out of place. As for children I don’t plan on having any but it would probably be the same attitude you would have towards your sports car or an expensive piece of jewellery; you spend a lot of time and money to get it so you want to keep it safe. Other than that idk what you mean by fear, is it anything in particular, like bullying or fearing how the world would treat them or something else?

But I wonder, do any psychopaths at all has any thoughts about how society should function, how the world could be better etc, are you into politics at all, or it's all purely self-focused view? I'm asking because I have believes and I think they are unrelated to my ability to feel compassion.
@@XOPOIIIO I’m into politics in so far as I was on the debate team and competed nationally so I had to read a lot about that stuff but no it doesn’t really interest me as far as having an actual opinion on most things. I do like to learn stuff though. I don’t have any real normative ideas on society, and I don’t know any other psychopaths that do unless they’re religious. I just do what gives me pleasure and makes me happy in the moment, and what’s beneficial to me and the people that are close to me.

I find it amusing that you listen to a self admitted psychopath who admits he tries to manipulate people, as it is a trait of him being a psychopath and you believe he has epically failed because he comes across as a psychopath. I'm a clinical psycopath. This music annoys me. I can't take this old man serious. But I understood his points. We had to learn to take rational decisions to have a consistent life.

I think he means that he is manipulating them into believing whatever story he is trying to 'sell.' He tries to sell himself as maybe charming, happy go lucky, whatever it is...that he knows is not him. By them buying his lies he owns them in a way because as he says he can 'drive them' wherever he wants them to go.

I am inclined to do this; to get the person or people into “the palm of my hand”, so that they are in some kind of confected thrall of my invention. I have no desire to do these people wrong, and I understand that this is an odious and unproductive trait so I try hard to subvert it into humour, and issues of social equity.... but it’s always there. I learned that manipulating people for one’s own gains is a miserable and unkind thing to do, but I had to learn that, and it took a while. Interesting.
It's a sort energetic ownership. Like the other guys said, manipulating them into believing what he's saying, and to getting them to feel a certain way about him.

There's no way I'm going to work that hard to control my animal instinct. I may not commit many crimes anymore, but there's no way I'm going to change how I interact with people other than for what benefits me.

yeah, psychopaths are human, but theyll probably experience 'cuteness' in a different way. You might be moved by something cute, say an animal, and want to care for it. Whereas the psychopath is going to appreciate it in a more detached way

Logic devoid of compassion and empathy is a useless thing for the human organism. Mammals/humans have to be cooperative, - we raise warm-blooded underdeveloped babies/children for a long period of childhood. It's very damaging if we cannot cooperate, without harming each other... If psychopathy were unchecked, people would be able to eat their own young, either physically or psychologically, and humanity would devolve. We are not meant to be completely alone, we are a cooperative species. He isn't simply logical, he is devoid of some essential traits that make him healthy for humanity. His ability to cooperate is diminished, and his ability to contribute to the survival of the group is diminished. He's essentially like a cell of the body that does not care about the health and survival of the other cells. He is disordered, and his logic is misdirected. He just literally admitted that he has to use willpower and self-determination not to psychologically batter people. This isn't fun for him, and he's had an ideal life, which is why he would even consider restraining himself a potentially beneficial thing. Most psychopaths do not even consider this something they might want to do, even if it destroyed all of humanity. It's hard for them to really care. As long as they get theirs. This is not at all logical. It's short-sighted and bad for the human organism. They may not even care about the harm that comes to themselves as long as they get that dopamine.

He's a scientist who was studying brain scans of the worst serial killers, the study included brain scans of neurotypicals, he put his own brain scan in, but it turned out he was not neurotypical. Turned out his brain scan showed he had the same kind of brain as the worst serial killers.
Sadism is a big trait in psychopathy so someone that doesn’t enjoy hurting people, is probably just a narcissist or pathological liar. Telling stories to get girls doesn’t make you a psychopath and neither does lying to everyone you meet to make yourself sound good, that’s just insecure

Most people just don't get that just because psychopaths have tre anti social traits, they are likely to do it, they don't have remorse for it, doesn't mean they are good at it. There are also strong, good, capable human who are capable of violent and do good things. Those are the cops who are protecting us from these psychopaths.
It's not his fault he's a psychopath, but he seems to be intentionally trying to be a "good" (or at least beneficent) person, which, if true, is to his credit.

The vast majority of psychopaths are not killers.
He actually has the worst brain scan a person can have, his whole prefrontal cortex shows up as blue in an MRI scan. That shows you that even the person with the most psychopathic brain can learn to control themselves

When you watch him, don’t listen to the words. They’re all lies. Look at his body language, listen to his tone of voice. Look at his hands. How could you cope with this man if you were his victim and you had no idea how wicked he really is. Keep away from people like this.

It’s not normalizing it and of course it’s a distorted mindset - he’s acknowledged biologically a sociopath (he says psychopath) by brain structure - how he discovered this is an interesting story - and is making the efforts to regulate what he acknowledges could go very bad if not controlled
I would agree with the general sentiment there, trying to do the right thing frequently requires us to question ourselves, our values, our comfort zones. However, he doesn't mean that being a "nice" person is exhausting - he means that not being a psychopath is exhausting. Not actively ruining other people's lives doesn't make you a nice person.
Good in the means of the standart. He meant he doesn't feel that empathy that will make you sad for someone's funeral. That's considered a bad person in most cases.

I dont see Trump as a smooth talker and charming. JFK and some other charismatic presidents have been profiled as scoring high on psycopathy tests. Psycopaths are very charming smooth talkers. Trump is neither of that...if he was, he'd have a lot fewer haters. Trump is probably a narcissist.

This is starting to sound like nonsense. I think the diagnosis should only be made if it is having a negative effect. A lot of this sounds like normal variation of personality among a population.

no, he is a psychopath, its was proven with brain scans. In fact, thats how he found out he was a psychopath. He's a scientist who was studying brain scans of the worst serial killers, the study included brain scans of neurotypicals, he put his own brain scan in, but it turned out he was not neurotypical. Turned out his brain scan showed he had the same kind of brain as the worst serial killers.

People fall for it so easily because society encourages us to suck up to confident individuals, because psychopaths are idealised in pop culture, and because they abuse the wider desire for acceptance and understanding that people are raised with.
I just listened to a low level narcissist for many minutes. This person reads a lot and took a few test to get the right answer. This is not a psychopath. Just a flake.
Of course he’s a narcissist- which he says. All sociopaths are narcissists (but not all narcissists are sociopaths). It’s odd when people click on a video of a SELF ACKNOWLEDGED sociopath/psychopath and are surprised and/or offended he seems off. The whole point of the vid is how he maintains functioning in a socially acceptable way since it’s an immutable biological issue (and part of this is using his own narcissism to ‘trick himeslf’ to motivate pro-social behaviors )

If you investigate, in the Bible, love isn't a feeling... It's action. The golden rule can help but not always but maybe to show you what you'd like a psychopath to be like toward you???? But it tells you .. love is patient... Etc. Us emoters have to work to not always trust or feelings... Everyone has work to do. Christ will assist. Even if he's just a fairy tale or an alien hologram he's wonderful and helpful. This could all be a matrix. I'd still follow his path. I don't claim to understand this be world but I live a better life following him. Highly recommend. 5 out of 5. 🤗
