you and Sean make a good pair. awesome to see you guys getting some practice time in.
podiam adicionar legendas em ingles. so tem essa gerada automaticamente.
abrigado Poatan
Bro are you steel muslim ?
It’s crazy watching this and seeing Sean is the champion and Alex was the only fighter that said he would win
It is crazy yeaa
Robert Whittaker aswell
@@winningsm_iie2447nah rob didn’t think he’d win he just said it in jest. A man named Caio predicted it perfectly tho.
And merab
Caio Borralho predicted it to a tee also.
The fact that Sean can continue to give Alex respect and even go the lengths to train and learn from him really shows what kind of man Sean really is and not the one depicted on social media.
Wassup
He is both. It's not either/or.
@mitch6962 exactly. It's weird how people try to put other people into a box. It seems to me like people are always poking around to point out the humility or the lack there of in others, which isn't a very humble trait. And it's just as cool that Alex goes lengths to learn from Sean, too. It goes both ways.
@@ezradaiquiri11311 nailed it
@@ezradaiquiri11311people have zero clue the layers of humility. Especially the armchair quarterbacks criticizing others online.
The friendship we didn't know we needed 😅
Yes!!!!
Absolutely 💯💯💯!
Poatan can be friend of anyone, dude is really awesome
Right 👍
I love this stuff
Imagine Alex and Strickland roasting Izzy in a press conference. 😂
It happened in Strickland vs Pereira
It was awesome. 😂
Bruh Alex at every press conference, I guarantee, will be like this: 🗿
@@redbaron5308 imagine he learned English from Sean and becomes edgy and slightly racist
@@WRNWRW And what would be good about that?
This is gonna unlock something in Strickland that we haven’t seen . EDIT : the comments have been a lot more respectful today than 2 months ago 🤣🤣🤣 ahahahahahahahaha
Yeah fkn right lmfao, skills are honed overtime they don’t just “unlock” and pop out of a box after a couple of spars
I hope so. I mean we all said the same with till and khamzat too right?
No it's not lmao. Sean is already a top middleweight this isn't a tv show where the character unlocks some hidden potential never seen before 3/4ths into their career.
@@academyofstreetdance1107xactly lmao
@@Andrew-xt8lz so who has he looked bad against besides Alex ? He fought Jared clean , he won his last fight and the fight with Jared could’ve gone his way too . He can beat the rest of the division
Literally watching Strickland level up his striking in real time after one little tip from Pereira. He picked right up on it.
seeing that was just so beautiful, iron sharpens iron.
@@NotoriousChino True.......
Also cool to see Sean reap the rewards of treating Alex so respectfully.
1:28 that's what Sean used to Knockdown Adesanya. Crazy
1:24 For those who don't know. Alex is talking to Sean about sitting on his punches here I believe. Looks like Sean was movable by a strike back. He is saying stand strong. This is the EXACT shot Sean dropped Izzy with in the first... I have chills. New sub Alex is a beast and a great man.
What do you mean sitting on his punches
@@Checkmate777To not stay still after throwing a punch. You can see Alex showing a demonstration of how Sean move vs how he should move after punch
@@Checkmate777I can explain it in the easiest way to understand, as it was taught to me. It isn't actually about sinking your weight low. It's about shifting your weight from one foot to the other as you punch, NOT keeping your weight centered and balanced. For example, when you throw your right cross, you transition your weight over to your left leg. If you rotate in place and keep your weight centered the entire time, a shot to your left side will knock you off balance. Shifting your weight to your left leg will not only GREATLY increase the power, but will make you very sturdy to defend against a shot hitting you on the left side. This is especially important if they throw a right hand at the same time as you, because if they beat you to the punch, your own punch will still go to it's target because you didn't get knocked off balance.
