  • Three years ago I was at my lowest low. Life was bad. YT put Jocko’s Extreme Ownership Ted Talk in my feed, and it led me down the responsibility rabbit hole. Next I discovered Jordan Peterson, then Goggins. Then Pat Mac. These 4 men changed my life. Three years ago I was 51, working a $10 an hour job, and living in a hotel. My life had fallen apart 8 years before and I was stuck in the hole I had dug for myself. It was hopeless… I thought. These days I work out in some form 7 days a week, I’m making nearly $30 an hour at a new job, I’m growing, learning, and becoming a better person than I was the day before, every single day. Pat, if you ever read this, thank you. You saved my life. You saved my family. The inspiration you’ve given me and others cannot be underestimated or understated. You’re not just making people stronger, you’re saving people’s lives and creating a better tomorrow for us all by doing so, every single day.

Dont recall how i found him but it was like 8 years ago or something The best thing about Pat is the way he say things, like showing a sense of humour...like "GetYouSum Bands" and things like that, plus the no BS attitude. The way he is like, "ok, no gym, cool.... get outside and find some logs to lift" the practical side of it. And his basic dude stuff vids are a gospel for men. Dont learn it, KNOW that stuff lads !!!

  • As a vet who also got some wacky, very painful diseases (auto-immune arthritis and erythromelalgia!), I was down for the count for a couple years, thought I wouldn't lift or run ever again. It sucked watching my body, which was very highly fit when I was in the Army, turn soft. I recently got tired of that shit and just said fuck it, and got back to it. Going on 2 months of working out most days and it's going great!

Anything under 50 seconds is approaching the elite of the elite levels. That 55-60 second range takes some serious toughness, especially for a bigger dude. I always liked the 400 because as long as you could work harder for longer, you could be super competitive.

Elasticity of the skin, maintained mainly with the Qigong practices. 2. Strength/Flexibility of the spine. 3 For how long can you practice continuous martial arts movements in a low to the ground stance as in thighs parallel to the ground stances, a good goal is 30 minutes to an hour. Also I would also add all the grips hand/forearm/finger/toe/foot/calve strength, good for the central nervous System to train the hands feet and spine.

We've all done some sort of military service, tired, pain, arthritis and even diabetic thought we don't drink sodas or eat loads of crap. Sometimes I'll wash the dishes and need a 15 minute nap. Before my 50th I was training hard to join up for the Dad's Army but some days it's hard enough to walk let alone do the assault course. 😂 But getting better as I'm getting off all the meds they were pumping into me.

  • Similar style, im a creator. I just wanna work out, go the gym, and start doing, and body tells me what it needs and what it dont need. I try to learn as much bodyweight moves as possible, so i have a wide variation of exercises. Sometimes it is basic moves, "heavy" weights, sometimes more cardio, sometimes not at all. Variying between very basic moves and difficult ones, not forgetting weighted stretches and mobility. Jogging sometimes. I might work out hard 20 h/week for three months, then slow down for months. And start over again. Hardest part really is to not do another set or exercise even when you feel like you're superman at the moment. It sucks. It's like coitus interruptus. But it is necessary. What got me at this point was work related shoulder problem, that i started to fix, and that i have no more money to my favourite sport anymore.

  • I'm 6ft4 and I'm 40 years old. It frustrates me when people say "once you hit 40 it's over! you can't get into great physical shape!" Yet I've seen, on this channel, men and women in their 50's with incredible fitness and physique! It's total bullcrap to say it's not possible. Eating doesn't have to be expensive. My local supermarket has "REDUCED" meat twice a week, meat that needs to be consumed within the next couple of days. I bulk buy that and put it in my freezer. It's mostly beef but I've gotten into the habit of stockpiling meat in my freezer. So, when I go to the supermarket, I'll buy 8 chicken breasts and a LOT of beef like steak, etc. then put it in my freezer. Heck I'll even buy enough salmon to last a week just to mix it up up but I don't eat salmon every day as it's apparently not good for you to do that. I feel that knowing that you don't have a stable backup of protein/meat can kinda be a bit depressing because it's such a fundamental staple in ones daily meals. Eggs and meat are a part of my daily eating habits. I eat 4 to 5 meals a day and they all have protein in them. Even if I can't afford meat one week, I'll make sure I have enough eggs because I've learned just how important protein is and how damaging it can be to the body not to consume it regularly.

Unimaginable pain from head to toe, there is nowhere it doesn't hurt. Fatigue, headaches, allergies, shortness of breath, sound, smell and weather sensitivity, and for me very bad stiffness. Symptomatically very similar to Pat's illness. It has been on and off for nearly twenty years, but since 2020 has been the worst I have suffered. I feel only now I am beginning the long haul back. • Been toying with this idea that consuming a lot of water and hydration in general is a sign of acidity. I avoided acidic foods for a 90 day cycle and found that I actually didn't need nearly as much water with the same amount of work. I just found myself thinking one day, how would this possibly be sustainable in nature where survival is priority? They made us drink gallons of water everyday in the Army so I just assumed that was necessary. But now I'm thinking that it's only necessary to dilute the acidity in your system. Hydration is important, but it should be for the right reasons, not to correct or compensate for a eating habit or lifestyle choice.

    • @@finestnostalgiawhat's to overthink? Cut out acidic foods, drink less water. I maintained the experimental water intake and then reintroduced the old diet and sure enough, terrible cramps, especially in the mornings in the calves and feet. Simple really and something I experienced in the military during a course was too much water intake. Too much and your electrolytes will dilute and that's even worse than not having enough water. Think acids in general are a bad idea as cancer also thrives in acidic conditions.
