  • 22:38 Hello :) I want to give a tip, so that the pages do not look like this when you use paint or gesso on them. (I have been making books like this for many years for me to spend time on collage (my glue book) and I have had the experience of verifying which method is better :) If you put glue all over the sheet, to stick one against the other, but the glue is not spread evenly, then it will create a very uneven surface and when you use paint or gesso, everything is worse. You will see all the marks where the glue made contact and you will also see the areas where there is no glue, forming that blown texture (I don't know how to translate it better from my Spanish to English. Sorry. Hahaha). It is better not to use glue on the entire sheet, but only on the entire edge, a couple of centimeters (one inch) and it is better to use the glue stick. Thus, when you use paint or gesso, it will be flatter, once the sheet dries the moisture. It will be better later to make a collage or a decoration ... I hope to help with this. Have a nice day :)

  • From the few years I have been making altered books- my only piece of advice is to start with a strung book. If the book is glued, the weight of the pockets, pages, embellishments, etc. will pull on the glue on the spine and your book will not last as long as a stitched book. I recently had a local artist ask me to fix her altered book that was made very similar to this one-- it was possible to fix it- but it was never going to look the same as before. As long as it is not something you plan to keep and treasure forever, skip the glued spine and look for a stitched one.

  • I made my first altered book last year and loved doing it, and I've been meaning to do another one. This has given me the boost to do so again. First thing though is finding a book. I used acrylic paints to paint some of the pages. A few of the pages I left but decorated by stenciling. Thanks again Tina you are inspiring.

By the way, I must give you a big THANKS because your channel inspired me and gave me the courage to start my own channel. I take my hat off to you for doing so much, because now I know how much work is involved! Anyway, I look forward to seeing the autumn themed pages in your AB! 💛🧡❤️💛🧡❤️

  • I’m going to have to make one now. Great tutorial! I watched Shannon Green make a glue book and she said, she was told that starting in the front or back with the first glueing of pages then alternating to the opposite keeps the spine from going wonky. Just a though if it’s a thinner book. Thank you for sharing! Can’t wait to see how this goes.