@@Checkmate777 sitting on your punches means to actually place your foot down on the ball or at least in an athletic posture and let your body weight actually come down with you and into the strike from the step your taking . what happens a lot when people are stepping and punching at the same time , sometimes the punch will get there before you can get your foot down ( or sametime but you plant lightly or keep weight on rear foot ) meaning when your foot finally touches the ground or you get your balance right from moving , you will already have a counter strike coming your way so you will end up being too light on your lead foot and your fall off balance from any force coming your way . if your "sitting"into your punches you will have balance and power , but the trade off is your slighly less quick to move back out of space .
@@Checkmate777 Alex said "esta parado"meaning you are standing straight up and demonstrates him tipping over when receiving that hook even though he blocks and punches back. so he says to get lower as you take/block the hook and this also gives you more power with the counter right
“GO GET THIS MAN ALEX” Legendary Press Conference. “NO MAN WHO BEATS OFF TO CARTOONS IS GOING TO BEAT ME!” 🤣🤣🤣
Pika piiii.. 😂😂😂
THE DEFENSE ON THESE SPARRING SESSIONS IS WHAT SEAN DID TONIGHT AGAINST IZZY, HOLY SHIT
Sean even helped Alex in the first fight against Israel, he helped with trash talk, they helped people to give more notoriety to the main event I hope Sean and Alex can shine in their categories and earn a lot of money.
💯 i hope they train together again in the future
You are right, he knew Alex doesn't speak English well so he made the show for him! 😂
"hey Alex, get this man!"
@@themomofmemes467 Thats the point Even Sean fighting Alex he gave notoriety to the next fight that would be the two true rivals
If it wasn't for Strickland at the press conference Pereira might have had to fight one more person before he knocked out Izzy, and there is no way Strickland didn't know that.
Poatan said: "Good last day here with strickland. The guy is sinister, I was surprised by this guy's high level. His ground game, he's a guy who surprised me. Many people say that the guy has a weird game, they even say about me that he has a weird game, but with these training sessions that I did with him, I understand, these are things that work. He told us some things and I will definitely train and put this into practice because it is very efficient. This next fight is going to be a show but I'm betting on stricland because I saw how hard this guy works. He puts himself in situations where... it seems like he's going to stop or give up and he doesn't give up. And even in the standing part there's no space, it's on top all the time and doesn't let you breathe. So he's a complete guy but what surprised me most was his ground game. He never shows it and I got to see it this weekend. I'm confident in his next fight. In the other fight he had, at middle/heavyweight, he accepted the fight at the last minute, but now with all the planning in a category that is right, middleweight, so he has everything to win this one. fight."
Here in the aftermath of the Izzy fight. Thank you for the translation ❤
Thanks for the translation!
Obrigado bro ❤
I’m jus glad this is a thing. Strickland actually seems like a great sparring/training partner.
hes only well behaved in this gym because he knows. otherwise he would be running his mouth
you mean apart from the time he KOed his sparring partner and posted it online?
lol you're joking right?
That’s because Alex can take his head off

