MKBHD became immortal and entered the pantheon of the most powerful people in the world when Tim Cook quoted him on stage. The question I have for people bashing him is: should we always talk about the good but not the bad? What if he didn’t say anything about the car, and people ended up in a very bad accident, resulting in fatalities? Would we then say, ‘Oh, MKBHD should have reviewed that car and said something?

    • In particular, I enjoy his enthusiasm for what he does which is quite apart from the power he wields or the money he makes - both of which don’t really factor into his interests in the products he reviews or makes. He even talks about how there’s no magic number he would consider for selling his brand. It’s not about the money - it’s about the work he enjoys. That, in my mind, makes him a premium reviewer.

  • I think the biggest quality of MKBHD is his cool, calmness and spoken clearness. No shouting, no getting fake overexcited, it just feels "quality". Next is actual video (picture) quality. And then is depthness of information with clearness (convey a large amount of information in an easy to grok way. I am a senior software engineer, I dont need easy but easy means more relaxed viewing)

  • Marques is such an outlier because he’s interesting, honest, calm, intelligent, and well rounded; usually a content creator is compromising on one of those things to try to hold their audience (compromising honesty, screaming/ being excessively energetic, dumbing things down, or being obsessive about their content for the sake of generating and maintaining interest), but he’s just incredibly stable and level headed as a person; great interview, great questions

All those mild product would be happy to pay for his advices on how to improve the ergonomy and he wasn't going to review them anyway. He should create a consulting company where the training program is essentially all his KZhead video. Lend the consultant to review the product and only sign off the final report
