This was definitely one of my greatest accomplishments. I spent so much time designing this. I knew I had one shot to make it work. I wasnt going to try again if it didnt fly and fly well. Well it flew amazing! hope you enjoy the video and if you decide to download the file, I hope you enjoy it as much as me. In person it looks and feels even more spectacular. Its visually the most stunning plane i've ever seen fly.

As a fellow EDF pilot and huge YF-23 Fan; You sir are my hero! Awesome build brother. I decided to strap some 3d wings from an EDGE 540 onto a P-38 and felt the same way when it actually flew. I felt like I checked the CG and battery straps a million times before I finally threw it.
This one is totally worth painting......
💯
Bro my level of happiness knows no limits you’ve just made one of my dreams come to fruition. Will definitely be securing one or two of these. Good job brother
Great job mate, that plane looks awesome and looks like it flies great too 👍
Such an exhilarating experience watching along, I can't imagine how exciting that was to see with your own eyes how well it flew! Congrats on the maiden, and of course I would not expect such a beautiful design to crash. This bird was made to fly :))
It even sounded fantastic. What a nice growl it had
Good job man ! Great modeling 👌 and beautiful plane
If it looks right, it'll fly right... And this one LOOKS RIGHT!
Bro, i would pay good money for this as is. But, have you seen the artist rendered finished product that never happened? It's an artists conception of whatthis likely would have looked like if it won over the YF-22. Even the F-22 wet through some obvious changes before it hit the tarmacs in Alaska. The F-23 was going to be cleaned up a bit. Instead of the double zigzag tail area was changed to look just like a "W" check it out, it's a much cleaner and completed looking airframe. The artist is well known and i think writes or at least illustrates for Avaition magazine or something like it. It can be googled and I promise its worth taking a look. This bird you made is gorgeous, thank you for sharing these amazing builds with us.
Very nice job! I remember when people first started to try and make this plane, lots of failures. You really need a bungee for launching, would be a lot less stressful on those first launches. Then once you know it flies hand launch it.
This is awesome like all your designs i really enjoy watching your builds and flights. I think we all still feel our hearts skip a beat when we maiden. Great job. I would like to share a project with you. I think you’d be perfect for this and wouldn’t disappoint. If interested let me know
Proud of you man!
look's SO good!! and fly's great!
Oh, you did a great job!!!!
looks great kyle it really does man
Well now all that remains is to enlarge the plans to accommodate 120mm and 12S turbines and in my opinion you will obtain the title of RC plane of the year. Personally, I have followed you since your beginnings and your progress is impressive. Your work on the aerodynamic profiles is impressive, particularly in terms of stability on such small models which usually have very relative stability (to remain polite....) and which almost all systematically need a gyro which is not the case for your good models except this one but I am really not sure that it is essential to see with more tests. And anyway there is no shame in flying with a gyro (except for empty-headed fundamentalists) so thank you my friend
I do have the larger foam model and it frightened me to even try to fly. I love this it. I have 70mm fans and two 80 amp esc. It has lots of thrust. Your's turned out great and it few like a dream.
Something about his plane scares me haha
Grey Widow
Good stuff Kyle!!!
the sound is very cool !
Awesome build! Congrats! Love that feeling when a hard earned maiden goes well!
Chalk up a win , looks sweet , guess you get a well done . Lol
Awesome job dude. Congrats on the accomplishment. I really know nothing about RC vehicles but they're really a treat to watch.
Let me know what you think about it!
Superb! No doubt she could outperform the real deal 😉 Great work.
I am a Lockheed fanboi, and I love the f22, but the YF23 is a better plane. I think if we had chosen it, we'd still be making it.
Me too. Hope it wasn’t a price/ budget thing. I’ve heard the YF23 canopy gave off a radar signal and the F22 didn’. Not sure if that was the issue
She's so caked up! I'd call her "Cheeks"
Absolutely gorgeous jet cant wait to start printing it
How do you hinge the control surfaces? Im plannong on making my own
I think you should set up a custom Built Fast website. when rc plane addicts find out about your work because your one of the only channels that "builds fast" and make great flyable models you'll be swamped with fans! Great work maybe a 4 edf b-1 lancer???
