If I remember correctly, in the same mission where you go to the top of the windmill, there are these giant goop balls rolling down the path. But if you spray them with water it's revealed that they are just giant piranha plant heads that are covered in goop. So the question is do they count as touching a piranha plant?

Fun Fact: In Super Mario Bros., level 1-1 is hardcoded to not have Piranha Plants in any pipe. Outside that level, every single pipe in the game has one, and if it doesn't, that's only because the game's sprite slots are full. However, the devs specifically made it so there aren't any in 1-1. If you play the same level in a glitched world (basically any world past 8, which you are not supposed to reach and which can thus yield very interesting results, but some are just normal levels like 1-1), there are piranha plants in the pipes because it's not 1-1 anymore

I wonder how fast you can touch a Waddle Dee in every Kirby game? On the other hand, this was a very well done video. Maybe we can touch more enemies in other games.
For Mario 64, there’s a Pirahna Plant much closer to the start of Whomp’s Fortess, in the grass next to a flower bed a bit to the right of the start position. Unless it’s not there when you select the first star for Whomp’s Fortress? There’s that pesky possible Mandela Effect…
I remember there being one over there in Galaxy 2 for sure, but I've never played 64 so I can't really confirm.

You may have stopped me from correcting you on the Venus Fire Trap in SMB3, but you can’t stop me from correcting you on the Superball Flower that you called a Fire Flower in Super Mario Land, you probably mildly embarrassed duck.
1:40 according to Viridi on smash bros ultimate, there is a lot types of piranha plant, so that's official, this IS a piranha plant 3:13 and this is a piranha plant too
I’m just saying that you could’ve touched a piranha plant faster in SM64. You could’ve just walked straight right in Whomps Fortress to touch a piranha plant instead of climbing up half the level.

In Sunshine, you don't have to complete chapter 1 in Bianco Hills. You can directly go to Petey Piranha even in chapter 1.
You can actually skip Bianco 1 and go straight to the Petey piranha fight.
Fun fact in Super Mario Sunshine, In level 1 of Bianco Hills, you don't need to beat the goop plant. Petey Piranha is in the stage and you can just go all the way up to him straight away. It's one of the only shines you can just do out of order right away.

You messed up on Super Mario Sunshine. In Bianco Hills there are regular small piranha plants that spawn in the goop in places that come out and shoot you. One specially I can think of is on the windmill path. And if you wash them off with water you can see they are regular Piranha plants. You didn’t need to go toe Petty Piranha
Fun Fact: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door has a similarly named Piranha Plant in Floors 80-89 in the Pit of 100 Trials, so... whee.
Fun fact: not only is there not a Piranha Plant in SMB1 1-1, there's a Piranha Plant in every single pipe in the game... except specifically if the level you're playing is 1-1.

In the Mario Sunshine one, I'm pretty sure there is one of those small Piranha Plants that you inflate with water near the windmill's bottom? (Am I remembering wrong, or do you count them as Goop?)
