As the Wandsmen Hub author, thank you so much for putting a spotlight on the work the Wandsmen team has done so far. We continue to have multiple stories in the works and hope you enjoy them!
X to doubt
@@grilledleeks6514 Well I didn't do it alone. I'm chaucer345 on the wiki. The first Wandsmen story was written by Metaphysician and I continued on with his blessing, then others joined in. I did write the hub though (with assistance with formatting from Cole).
I just want to ask, your ok with adding articles to the hub? Soon i will aply to the wiki, and after i get more experienced in main SCP format i want to write wandman article. I know there guidlines for comunity projects but i think asking the author is good idea.
@@eksprolek2924 I am responsible for that, yes. If your articles are deemed worthy by the wiki at large, I would be glad to add them to the hub.
Love the work you guys have done can’t wait for more been meaning to come up with my own organisation for a while will be fun to see if it gets dunked on or loved hahaha.
SCP Foundation: * _commits highly unethical acts_ * The Wandsmen: *"In bird culture, that's considered a **_dick_** move."*
Well those Wandsmen got their right in their daily points!
cloaca move
Honestly the relationship the SCP foundation has with other GOI is that they’re a dick to everyone, but at the same time very helpful. Like a guy saving you from being on fire, by throwing a bucket of pee on you.
Nice
I'd rather be the right hand of the devil than the left foot of god. i.e I'd rather take on Wandsmen duty than SCP meat grinding. Meaning we are all meat for the Foundation no matter of rank or affiliation. Even the council is even sometimes subject to ultimate an demise because of their work. Remember good dog boi Council Member #[REDACTED]? No you don't because it's covered up by the Folly of the Foundation(s). Remember KOTOR and KOTOR II? What Master Kreia was trying to teach us all? We don't NEED The Force AT ALL. It's merely a tool that has a will of its own that can never truly be mastered because of its nature, sickening. I FINALY understand Darth Traya and her real teaching. The Light Side cannot exist without the Dark Side, but only together can they make you truly invincible. How many thousands of years and it lost ANYWAYS to the prequels and then even worse the DISNEY CANNON? Fuck me. Am I the only one left that SEES that and understands it? Flark Disney, they create "Cinematic Moments" but not very good movies or additions to the over-all cannon, in fact the actively DESTROY ALL OF IT in the process. THIS Wandsmen is fucking so great, it inspired me to author some more in my own endeavors in my own AI Dungeon Adventure I have going. A Kenku I will add later on that I have already been thinking on MONTHS before this so, God to another author, I thank the creator of this piece.

I wonder what the wandsmen opinion is on SCP-507. Must suck knowing that there's a guy who can travel the multiverse and DOESN'T turn into a bird person.
He can't control it so they probably find it funny
I wonder what would happen if they gave him a map. Would it mix with his ability? Would they clash and some bad stuff happen? Or just alotta nothing. Where's bright? he'd be down to find out.
Considering one of the Harbringer SCPs, it's someone from a mirror world controlling his teleportations.
The wandsman in the Alagada article does seem to mention him, finding him a strange curious case.
He's always teleported to a universe he can survive in though. Something that some wandmen seem to have trouble learning.
1:20 'they can use the marker placed on their maps to easily teleport back to their beds' God what I wouldn't give to have this ability irl

Agent Briggs proved his loyalty to the Foundation even when offered the map that can teleport you anywhere. He deserves to be on the O5 council one day.

