FILM DESCRIPTION:
Angels and Demons re-teams director Ron Howard and star Tom Hanks for the sequel to their international blockbuster adaptation of Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code. Although the book Angels and Demons was written before the novel The Da Vinci Code, the movie transpires after the events of the earlier movie. Hanks stars as professor Robert Langdon, the most respected symbologist in the United States, who uses his knowledge in order to decode a symbol on the skin of a murder victim. The clues put him on the trail of an international conspiracy involving the Catholic Church. Ewan McGregor and Ayelet Zurer also star in the Sony Pictures production.

I have visited the pantheon in Rome. Beautiful structure, especially the interior with all it's decorations. Shame the christians desecrated it by making it into a church and destroying the old pagan statues and decorations. But at least this prevented the whole building from being torn down and lost to history like many other temples of ancient times.

A temple dedicated to all of the Roman gods .when Christianity became the state religion the temple was rededicated to the new God of the Romans I.e the Christian God .The Christians were Roman citizens they just didnt come out of nowhere so there is no usurping just repurposing . It's similar to how ankorwat was a hindu temple which was turned into a Buddhist temple when the people in Cambodia converted to Buddhism.

The Christian holidays are symbolic. No one is completely sure of the exact dates. The Catholic Church tried to help pagan believers by showing them that their beliefs were false prophesy and offered them a loving chance to know Christ. We should thank them mightily. Prayers.

I love this movie! Buuuuut.... 1) Do you even History, Bro? This bush league mistake by Langdon undermines the character they have established. Throughout the entire series, he is Mr. Explainy ExplainyPants who knows everything about everything. One of the central tenets of historical study is that you have to examine _______ through the lens of when it took place. NOT right now. BEFORE I GO ON- No.... Raphael was not moved to the Pantheon in 1759. As the placard on the wall says, it was in fact his wish to be buried in the pantheon. This was due to his love of it's perfect proportions. He was granted his wish and was the first artist ever given such an honor. The only thing of note wit Raphael was that in the 1800s, the Pope ordered his tomb open to verify that his remains were in fact present and they were. Back the story though- There is no way a trained Historian who knows everything about the subject matter doesn't think historically. So he definitely would not have started at the Pantheon. 2) Langdon claims Raphael "Built" the Chigi Chapel, but no. He helped Design it. He does also say "he wasn't buried in it, he designed it", which is closer to the truth. It was worked on by multiple architects and more builders than I can remember. They broke ground on it in 1507, and it wasn't completed for over a150 years. Raphael died in 1520. 3) WTF Lady? The tour guide lady may have been caught off guard by the detailed question, but why does she apologize as say "I can only think of one"? Does your one answer satisfy the parameters of the question? Then just answer it! lol That's it for now. And yes, I have way too much time on my hands.
This movie was flashy, but it lacked in plot: In the book I liked the scene with antimatter explosions better described because there was a hint of Divine Mystery with 1. The antogonist to be seen alive an well 2. People shouting his name thus technically electing him as a new Pope. Even after the grand reveal it would look better. Not to mention that part where Langdon realizes there is only one parachute taken by the villain and he has to jump into river without one.
@@queterian1526 absolutely! I found the film entertaining enough, but agree that it was so adapted that it lacked any resemblance to itself. The book was absolutely riveting. That was "edge of my seat", "can't put it down" kind of reading.

По окончании 3,5 лет произойдёт второе пришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, Антихрист(ДЬЯВОЛ) будет побеждён(никакого покаяния с его стороны НЕ БУДЕТ), но побеждён исключительно словом, и заключён в ад, где его муки будут вечными, но не бесконечными. А ПОЧЕМУ НАСМЕШКА. Дело в том что В ФИЛЬМЕ УПОМИНАЕТСЯ о таком страшном пороке как ПОХОТЬ, А вот КАК примерно ВЫГЛЯДИТ ДЕМОН МУЧИТЕЛЬ ПОХОТИ ПОКАЗАНО В этом ФИЛЬМЕ. НО ЭТО очень «тонкий» момент, ПОНЯТЬ который МОЖНО будет ТОЛЬКО ЧИТАЯ, И ГЛАВНОЕ, ИЗУЧАЯ КНИГУ ЖИЗНИ, СВЯТОЕ ЕВАНГЕЛИЕ.
