  • Sometimes I inadvertently neglect to appreciate just how many aspects of medicine or pragmatically useful health facts I learn from this brilliant man every day because it is all interspersed within generic Covid news. Thank you, Dr. Campbell.

    • I've known a lot of this because my daughter was born with just under 1/2 an immune system. Her Pediatrician would not refer her to an immunologist, saying that she was the wrong gender for such a thing. She had infections nearly constantly, and it was up to me to keep her alive. At the age of 12 months she finally fit into newborn sizes. I got her into a University at 13 months of age, after I had spent many hours combing through medical libraries, photocopying much data. She ended up with the top pediatric immunologist in the U.S. He questioned me thoroughly, and I became known as "the mom who kept her baby alive". So much of what Dr. John says. I know to be right. But I've also learned at lot here also. I didn't know about vitamin D. I had heard of using zinc, but it wasn't given the kind of weight that Dr. John gives it. Personally, I use his recommendations and it's (so far) the first winter I've been virus free - in over 60 years of living!

Because as you quite rightly said, existing new variants might be circulating in other countries not on the red list... and brand new, even worse variants could be out there that we just don't know about yet.

He had to be tested before he got on the plane to HK and will be tested two more times during his stay in the hotel. And EACH of those times, he has to have two swabs taken - one nasal and one oral. During this time, he has to measure his temperature twice daily and keep a diary to hand in before leaving. Obviously he has to stay in the hotel room, but the door also starts beeping if keft open and someone comes up to check.

Regarding the Covid vaccine (as well as any other vaccine and/or medication) that is why the have 3 different stages of trials. It IS always good to ask first. after all with medications there are risks, that is why you should ALWAYS consult to a trained physician before taking anything.

Our hospital rates are starting to fall and our vaccination levels are the highest in the world (of any major country). Our strategy is working and at this rate we should will be opening up the economy next month and end all restrictions by the end of March (when we should have full vaccination of everyone over 50 and vulnerable, which accounts for 97% of deaths)