These guys seem cool. Interesting how they transform into a type of bird they previously found repulsive, it makes me imagine a lot of them are "ugly" types of birds like vultures or turkeys, or perhaps birds that are often considered pests/nuisances like pigeons or seagulls. There might also be good number who became birds infamous for their aggression towards humans, like geese, roosters, or Australian magpies, etc.; I'm imagining a wandsman who grew up on a farm and was terrified of the family rooster, only to end up turning into one as a direct result of their trauma.
It's even worse tho. Your looking at this from a person from our earth and our dimensions point of view. These are birds aliens from other dimensions found repulsive....like who knows what kinda messed up looking melted skin, 4 leg, , teeth for eyes looking birds they have where they come from.
Guessing there are a lot of turkey vultures, shoebills, spoonbills, and chickens
Knowing that, I'd probably be a bluejay. Pretty birds, but they're loud bullies who harassed all the cardinals and other birds where I used to live and would feed daily. Had to chase them off every time, especially when the cardinals would bring their young around to feed
Turn into a woodpecker
Peregrine falcons are repulsive, peregrine falcons are repulsive. Seriously tho I don't find any animal and especially birds repulsive so I wonder how that would work.
I wanna believe the scp writers are actually just our universe's wandsmen
I was a bit skeptical about Wandsmen because the synopsis sounded boring. But fuck me after watching this video i feel like they are the most interesting GOI
What is "GOI" Short of?
@@navidzamzami9220 Group of Interest
@@lorddio663 thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
@@navidzamzami9220 GOIs are organizations parallel to the SCP Foundation that have different interests and goals. Other GOIs include the Mekhanite and Sarkic Cults, the mages of the Wanderer’s Library, and the FBI Unusual Incidents Unit.
@@Kropothead thank you so much for the info
For those of you (like me) who've been digging through the listed artists trying to figure out where the image around 45:30 comes from, it's not in there. The artist is Michael Hutter, who did a series of Carcosa paintings. This particular one is Carcosa XLI, also called The Bird Market. I think his Carcosa series is gorgeous, but views may vary of course.
i thought it kind of looked like a beksinski, especially with the choice of color pallete
Thanks!
Strange is the night when dark stars rise and strange moons circles through the skies, but stranger still is lost Carcossa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing, Where flap the tatters of the King, Must die unheard in Dim Carcosa.
The wandsmen are a pretty cool unequivocally good faction for the SCP universe
Not entirely, they can do some fucked up shit for the sake of storing information.
@Qagmez 7668 theyre against amnesticising
Grain of salt: They are a large multidimensional media outlet led by Editors. The possibilities of large scale propaganda, cover-ups, and general or malicious mismanagement are endless. That being said, personally, I'd probably always trust a wandsman.
Any large organization that has stated goals will eventually do some pretty shady things in support of those goals - it's just a matter of time and opportunity, both of which they have had a lot of. There are plenty of skeletons in that particular closet, we just haven't read about any of them yet.
@@DarkVeghetta i think wandsmen mostly do good stuff.
What a fantastic story. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by all the interesting, well written SCPs, but this is the first SCP in awhile that completely immersed me and made me wish there were complete book series based on the Wandsmen. I hope the author writes many, many more of these stories and continues to flesh out the Wandsmen lore
