  • I genuinely agree with this take. I still think players need to be contractually protected and get paid during injury, but Simmons is seemingly exploiting the situation. However, it’s also buyer beware for the Nets 🤷‍♂️. If Simmons wants 20 mill without playing, then he’s gotta take the major ridicule that comes with it and the optics he’s creating (whether he realizes how disingenuous he comes across or not)

  • Stephen A is right, CBA needs to be fixed, and this time, it's the owners who are crying foul and rightfully so. We saw Simmons, Zion, and John Wall all put up 0 min of play and Kyrie almost 0 min at home, I cannot remember another season anywhere remotely like this. Something's gotta change.

Ben Simmons is an insult to every player who have agreed to a paycut just to keep their team together, who have spent countless hours practicing to improve their skills, and those who have played through injuries and gave their all each and every game. Ben, just take your money and go. You can miss all the games and shots you like, but we will certainly not miss you.

    • But how did he get a back injury if he hasn't played one second all season? He had to pass a physical for the trade to go through. I work with guys pulling the same thing as Simmons, they want to get paid but they don't bother showing up for work. Whether a guy is making millions of dollars a year or thousands, it's the same mentality.

    • Just seeing the pain that Jay Williams was in seeing an athlete in PEAK condition actively REFUSE to play because his feelings were hurt was enough to make me angry. Jay had his career taken from him before it really even began. He couldn’t play at all even when he wanted to. Simmons can play but chooses not to because of his ego. Horrible to see.
