the way Alex lost is different to me because he lost because he got over-confident, not because he wasn't finding a way to win, and I'm not saying this to take away credit from Izzy, not at all, but I think it's different than losing by getting outclassed, just like how Izzy losing 3 times still didn't mean he was levels bellow Alex because all 3 fights were competitive, I think stuff like this matters in determining how good a fighter is, Alex's biggest problem is Grappling(unless getting finished like that changes him because of coming back too soon)

He was carving IA up like a turkey. That's what makes the KO so irritating. The grappling is only a problem if he's losing points. If his opponent is using grappling to wind the clock down, rest or to just get off their feet and give their body or head a break, but not able to sub, or even trying, it just becomes a points issue and Alex running out of time to either win by points himself or get a finish. The tall, lean guys can be really hard to grapple... Alex just has to know what someone attempting a sub needs to achieve it and prevent it, and how to get on his feet. He's pretty good at that. But he's always up for dishing out the ground and pound whenever he can, always goes for high output. And grappling without the sub is dangerous. It exhausts them.

@@GooGooGadgetsim, boa sacada. Ele literalmente encurtou muito sobre o Poatan e isso prejudica demais o jogo de qualquer cara que atue na média e longa. i came back here after Sean beat Izzy
Alex is not only a legendary fighter he’s also a businessman. Knowing Strickland and hearing the comment “you can still knock me out but at least half my paycheck won’t be gone this time” it’s pretty obvious that he’s paying Sean to come out and be a sparring partner in Connecticut. It’s brilliant because it’s not only great content for his KZhead channel (seeing him spar a guy he absolutely wrecked) but it also increases his popularity because Strickland is well known as well.
Well, lets just say if alex paid strickland. It was well worth the investment
Alex helped Strickland walk through Izzy lastnight

He’s just taller, Sean is more bulky.
Brutal weight cut.
@@schism6976 Like 15 kg or something. Totally mad. How is that even possible?
That’s why UFC made Alex rematch izzy so fast. They knew he wouldn’t be able to recover from his weight cut. They like izzy being a champ and middle weight and Alex at light heavy weight. Why not make two stars instead of just one?
@@stackpapereveryday5682 Wtf are you talking about? He had 5 months to recover from the first fight. Cut the bs excuses. If he had beaten Izzy you wouldn't be talking about weight cuts. Secondly, if the weight cut is too difficult, that could be indicative of the fact that he's a LHW/HW forcing himself to make MW to fight smaller opponents.

And now he’s a world champion!
Coming back here after Sean won the belt! This paid dividens.
the way Alex lost is different to me because he lost because he got over-confident, not because he wasn't finding a way to win, and I'm not saying this to take away credit from Izzy, not at all, but I think it's different than losing by getting outclassed, just like how Izzy losing 3 times still didn't mean he was levels bellow Alex because all 3 fights were competitive, I think stuff like this matters in determining how good a fighter is, Alex's biggest problem is Grappling(unless getting finished like that changes him because of coming back too soon)
I hope Alex working on his TDD, because Jan will try his best to take him down
ye he lost because he got over confident, he had the fight in has hand with ease
Yeah his bigger problem is definitely not getting caught 3 times with the same punch despite watching the 1st MMA fight over and over again.
Alex is cool and all but Izzy won there first fight imo
Man Alex is such a cool guy. I think everyone who can call him a friend can be very happy. Great person, greater champ 👍
