Why is our Cabin is FREEZING INSIDE? (Off-Grid, Alaska)

Greetings friends! We just finished our seventh weekend of work on this cabin. This was definitely
the dirtiest week yet. We really kicked up some dust. But as my dad would say, "dreading it is worse than doing it". We now have it behind us and can move on to the fun stuff.
We are trying to be patient with this winter weather, but we need the snow to start melting soon. We are a bit landlocked in between these huge drifts and need to access the rest of this property. But the days are getting longer and the average temperatures are rising so it won't be too much longer.
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments. We read every single one and do our best to respond to as many as possible. So to all of you, please know we appreciate your generous words. They mean the world to us, thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • What an endearing couple! What a great job and how hard. I'm looking forward to seeing the final result because I'm sure it will be amazing. There are few people with so much dedication to what they love. If there were more people like you, the world would be different. Best regards and hugs from Spain.

    • Good morning Miguel! Thank you for these kind words. You flatter us. We do love this alpine country, this property, and this collection of worn out buildings. We intend to make something out of them. We have also fallen in love with our KZhead community. We never knew we could connect with so many wonderful people. It is just the greatest thing. Thanks for watching our videos. We will keep creating them. Peace

  • I meant to add this on the last video: she really brings so much more to the videos. The interaction between the two of you, and hearing the voices just makes it so much nicer. Really enjoyed your videos before, but this really brings it up a notch! You just might say she adds class to the videos lol!

  • My husband & I remodeled the house I live in now...plus together we turned the pole barn into a woodworking shop, heated with air & bathroom...he built a shed over looking our woods..he also built on an attached garage..when I say I it was really him, I was the gopher, finding the tools he laid down somewhere...to get me out of the house - he would say he had to go to the store to get an elbow, of course then we would eat out....After his passing, I found boxes & boxes of elbow's (copper-pvc-gavinized). I had a building built for my 3 Jd's after his passing. You two brings back memories. Great Video's with you wife added, although she was behind the camera (I believe)

Visiting with so many amazing friends, from all over the world, is so wonderful and humbling. I never dreamed of it. I wish I had started doing this a decade ago. I have enjoyed watching for a couple months now (I had to bing watch to get current). I watch with my grandkids so I can talk them through steps and planning. They act like they are having fun too. I really appreciate the two of to working together on this build, because I use the example to these young kids of the importance of husband and wife’s build relationship as well as home/ remodel. The boys liked how you explained thing to your grandson when he would help a bunch. We / I enjoy your channel a bunch. Lord bless

We carried hod, stripped forms, set up walls and mixed mud. Hard and gritty work for sure. After leaving home I chose a different trade :). Give your grandkids a hug for me and tell them it's from Alaska. Blessings

Watching Gale...hope that is correct spelling....lace up his boots brought back such strong memories of my Dad sitting in his chair, lacing his work boots, and getting ready for a day of hard work on the farm. Sometimes it's those little memories that are so strong. Things are really looking good at the cabin. That sandwich Tanya made looked so good that I had one for breakfast! Hope ya'll have a great week! God bless!

    • Thank you Mary. You make us feel so good. We just love the community on this channel. The interesting thing is before I started this channel last year I had little experience with social media. About two years ago I opened my first account. On TicTok (of all places). I did it to entertain my grandchildren (who loved it). Prior to that I had never been on any social media platform whatsoever. I had no idea what to expect, but I have completely fallen in love with the community here. It has opened up a world of wonderful people to me (and Tanya). I wish I had started this years ago. Anyway, I am rambling. Love you much my friend. Have a great weekend. Talk to you soon.