Agreed, the concept of scholars and writers who travel the multiverse searching for stories and knowledge to share with others is so interesting!
@@undeadprinceofchaos3731 Is the plague doctor a wandsman.
@@bababoyyye I don’t think so, he made have a bird mask that’s part of his body, but that’s the only avian part about him. However, Ikkis made it pretty clear in SCP-6500 that he’s familiar with the plague doctor, so it’s possible all the Wandsmen are familiar with him and know what he really is!
@@undeadprinceofchaos3731 I think they're connected someway.
@Eliot I was immersed the entire time I feel there is soooo much potential for stories from their perspective seeing as their order sound like they are billions of years old
Finally! I've been fond of the Wandsmen ever since I found out about them. I just love that there's a faction of friendly bird-wizard scholars who just wants information to be free, while also being seemingly powerful enough that they don't really need to take any shit from the Foundation. (Although, I must ask: Who the heck finds canaries repulsive?)
Mine safety officers?
Who finds any bird repulsive?! Other than my wife, she's scared of birds, lol.
When I read the Wandsmen originally, I saw them as an allegory for the readers/writers of SCP articles. We jump between all the different tales/worlds/dimensions, some people just observe and others join in.
I wanna make a SCP that will occasionally pop up and just solve whatever problem the foundation is having, no matter the scale or what the threat is. I’m not super knowledgeable on SCP cannon, but since my SCP is literally just the concept of someone dropping out of know where, solves the problem then leaves with no explanation, only answering the occasional question with some cryptic answer that only confuses everyone more. It’s not like it’s a savior of humanity in its darkest hour, usually it will just show up and slap the wrist of whatever foundation member is about to make an ethical decision so dumb it creates a really obvious problem. I just find the idea of chaotic neutral SCPs that kinda just do shit and no one knows why
At this point, I'd like a wiki to keep track of the wiki. Though, until then, your videos are a welcomed blessing.
I'll be honest, it sounds like a pretty sweet gig. Going about the multiverse as a magical reporter, bringing knowledge, helping people, and even sometimes saving lives? That's straight out of a much brighter setting than the SCP foundation. And while the bird shape may be less than ideal, it doesn't seem like there's anything keeping you from coming to like your new body, and it certainly comes with enough benefits...
The Wandsmen are generally kinda heroic and likable.
I'd sign up for the bird shape alone
@@jeremy7157 I like the sound of the bird shape too, but given how it's explicitly described as a shape you dislike, I suspect even if you like all earthly birds it'd manage to find some bird from somewhere in the multiverse that still manages to turn your stomach.
I've been a long time fan and can't even begin to tell you how honored I am to have my art used as the thumbnail, it's an awesome feeling, thanks man!
I'm the hub writer for this GOI. I have to say I'm very impressed with your work. I don't suppose you'd be interested in doing some more illustrations for the wiki?
@@jessamynpratt5068 That sounds like it could be a fun project. I'd be more than happy to discuss details with you. Do you have a preferred method of communication?
The Wandsmen are cool enough on their own (especially with the orientation style intro story) but any SCP that includes the hanged king instantly becomes one of my favorites.
Same.
The role of the canary is a nice touch. Back in the day Cole miners used to keep one in its cage with them down in the mines. If there was a buildup of carbon monoxide or something, it would kill the canary before it was overwhelming enough to kill the miners, telling them it was time to get out. In short, highly useful but ultimately expendable.
just like d class

