  • One lesson I've learned about sports and training is that to do your best in a specific feat/event, before you do specialisation, you need to do a lot of general training to build a bigger, stronger foundation.

  • I spent 15 years working in IT. I hated 80%-90% of it. 200 days a year, 15 years, 3,000 days and 30,000 odd hours of actively HATING everything about my job. I kind of liked the work - but the people I worked with were routinely AWFUL - legit geniuses who couldn't understand that being constantly correct about network engineering doesn't mean their shitty opinions about migrants, or gender and sexual minorities were also correct. Or the people I worked with who couldn't understand that insanely expensive IT people were professionals despite having a dalek on their desk and wearing T-shirts to the office. Being paid fortune and completely ignored, and then screamed at for being a failure when my repeated advice was ignored. I kept going because there's nothing else I know anything about that would pay a fraction of that much. And I was right - I've pursued career options that make me happier - and I'm constantly broke. I'll never own my own home. Hell I regularly worry about keeping a roof over my head and food in my fridge - I could have stuck with IT and I'd be financially pretty comfortable. Easily 4 times what I take home at the moment. My blood pressure is healthy and I can move without dying, sometimes without even crying. It's easy to get trapped by success at something you hate. And my heart goes out to anyone in that position.

    • Or maybe you are just woke and mentally weak? Why just because someone's opinion is different than your own makes it "shitty" by default aren't you people supposed to be all about "tolerance".. seems hypocritical to me.

  • Another great collab, you guys have so much to share ! I'd love to hear more about his work as a stuntman, or give more anecdotes about the behind the scenes of some project. For example in hindsight it makes sense that the wingsuit jump took a lot of preparation but I didn't expect this much. I'm sure there are other cool stories like this. Thank you for taking us along in your journey !

  • The engagement on this video seams far too low for the content it actually has. I never thought I could relate in any way to a fitness content creator that is trying to do stunts to make a living but here I am realizing that everyone has to make a decision on whether a job or project is worth spending their time or life on accomplishing.
