Who’s ready for an almighty Nissan GT-R showdown!!
That’s right, we’ve got four generations of Nissan GT-Rs going head-to-head to see just how far these cars have progressed from the R32 through to the R35!
When it comes to the R32, R33 & R34, they’re all powered by the same 2.6-litre twin-turbo straight-six, which has a claimed power output of 280hp in each car.
However, at the far end, we’ve got the R35 NISMO, which is instead housing a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 under the bonnet, which can put down an eye-watering 600hp & 650Nm!
So with that in mind, no prizes for guessing who’ll cross the line first. But will we see an upset through the rest of the field? Could the R32 spring a surprise over one of the newer generations? There’s only one way to find out - LET’S RACE!

Out of all of them, the 32 is probably my favourite..followed by the 34. I've still got mad love for the 33, my brother owns a 800hp R33 and it's BEAUTIFUL!!. They look amazing with certain body kits and the gun metal grey colour.

Not really considering the cars were produced more than 10 years apart, use a completely different chassis, awd system and engine. While the 32,33,34 all use the exact same engine, gearbox and chassis

It's insane that there is only a 40 kg difference between the R33 and R34, with a ~25Nm difference as well. They're both such awesome cars.
Honestly crazy to think that the R35 is nearly 15 years old, its still really holds up well in 2022

Idk there’s cars that are faster than it in a straight line and on the track for the same price with a way better interior like a 911 turbo S or a m5 cs It’s might keep up but it’s definitely no where close to the bargain it use to be

Leaving aside the R35 blitzing the field the R32 is sensational. That sound and the fact that it can still keep up with its R33 and R34 siblings shows what a menacing force it would have been when it was released way back in 1989. It certainly didn't earn its Godzilla name and status for nothing.
They all did really well~ We all knew that the R35 would smoke everyone, but between the Skyline GT-Rs, it was not too far between all of them, and it was so impressive that all of them kept up with each other very well~ I thought the R34 would win against the R32 and R33, but really, all of them still did very well. Godzilla still impresses, it goes to show how Godzilla has gotten really good overtime, and the progress that Nissan made to these GT-Rs~ EDIT: The R34 did beat the other Skyline GT-Rs, my mistake :D

Bc they’re all pretty much the same performance as Japan had laws where cars couldn’t be over 300hp which was removed by the time the R35 came out
@@emma6648 It wasn’t a law, it was a gentleman’s agreement between Japanese manufacturers I’m pretty sure. They could make something with more if they wanted but that’d break the agreement, it however wouldn’t get Japanese law involved. That’s why manufacturers especially by the later 90s were already doing cars breaking the limit but claiming the power figure was at that amount.

Curious, i'd like to see an inline 6 with 600hp vs that v6.
skylines were just your average sedan, nothing special with the top of the line model (GT-R) having only 280 HP but when nissan separated the skylines and GT-Rs, skylines were still just normal sedans but the GT-R was more performance oriented and became a literal supercar

We already know what that R35 GT-R is about so of course it's going to smoke the others but it's so refreshing to see the progress Nissan has made to the GT-R ~ Great to see how Godzilla has progressed ~~ although it would have been great to have a stock R35 GT-R from when it came out in 2008.
In terms of Acceleration sure. I have not driven any of these cars but the new one must feel like an elephant compared to the olders models.

5:55 that's like a sort of progression bar right there 😛 The R-35's just gone because of the launch control especially. I'll always have a soft spot for the R34's styling and sound though. SUCH an amazing and cool car 😊🥰 Brilliant drag races. Nice one for doing them from a rolling start at different speeds, makes it more interesting and cheers to the owners of those amazing cars for doing this with their wonderful and timeless machines 👍

Im pretty sure the gentlemens agreement created a big market for aftermarket parts. Manufacturers build overengeneered their motors for the amount of horsepower they could have(280hp) so that they could easily handle way more. They also made them easy to mod

I had an R33 back in the early 2000s. Tuned with mods & I loved it! Always wanted to drive an R34 GTR.
OMG I already love it without seeing it. I remember driving an R33 RB26 with 560hp in 2011. Every single time this... THING pulled of, you could smell pure FUEL! I loved it!

To be fair if you think about it- the GT-R R32 came out in 1989, the R35 came out in 2007, so even if the R35 was the original first GT-R in this case and not the newest one, that'd be only a diffence of 3.9 seconds in a quarter mile. Honestly? that kind of shows how impressive the R32 is for it's age since it took over 18 years to not even crunch 4 seconds from it's quarter mile time. And mind you- the R32 is not even tuned in this one yet, the RB26DETT block on it's own can do like 600 horsepower before changes are required so they could, funnily enough, match in power. Though- then you realise the R35's VR38 can do 1000 horsepower without too much of a issue and can go beyond that.
Seeing all of the GTR Generations side by is so Mind blowing. I love them all
