The holy grail isn't there. People die because people get infected, they get infected because the rats up there can't get effective quarantine and tracing going. People don't die in KR and ROC not because they've dug out some magic med, but because they're not letting the damn pest spread.

    • What I don't like about them is that both that and the Astra-Zeneca one and the Johnson & Johnson one use DNA rather than RNA and I don't know how long it stay around and I don't know if it's completely impossible for the cell to accidently link in any of it into it's own DNA. With the RNA vaccines there's no such risk. I hate that worry, risk and because of that solution. It's "better" in that it's more stable and maybe more suitable in the country side in Africa or whatever but here in Sweden it suck to be risked by it since the country at-least before should had been able to keep it under whatever conditions necessary. Sadly I already have the Astra-Zeneca one in my shoulder. I had read up on the Pfizer one but not really on the Astra-Zeneca one but sadly we'd get delivery in Sweden this week and sadly that was what they had and used. I shouldn't had taken it then but it become so rushed and there was no way to see what it was before hand like when booking. My shoulder is soar now too 1.5+ days later and the first evening I wondered if I had a slight fever and in the night I felt cold though I also had eaten little and today I've had a headache especially when coughing which I do for some reason maybe just because of anxiety.

On a serious note, how much of your day and your energy is devoted to this? Personally I watch the updates a few times per week, sometimes only a few times per month and I go about living my life because I have other things that require my attention. If I were in your position, I would hate to look back at this time in my life thinking I was only a "keyboard warrior" spending multiple hours a day on this subject. Serbia, Slovakia, India said they going to, Khazahstan, Belorus etc. So anyone who is willing to produce it. And if a lot of countries will produce Russian vaccine it should spread easily around the world eventually. I think Germany is also interested and they can actually produce a lot if they decide to. All this producing countries would be able to vaccinate their own people and sell to other countries i hope. Russia increasing production and building labs like mad, but on their own its not enough to cover all countries that willing to buy it thats why they sell license.

All the process took about 50 minutes: entering a polyclinic (checking the body temperature; overshoes and masks; it is about minus 12 here now and you also have to mess around with warm hats and coats and all that), filling in a form with your consent and a questioner about possible diseases, previous shots, probable heart attacks, drugs, pregnancy if you are a female, milk feeding, etc., a brief visit to a doctor who only checked the heart rate and your oxygen, and asked "Are you OK? Well, then. Good."; then waiting in a queue, where they were forming batches of five people waiting for doses being unfrozen , then the quick shot, and finally receiving a certificate with your name and address. For the second shot they asked to come in three weeks. Three days avoid ministering with hot water, but a warm shower is possible, abstain spirits. And that's all and easy. Feeling nothing.

So many thanks again. I have said this before..... after all this is over, and in the decades to come, you will have a place in the history of this epidemic, and how we got out of it.

So, if you want to make a shoot with sputnik, it would be better to make before the holidays. Sorry for my english. If you have questions, i would be happy to answer. Get vaccinated! Be healthy.

    • Mary Prante, yes I agree, geeky is good, very good. In my opinion geeky is what makes for scientific advancements and new discoveries. Where would society be without geeks? What, would we all be punching each other out, fighting over scraps of food? Being geeky shows a level of interest and inquisitiveness not readily abundant in the general populice. Let's be clear, geeks are to be admired. People are to be proud if they or a family member is a geek. Dumbed-down is not an elevated level for which one necessarily wishes to aspire to. Yes, dumbed-down can be an amusement at times, but not everyone desires to permanently spend one's lifetime wallowing in the lower depths of society. Geeks are great...

      @mermeridian2041@mermeridian20413 жыл бұрын
    • @@mermeridian2041 that's exactly what was said in the article I read. This goes way back, over 20 years. But, if I recall correctly there was a white sheep, her name was Dolly, and she be was a clone. That was when it was noticed that her personality was not similar to the 'source', for lack of a better word. After some time, I read that people who loved their pets wanted to clone them before they died. By that time it was scientifically known and relayed to the pet owners that a clone would look like their beloved pet, but would have a unique personality. I don't remember, but I think there was mention of other possible issues, possibly health, or lifespan, or maybe something else. It was a long time ago, before wide internet usage. Very interesting.