I guess they can be considered the secondary faces of The Wanderer’s Library aside from The Serpent’s Hand.
I would say it seems more like they have a working relationship.
Huh your right I guess they are more of a “Wanderer’s Library” SCP. I personally always associated them with Alagadda because the first time I heard one mentioned was in that SCP.
I hope Briggs features in more articles. Hes a pretty cool dude
He's had cameo appearances in SCP-5316 and SCP-5687, but he probably does deserve some more focused content.
Good for agent Briggs! He's truly loyal to the foundation and humanity. It's so refreshing to not have one of the weak agents who gives in to the anomaly. He stuck to his guns.
Its refreshing to see fundation personell not evil. I usually read stuff where they are.

Wait a minute: bird people in search of knowledge, travels the mutilverse, and they are good at magic... I smell some Tzeench tomfoolery going on.
This is a really interesting GoI. Not just because of the intruiging aesthetic of a bunch of superhuman, anthro birds with maps zapping across the universes in search of finding and spreading knowledge, but also because their news reporter's flair makes for an interesting opportunity to experience the SCP multiverse from a much different perspective than the iconically formulaic database entries. Journalism of the goings on in these weird worlds rather than the persistent, documented struggle to uphold normalcy, that we have become very familiar with.
I can't help but picture the Wandsmen as the Chozo in my head. A race of very knowledgeable "alien" bird people, capable of feats way beyond our comprehension. Now all we need is an interdimensional bounty hunter with a power armor
The form makes perfect sense, as observers of everything you don't want to be part of the story. How often do we see birds but not really pay them attention?
Am gonna guess these guys are the mage equivalent of the Kingsmen. Edit: Just starting, and I think I'm proven wrong... although this talk of the Multiverse fascinates me.
SCP is the gift that keeps on giving, and the current schisms between certain groups is especially sad. Nonetheless, we appreciate the work you do more than words can say. Thank you.
what schisms?
@@IdiotinGlans yeah wtf did I miss???
Schisms in utopia are typically invented, man made. No matter where, there are schisms. Luckily for us, it's not life or death.
@@IdiotinGlans From what I heard the spanish branch has been removing pride flags from the SCP logo in their articles due to a policy of having no poltical imagery in their articles. There might be some other stuff going on, like them leaving up other political statements and targeting just the pride flag, but I'm not sure if that has been confirmed or not. Regardless this lead to some authors demanding their articles be removed and any other things they write to not be translated for the spanish branch. I know somewhere it was metioned that someone was trying to talk to the people who run the spanish branch.
@@raghnall847 people think that because we all like SCPS we have to agree on everything else. It just not the case. To try and force people to conform to another’s beliefs for the sake of unity is no better than any government that tries to control and limit what people know/think.

now, when you say you become a repulsive bird, does that mean, say, if you found shoebills particularly ugly in your human life, you would become a shoebill as a wandsman?
That might be what they were implying. You change to resemble a bird that you personally find ugly and/or repulsive, which would make it understandable why a number of Wandsmen have tried to find a way to change back.

I quite like the idea of the transformation as a job requirement. Reminds me of followers of certain gods in Warhammer and other fantasy tales. It seems quite unique in regard of Wandsmen since the bird shape seems to be usefull in multiverse travel... Heck yeah! I’ve always wanted to know more about the Wandsman, but just thought everyone had forgotten about him and anything in Alagadda in general. Glad to see I was wrong!
Another good scp video from my favorite scp channel. With a story about my boy the Hanged King and Alogotta at the end. Very nice
If I didn't have to become big birds cousin I'd be pretty down to join these guys. Seem like a decent group with decent goals and decently powerful. Sadly I'm found of aposable thumbs and things. Plus I feel like that map would get me stuck in the 40k universe or something and that's not really some place you wanna go, especially not looking human and hard to kill.
I mean looking like a Lord of Change is probably really not great either 😅
That spider part in the middle of the video sounds like 342, A Train Ride to Nowhere. Way to bring out the arachnophobia in fans with this one. I like the multiverse side of the SCP Foundation a lot more than the monster of the week articles you usually get. I feel multiverse stories can be very interesting, like this one, and has lots of potential.

It's a fascinating look at how red is used as a symbol in so many works (SCPs and also has implications for other things too). I'd love if you would cover this SCP! I like the plasticity of the concept and the fact that they can become a spin-off universe in a way. It has lots of space for creative licensing and can utilize a variety of different styles. While SCP is almost always a dry document with rare exceptions of logs and such, wandsmen prioritize stories in any written form, I feel. It can be very personalized depending on the author or the Author.
Omg this is amazing, I think this is my new favorite SCP!
The day will come when you will have nothing left to talk about but gamers against weed. You can run but you cant hide forever
As they are both scholars and explorers, I think Lord Blackwood would get along nicely with one of them =)
This was a pleasent surprise! Quite enjoyable!
Absolutely breathtaking
This is so interesting! Wow. I loved this. I'd love a book on something like this, or the author to write more. Or anyone, really. Glad you covered this so we could learn of it!
Thank you for covering one of my favourite gois.
so, basically a multiverse version of the AP and made up of different breeds of birds? This actually makes so much sense for some reason. Love the channel.
That was so good, thanks for making my monday
Don't take thing the wrong way, but I listen your videos while falling asleep and it works. Having real bad insomnia most of the time, this is a nice change.
Three big groups I wanna see a first hand videogame of. A life of a mechinite, the life of a wandsmen, and the life of a fairy from the demon hector story ark
