Project 0127 | Prototype aluminium composite panel engraving and folding tool
The make it extreme team made up a tool that would be cheap, useful and fast in order to be able to carve the material and create angles that are necessary to place this material.

The production quality of your videos is always getting better and the unique things you make are amazing. Thanks for taking the time to show us your work.
Good one and that was really extreme for this purpose. We can also do it with circular saw and a Grove blade.
The circular saw is also adjustable for depth of cut too, to cater for different thickness ACP. In the demonstration - it seemed to me the tool was taking too deep a cut. However, like you indicate Abdulaziz, at building the tool he is an absolutely craftsman.
@@BenMitro I really wonder if you could use this concept and use only one blade and make it some what adjustable. Grinders are high speed so it should work right? With it being one blade and using some sort of adjustment screw and a set screw to lock it you can adjust it to what you need. The other idea would be some sort of off set hole and when you twist it expands in or out. Its still a really nice tools when you use the same sheet size over and over and seems much better than using a saw. Provided the space between the cutter and end is exactly a good measurement say 100mm or 1 inch or something like that.
@@BenMitro " it seemed to me the tool was taking too deep a cut. " I thought he did that on purpose so it can be aluminum brazed ( some call it welding but I think it's more like brazing ) to reinforce the corner! But he did not show doing this so I could be wrong.
Another great video! I'm not trying to troll, but........ why couldnt you just use a router to cut the "v" groove?
A router with its changable inserts, variable speed and depth of cut would indeed be the right tool not only to cut groves into Dibond, but also lots of other materials. While being a nicely crafted device, I don't see any advantage in doing quite a complicated building job on the lathe for this device, other than to make an interesting YT-video and provoke a lively debate in the comment section ;-)
@@Makatea Indeed. I didn't want to come across negative, I absaloutly love these mad build videos. All of them show a genius mind at work using engineering to create new mad inventions and tools. They show alternative thinking, inspire and entertain all in one.. superb!
Portability and versatility. If this can work on steel it could be handy doing repair welds in tight spaces by cutting a nice clean v where you need to weld a repair. I am thinking of two cracked frames I had to weld in very inconvenient spots... one was a pneumatic ramp and the other was a truck bed. This may have been nice if it would have fit, not sure.
Well done! That is an amazing build & I am sure that it could be useful in many different industrial applications. 👍👍👏👏
I hope this idea hits the world and can make you millions of dollars!!!
Very cool, I'm always impressed with the ideas and creativity. I love watching the lathe work and the longer videos! Awesome!

Hello, make it extreme, how are you? I hope you are fine. I really like all your works without exception. I like and enjoy them. I thank you for this and I am one of your followers from the first and always, so that you release a video on KZhead that I watch first, even if I am at work or something, I encourage you to I wish you success and more creativity
This would be useful for many applications; *well done.*
Extreme Superb manufacturing process of prototype aluminium composite panels engraving and folding tools. V grooving and then folding ACP is so beautiful ✨💫✍️👍👍👌👌🙏🙏
❤️
I see it saying prototype. Just my thoughts, isn't the grove it's cutting a bit too deep?
one can always make bigger diameter guide rollers or just use some shims or sacrificial layer of smth on top
@@DrWeb70 beat me to it by an hour lol
I was thinking the same. In my experience 3mm aluminium sheet bends well with a 1.5mm cut. Maybe make the adjustments by swapping out different inserts for different depths (1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm)?
Amazing build and idea !! by the way, I think if you make larger or smaller OD wheels you can cut shallower/deeper grooves, good for various applications .
Haha, just opened KZhead and got your video. What a good surprise
Can you build a milling machine? I think that would be a pretty bad ass project.
Brasil
Think it's been done a couple times. But I'd enjoy it as well!
I would love to see you build one.
Brilliant idea, dude! Really well done!!! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That unique idea brother, nice!
Nice sharing the video 🤗🤗
Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented
The videos on this channel are always the most entertaining
technically you can use a standard flat end mill and use an angled plate so you always cut at 45 degrees, to turn the [ cutter into a V cutter.
That's how we do it with a router. Just a simple metal or nowadays maybe a 3d printed thingy and you're good to go!
Awesome, every time make it extreme

long time not see, finaly i can enjoy your video
See a need...make a tool. Awesome!
Exceleeeeenttttt!!!!geniusssss!!!!
Good job komşu 👍
Can’t wait to see how this prototype iterates … also is that a Carmel colored carbonated beverage being used in place of cutting oil?! … because it looks cooler than it should when you film it!

