I feel that I need stuff to do stuff...I have a completely full craft room but I buy soooo many digitals and art products for my projects that I’m just swimming in things! This definitely interferes with my creativity and takes a ton of my time with organization...I’m going to try to work with what I have for a bit and I think I’ll be able to create a ton more ... Yes, there is pressure to do things in certain ways. Consequently individualism is lost. For me, I hate “fall colors” (orange yellow red brown) until I actually observed fall colors, which are more greens and blues with torches of orange red and gold. My roses and Russian sage are still in raging bloom, so bright pinks and purples too. I am re examining what commercially is Autumn, and what autumn means to me. I think this is why you are my favorite artist in the journal genre, you still have the pioneer spirit that is the heart of junk journaling!

TFS! Finding your style is so challenging and can be disabling sometimes. I do a lot of paper crafting and I do enjoy the vintage look but I have started doing something most of the crafters I watch do NOT do. I have started edging and inking with colors. Bold colors sometimes. Sometimes in complementary colors and sometimes not. It has been great fun and liberating :-) Also, I appreciate your editing. And finally, others have said it, I have said it, your voice and inflection is so pleasing I would watch a video on how to wash dishes if you narrated it. Bahahahaha!

I love watching other people doing their thing, but you are right, you get overwhelmed sometimes and end up doing nothing, or feeling like your style isn’t as good. That takes the fun away. Wow Joie!! This was so much fun to see, i really missed your channel and I'm so happy I watched this. I did make an alerted book last year but unfortunately I never used it, I did the fatal mistake of adding card stock design pad papers to all the altered pages so in the end I wasn't happy with what i had done, maybe I'll use it in the future but your tips have really helped me to understand how to successfully make an altered book work for you. I don't have mica... but I do have metallic acrylic paints that I've put in a spray bottle with water. I get a beautiful sparkle effect!! Great destressing video... thx you!😉 Fyi... leave your black handwritten notes on the page!! It adds a new dimension!!

Oh my goodness, I have been zigzagging pockets onto pages of a month by month gardening book/journal I've been making. Got to October and my machine stitches keeps bunching up underneath. After about 6 times I decided threading and threading it was not going to help. I've downed tools ( before the hammer came out) and I am now relaxed and watching this blog. After a cuppa and a roll around the floor with my dogs, I will return to the 'hidious thing', manual in hand and will finish calmly as there is no stress in Craftstress!!!.

Oh my gosh I love your videos! I tore out 2 pages every 3 pages then used tacky glue to stick the pages together. My pages are very lumpy. Do you have any suggestions, to help with, for my next book?
One idea might be trying to use less glue.....also don't worry, go for having fun with your spreads. Lots of flip flap envelopes and pockets on top!! 👍😁💜

I have my book altered, machine stitched the pages together, instead of gluing. [some are pretty wonky, which works for me] . Then I stopped....where was it going? I did think about adding paint to the pages like you have, but not until I have decided if it will become a Dec. Daily, and what colors I want to use. [not trad.] I guess the blank page can be 'blank ideas' too.

Do you take out some of the book pages or just glued them together?