To the editor whoever you may be, we love the content BUT we would love it even more with a subtitles added. I know it’s hard work to add a subtitles but for all the English speaking fans of Poatan, it would help us love the videos even more if we were able to understand him and everything that he says. I’m sure that he’s sharing a lot of insight and knowledge when he speaks, well actually I have no idea 😅 but I hope to find out soon if you could please make it possible. Strickland is really starting to grow on me. This dude is chill and humble as fuck.
well when he doesnt have a big microphone yeah
Humble?? Hahahaha...... How it taste Sean 🍆?
Same and now the guy's a champ lol
When he’s doing official panels for the UFC he’s usually at his most loud and brash, but in interviews and more low-key content like this he comes off a lot more chill to be around and his edgy side becomes a lot more toned-down or at least obviously well-intentioned. Seems to me personally like he plays it up for the stage at events at least a bit, he’s always a lot more mature and measured in videos like this
Who's here after Sean destroyed Izzy LMFAO
Came here after Strickland dominated, out pointed and Out boxed Izzy. What a performance
Alex and Sean being buddy’s is so weird because they are so different but I’m totally here for it😂😂💯

I really think this was the reason Strickland was able to pull off the win… seems like even though they’re both great fighters, just having the second opinion and set of eyes in pereira was sooooo valuable for Sean and Alex!
2 very good things to learn from this video. 1 with Alex demonstrating how to gain more power 2:57 and 2 with Sean's breaking point speech 4:22
Sean made a very good point with that breaking point speech, I never knew how much I contribute to that. I workout a lot but I don’t train my mental during my workouts, this will def help

What Alex was showing Sean was boxing 101. Weird that he wasn't implementing that already
@@bailsaz he puts in the work, regardless of the results when he steps into the cage - the guy works hard when the spotlight is off. He is always at the gym and always asking people for some rounds. The two coolest guys in the middleweight division
Thank u Izzy 4 giving us Alex basically. U drew him 2 UFC now we get 2 see this amazing person turn into a star. He DESERVES 2 be here.
The entire purpose of izzy was simply to bring us Alex. That cringe lord did something positive… I’m grateful for that at least
Who’s here after Strickland fucked up izzy
4:22 Inspirational speech by Sean, and now he is champ. He is the real deal
Very humble of Sean to go and train with the guy who beat him...I like
Much respect for Strickland for seeking out high level guys to train with, even those that knocked him out or are in the same division
Both are modern day warriors
Thats a man and a warrior, despite the loss no ego or grudges..
Alex is the reason sean walked through IZZY!
One of but not only
This is why Strickland is gonna be around a while; he knows to take a loss and learn from it in extraordinary fashion. Keep upping your levels, man....
Strickland is humble and has lots of wisdom when it comes to pushing yourself. Big up D'Sean, long live the champ.
i like how despite the ko strickland is just endlessly amused by alex
Sean is super humble, and a great guy, but people underestimate the humility it takes for a guy like Alex to take lessons and training from someone he beat so soundly. He realizes that he doesnt have the perfect formula for MMA yet, and even someone he knocked out can best him in other ways, or teach him lessons. truly an anime/fairly tail friendship
Alex is like a pokemon trainer and Sean is his Pokemon that's about to evolve Much respect champ! Go get that 205lb belt!!!!!
You can tell he really worked on his defense keeping his hands up when the punches come. Thats why he won. Adesanya couldn't find his jab because that guard was on point
It's a huge respect to Glover, he's fucking class
Here after sean beat the shit out of izzy
When Sean is hitting pads with the black dude, you can see him throw the cross that he knocked down Izzy with.
And that my friends is how Izzy lost the title 💀
True😂😂
Sean definitely learned alot from this. He shocked the world

This is wholesome. Stricklands retribution ark. And it was successfull. And new. Poatan is just an awesome guy. So much love for the sport and real competitors.
Seeing how humble Sean is to sharpen his skills and work with the guy who beat him is pretty wholesome and inspiring, in a way he has a martial artist side
The amount of respect fighters give Glover is so heartening to see

im still dissapointed about that ko loss to izzy, i really wanted pereira to be champion in 2 different weight divisions at the sametime 😩
Calm down dude, he's gonna be double champ and KO Izzy again at 205. Matter of time
Y’all think he goes up to HW after being LW champ?
Seans ground game is extremely underrated, wish he would implement it more like he did at the beginning of his career
I think his problem is he doesn't have much wrestling. He can't get guys to the ground to use his ground game.
Truth. If Sean fully implemented his wrestling and jiu jitsu, he would easily be top 3.
think he will in his next fight as I think his opponent will attempt to take him down multiple times
@@lairdog2001 Sould be top 3 anyway, got robbed against Jared
too many UFC fighters want to try to be elite strikers now because they think it boosts their fan support and numbers. Maybe they are right to a degree but winning is what ultimately will do it. Strickland is nowhere close to elite striking level. He needs to be more aggressive with hus grappling as well imo.
I love when fighters even in the same division can be friendly and learn from each other
Alex has left the division
Pereira’s padwork is so fun to watch. Perfect technique.
This is awesome to see. More wholesome than Till and khaz