Hi, each time a tool engages with work in your lathe chuck, there is a tiny jump upwards. It’s as if the slideways on the tailstock are loose. Look at the video, especially when using the centre drill and subsequent drills {but not only}. Cheers.
Brilliant hack mate ,especially these days we see so many grinder hacks that worth noting !
Good job 👌👌 All the best for you 👍🇩🇿
Necessity drives innovation!
Nice work
Nice tatoo 😉👍
Awesome soundtrack!
Makes more sense to modify a circular saw blade so it cuts a similar groove, less work, safer to use, built in height adjustment, and can be used with a track or fence. Still great machining!
Can also have different blades for different jobs.
I have a circular saw blade that will fit on my grinder...used it once - never again - lethal!
@@BenMitro circular saw runs at about 3x the optimum cutting speed for Aluminum but I would use a circular saw per rutger suggestion as the angle grinder runs way to fast.
@@mrrberger I didn't know that about the speed - thank you! Should I look for a speed controller for my drop saw?
Good job amezing tools are made
Good job mister good idea well done
Simply and functionfull
Very very good👍👌
That thing really needs to be on a Panel Saw type of rail system with material hold down clamp.
Good job bro...
Looking good
Perfect 🤍
I guess the router I use to do this daily is just not fancy enough. Good build either way.

The material is called ACM and in the industry we use a router with a round bit or a flat nose 90 degree bit.
Nice!
That's a bad@$$ tool 😁👍 🤔 Can you make a steel plate (sheet goods) chamfering tool? Like after using a plasma torch to cut out shapes, need beveling prior to welding. Would be cool to have a shop-made version of it 😁
Hello can this be used on mild steel sheets. To reduce the thickness from say 3mm to 1mm so it can be bent using a small press
I recon that same idea could be done with a chamfer bit and a router table with an offset fence. But where's the fun in that ;)
Can do the same thing with a circular saw and a zero curf blade.

That one is off the charts patentable. Some free hand scraping on thicker aluminum used as a sculpting tool. Damm, well done. I’ll take two. How much??? Really send me a quote.
If you're looking for a freehand sculpting tool, look into cattle hoof trimming discs. The Hoof GP here on youtube has at least one very good vid dedicated to his discs.
just buy a router
You would be limited to only that thickness of material. You would have to make additional guide wheels of different sizes.
nice 👍🏻
I mist this one and could've been doing with this - don't try bend thick alu in a press brake it goes with a big bang this would've worked at treat saved me welding up lots of cracks too
Ideia top
Super
What type of late are you using. Thanks
if its height could be adjusted, then it would be great tools
Holding a tap in a drill chuck is a most excellent way of ruining a drill chuck.
excellent tool👌👌👍😎
Ενέργεια μόνο!
Next video !! how to build a portable line boring machine?!!
Bali hadir..👍👍
yesss sirrrrr
Please help me, my friend. What is the name of the brand of the lathe machine you are working with and what is its model? What is the highest quality lathe that you recommend?
veri nice
Hello Excellent workmanship as always. I would like to get the plans to make your projects but, for me it is way too expensive. I am a retired former metalworker living on a pension and could not afford to contribute $10 per month which is the amount you want to give the plans. So, maybe if you reduced your rates, you might get more subscribers to pay monthly. However, you are a highly skilled metalworker and it is very enjoyable to watch your videos on you tube. Thank you and good luck with your work.
Make different sized idlers and you can use it on different thicknesses of steel
You could sell that! pretty cool idea
Why not use regular router ?
cool
Good fab skills but….couldn’t you do the same thing with the right bit and a router?
AMAZING TOOL!!!!!!! extremely useful!!!! looks much better than router!!!! i need one!!!!!!!
Superb can you make one for me
Can you build lawn mower
My Router can do that and more.
But, then we wouldn't have a video
Router can definitely do this better, with more control, and without all the fabrication. They even make bits specifically for use with ACM.
Yes, router is much better for that. Next video after that "angle grinder hack" will be without fingers.
But your Router doesn’t entertain 1,8 mill people.