Thanks!! Maybe I’ll have a site one day! Dude the B1 is badass maybe a possibility. Dual 50mm is probably the heaviest you should go with 3d printed maybe two fans and two dummy holes
⭐✈
Kyle, congratulation on another great build. It's making it real tough on me because I don't have a printer yet. Sill waiting on the Bambu A1 which should be available again next month. By then, you should have another half dozen new choices available. I always thought the YF23 would have been a better choice than the F22 by the AirForce. I was an AirForce pilot in the early 70's. Congratulations again. Chuck
At the time, you think the F-22 was the better choice to pick over this one? Also the F-35 wouldn't have been my choice either, I liked the X-32 better. Also have seen a few models of the X-32 fly really well.
Great work on this one, looks fantastic. You know, I just happen to have a couple Xfly 64's sitting around here. I'm wondering where the escs are located for cooling. Did the battery get hot? The elevator looked a bit twitchy, maybe needs a little more expo. Nice flight bro
Battery and ESCs were pretty cool! Yup the rudder-ons make tons of leverage on the plane wasn’t expecting so much authority. Needs a bit of expo
Awesome S 3 x y Plane GREAT JOB Brother!!!!!
Ever considered trying the A-12 Avenger II? Not sure if you've done it already..
Ive seen one in real life and since then ive wanted one to fly for so long, i bet those v tails really give it good high alpha stablilty ypu should try
What battery would you suggest? Printing now.
Congrats on the maiden!
How do you choose your airfoils?
I design my own from scratch. I don’t use anything like what should go on a jet like this. I use lots of reflex and some strange profiles for the RC jets. Very unconventional
Have u thought of making a ramp to launch all your planes leaving your hands free
Absolutely but I need to keep my designs hand launch able for my customers. Once they need bungees and special equipment they aren’t for everyone
You should name your airfoils and keep the profile in a separate file in case they become valuable for other applications later
I have every airfoil profile in each file of every design. That’s how I refer back to them when I design a new one
INSTANT FUCKIN SUB BRUV!!!!!!! (Sorry for the potty mouth) Dude: Builds YF23 at home, Dude: Flies YF23, rather elegantly Me: How many of my kids do I need to sacrifice to keep you doing this, m8 !?!?!?!? 👍
😂
Next up, F-117! ❤
On my list!
Is it possible to scale the files down after purchase for a 30mm version of this?
Anything’s possible. You’d need to do some modifications to the servo pockets because they won’t fit the 9g servos. Also the servo wire holes will be tight
told you
So are you using this print filament? PolyLight 1.0 - LIGHT GRAY - LW PLA
Yes sir the active foaming
@@hotlapkyle Thanks
Epic, def a really neat experimental airplane. Would have been interesting if the YF 23 would have beat the Raptor for the contract. For me the equivalent would the F4 Phantom. That's always been my favorite plane of all time. If you ever were to design one I'd def have to buy the files.
The F4 Phantom has been my favorite since I was a kid in the 60's. They had plans in a modeling magazine in the 70's for a RC Phantom that used a Dynajet pulse jet engine. Propellers always looked wrong on jet models so I always wanted to build the pulse jet airplane from plans. It has two major flaws. You can't throttle a pulse jet so your always flying at top speed and your landings are always dead stick. It would be the perfect model to convert to ducted fan which really wasn't an option in the 70's.
@@tenlittleindians That’s pretty neat, never even knew pulse jet rc planes were a thing.
@@InvertFPV You could buy those engines for peanuts in the early 70's but nobody I knew ever owned one. My grandfather had heard them at the nationals events and said they were so loud that the entire crowd had their ears covered which made me really want one even more! If you watch a video of the old line control speed airplanes with pulse jets you get an idea why they never got popular in RC models. They are just too fast and loud! Their only redeeming feature over modern model turbojet engines is cost. They made some modern versions of those Dynajet engines for $100 bucks but even those are hard to find these days.
do you have a test file for the 64 mm j10?
Hey, what do you mean? Like a part to see if your printer will print it?
@@hotlapkyle yes
Very fast
All I can say is: " eat your heart out US Airforce"...... The loser won that competition!
Haha trust me. The YF23 won the looks game for sure. Having seen the F22 in 6+ air shows that thing is also amazing. Just kinda wish the black widow won
YF23 is awesome good job ! I understand your excitement I’m the same way .We built a 5 foot jet powered flying Delorean we use a $ 100,000 jet drone to make it fly with 4 gas turbines no joke.See it fly on YT at F u s i o n F l i g h t jet powered flying Delorean. 😊
That video is too short and 11 months old, where's the update on that project? You got comments turned off so we know almost nothing about your projects.
I’ll check it out!!
