iPad mini. Well hopefully Apple comes up with a very affordable mini SE. A mini iPhone as a bog Watch on your wrist would be an adventure and a real breakthrough. Talking about breakthroughs, what about an iPhone that is smaller in width and thus creating a movie like wide screen (?). It will give the user more grip and handling. And more visual cinema like wide screen experience!

iPadOS is the biggest limitation of iPad and we don't want m2 or m3 chip when you can't even use m1 ipad with it's full potential. Maybe bring some cool apps to ipad for folks with pc needs.
Ive been waiting for an Apple Pencil 3 for YEARS 😅 My feature wishlist: Find My capabilities, a built in speaker hole for locating with sound, and a more durable tip.
Not sure how they’ll name it since the USB-C one is the “3” internally. I guess now the 3 will be the 4 internally, and so on.
Hope they release the new beats pill as well! Still rocking with my og beats pill. With the caption being let loose and the blue music note looking Apple design, a focus on audio could be possible.

I wasn’t aware about the event and just received the I pad pro 12.9 today. Not even opened yet. Does apple has any policy of upgrading ?
You can return it within 14 days, but the iPads won’t be available until after the event, which is right at the end of your 14-day return window. Everyone’s been saying “buy it for what it can do now, not what it might do in a future update/what a new model can do”.
I would definitely return and wait if you can, might as well get the most bang for your buck
Mini series 6 already 3 years old... What about a series 7 on the 7th at 7pm?
Remember that we didn’t get a new iPad mini in 2016-2018, so we have had more than 3 years between iPad minis before.
I'm waiting for the new Mini - currently using a 5th Gen. I've seen a video on another creator's channel suggesting that we just go for the 6th Gen, but I think l'll wait and see what the 7th has to offer. After saying that, I did go as far as finding out what trade-in value my 5th Gen currently has. Thanks for the content!
Wouldn’t get your hopes up for any iPad mini to get Stage Manager, at least when not connected to a monitor, as the screen is too small.

The name gives it away: no ProMotion. Unless they just drop that name and simply call it a 120Hz display, I don’t think ProMotion will ever be on anything but, well, Pro.
Brandon, as the iPad Pro moves closer to a laptop in capability, what do you see as the future of both the iPad and MacBooks as they merge in capability? I have always thought of the iPad as being, more or less, just a bigger iPhone with no telephone capability but Apple doesn't seem to be looking at them that way. I still use my iPad Mini as an ebook reader for books, movies, and other things that are just easier on a larger screen, and I feel that having both devices is a good choice for me, given that Apple has yet to introduce a foldable. But the larger iPads and MacBooks seem to be on a collision course that will eventually become one offering - perhaps?
There was that leak about macOS for M2 iPads back in 2022, but that was likely scrapped. Developers often play around with ideas internally but never ship them.
We could also finally get Xcode for iPad, although I have a feeling “Xcode for iPad” was just the 2020-2021 Swift Playgrounds update with the ability to build/submit apps.

I really don’t see the point of making an iPad larger than 12.9 inches as you’d be running into laptop territory and it will be too big to use at e.g. a restaurant table.
@techwithtyler20 13” is already laptop territory. Might not work for you, but it would sure work for me.
My read of the landscape: essentially, the new iPP (particularly with Magic Keyboard) is effectively a laptop replacement, while the iPA is essentially the “traditional” iPad tablet. And even though Apple would never openly disclose it, as doing so would immediately challenge at least the base MacBook and possibly MacBook Air, I would not be surprised if internally the product development teams aren’t thinking essentially the same way.
The MacBook no-Air-no-Pro was dropped from support last year and has been discontinued since 2019.

I think the surprise is the fact that there’s an event in May. Then again, for the Pro, this isn’t your typical spec bump.

Apple Certified repair tech here!🙋🏽♂️ Expect these iPad screens to be VERY expensive to replace if you break it. Currently the cost for the 12.9” 6th gen model is $749, (Apples website) and that’s for the Mini LED display. Apple does not repair these devices as they are designed to be extremely difficult to repair. They will replace the device for close to what you paid for it (assuming you don’t have Apple Care) We fix iPads at the company i work for but it is by far the most difficult and tedious repair that we do for any apple devices.
Don’t worry it’s a big change that’s gonna happen soon they just passed a new bill in the Uk which will force phone companies to put removable batteries back in phones/tablets Apple is fxcked they have until 2027 to get shxt rite

Hi there. Great question. I used both very differently. My MacBook is for work only. It’s big. It’s heavy. Fast and powerful. It stays pretty stationary but love that when I need to take it. I can. My iPad is ALWAYS with me somewhere in my bag. It’s my do everything. Work. Play. Think. Create. Music. My iPhone is primarily communication and short burst of entertainment.
Most people don’t develop their use for iPad for a while after having it. But when it hits, it can become the most important part of the ecosystem.
It's a valid question. I would say that an iPad is the perfect companion device to a Mac book air for example. A laptop is better if you'll be typing a lot or needing the flexibility of an actual full computer. The iPad on the other hand is perfect for writing, drawing, reading, etc. which is why I say it's a perfect companion device to a laptop. The two can work together quite well and you can even use an iPad as a second screen on a mac wired or wirelessly if you want
Me, myself, I use the iPad on the go, mostly because I work on construction and design, so I can have everything on a big screen, and it’s always ready for use

That was specifically regarding the iPhone. No one at Apple ever said a stylus on an iPad is a bad idea. Never say never in the tech world-we got macOS 11 and iOS-style version numbers in 2020 after 20 years on Mac OS X, the weather app came to iPad 2 years after Craig Federighi said it wouldn’t happen anytime soon, and the calculator app is said to finally be coming this year to iPad.
@techwithtyler20 There was no iPad back then, and even after they came out, the Apple Pencil didn't appear until many generations later! The Spen was the OG "stylus" that was being made fun of at the time. The weather app and calculator app situation is what makes me dislike Apple, 2 basic apps, and you need to download them?? It's so irritating! I can't wait to see what they do this year to convince you guys that it's something "new" while the competition has had it many years ago! 🤣🤣

Wouldn’t be surprised if the new Apple Pencil does work on current iPads with Pencil 2 support and vice versa. The main reason we got an Apple Pencil 2 in 2018 was because of the switch to USB-C.
Guess we will have to wait for June. This ain't it.
