THIS DID NOT END WELL AT HAULOVER INLET ! | Boats vs Haulover Inlet
Welcome back to another episode where man and machine attempt to do battle with Haulover Inlet!
This episode we are back home at Haulover Inlet. Who will take the win this week between Haulover Inlet and the Boats?
As always guys, if you enjoyed this episode of Boats vs Haulover, make sure to drop an anchor on that subscribe button and give it a thumbs up! We upload videos twice a week on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
Wavy Boats:
• BOATS CROSS THE MOST D...
Drain Plug Mafia:
• Bahamas Bimini Fling 2...
The drone shots rule. Those views make it clear how challenging the conditions really are. Great vid.
I thougt the same...
The cigarette took the 1st rnd, women in Miami weigh 90 pounds. They're lucky the wind didn't float em out like a kite.
Drug running boats showing off.
C’mon, Their butts weigh 90 lbs all by themselves
Well 90 pounds before adding those amazing implants!
Lol 90 pounds cause they not hungry after sniffing dinner lol
*900lbs
Gee, that was crazy. But I think it's the first time you didn't say "I ask myself where are they even going on a rough day like this? I can't imagine anything that's fun on a rough day like that except for the fishermen!". Thanks for keeping them coming!
Round 2 - that boat stuffs it every time!
I love how the drivers are always blissfully unaware of their passengers getting crippled in the backseat.
Who woulda thought a little lake boat would bring home the victory…😎
Yeah that was a good piece of piloting.
Dude the cigarette nailed it coming in ,good looking boat I say it’s a win for them .
In round 4 when they get the win the captain gives the we're number one hand sign! I guess some folks can't appreciate the skill level of this drone pilot.
Love watching these fun boat videos
In case you’re curious- I believe Drone makes an appearance right at the end. Love your videos!
That brown boat hull design is not designed for these waves. The front of the hull does not ride up enough. Every boat I see with that hull design is just the next wave away from stuffing it.
Ironically I used to go out spear fishing in a 12' tinny with a 10hp outboard, across a bar with chop/waves at least as large as this. Never had a problem.
Love the drone shots!
Great episode very entertaining💯😎
One of the extremely rare times when a lake boat doesn't try to become a submarine when coming through Haulover. Is this a first appearance for the second boat? I don't think I've seen anything like that one before. The lower hull almost looks like a Brabus/Axopar but then it flares to nearly a Carolina bow instead of staying slab sided.
Those say 42’s seem to get more then their fair share of stuffings. I think it’s the hull design, the bow seems to dig in and cut waves rather than climb over.
No 2 - this boat is just a very expensive failure in construction, like Tesla on sea. 🤣😂
It looks great though, but after watching so many videos of them, they don't do well in rough seas.
beautiful footage
This channel is a chiropractor’s goldmine
WOW, round 2 was entirely amazing.
Ya had me on the edge of my seat today! 😂😂
Nice drone work. Looks like there are multiple drones in tour drone shot. Any mid air collisions?
The Say design engineers should stick to designing crayons
1) The drone shots are great! 2) Hey BG -- I wish you'd do a special episode regarding the boats that have the vertical bow. From watching lots of these videos, I just don't see much of an advantage, and there seems to be lots of disadvantages. What's your take? Thanks!
They don’t seem to handle ruff water well at all! Think there’s a very good reason that style went out of favor.
They suck, next question? ;
Would be interesting to interview guests after these rides.
My thoughts exactly. On round two I didn't know if that was a demonstration ride or a paid ride. That's certainly not a way to endear boating to any newcomers. Getting soaked like a wet rat in a million dollar boat No thanks
Yes and interview them after they have spinal surgery for compressed vertebrae 😮
I reckon it's a huge win for the skipper. Me personally I'd be in tears laughing at my passengers which is why I often go out on my own😊
Great video and so much better with the sound OFF!
It's interesting to see these boats hitting the waves, knowing that the water is like concrete. The hull takes a real pounding.
Yea you never want to buy a used boat from the SE area of Florida.
Yeah people dont realize how bad that tears up a hull!
@@scottgorman7166 Its like buying a flooded car that looks great from the outside and the rest is all junk same with the boats from SE Florida buyer beware JUNK
@@CaptainDayne I knew someone had a cigarette boat similar to the ones in Florida he was doing the same thing until the stern cracked and a huge repair bill
LOL.... #2 @ 1:00 , that's why we LOVVVVVVE this channel!
But hate those EU boats :
What is the vessel in the closing shot?
I have over 20 years experience of own boats ranging from 20 to 38 feet. I can only say that the Say 42 is a piece of rubbish. Just by looking at the bow design you can tell it won´t perform well in any kind of sea. It would make a great submarine though.....
ugly too
you and everyone else is saying the same thing the SAY Co should go into the submarine business instard it handles better under water then it does on top you really dont have to be an expert on boats just by looking at the design you know there is a HUGE problem just a Ripple in the water and that boat goes from a boat to a submarine 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
All those vertical bows are a nightmare!
It definitely looks Bow Heavy.
@@finster444k Still Laughing every time i watch that video over a million dollar boat and cant even handle a tiny ripple in the water just put a periscope on the boat and call it a day
Said it the last time the Say was out and I'll say it again .. that boat has an unforgiving hull design. It works really well under a narrow set of conditions. This isn't your first, second, or even fifth boat. If you screw up, it will utterly destroy you!
The Say is just ugly.
@@victorianelson8578 ... agreed on the ugly factor. By the same token, not everyone likes the look of a Lamborghini, but they do perform within the parameters of their design.
Been watching for a while now.... #2 made me say "oh wow" out loud. Sucky hull design. Low bow volume = nosedive express.
get a nice 50ft Viking cruising through half throttle that would give Haulover no chance.
Reminds me so much of the Muppet Show!
What brand drone was used
I'm not sure why, but I started watching your videos rooting for the boats, but now I root for haulover. That was a rough loss on this one. Hopefully, haulover can watch the film and come back stronger.
Dreaming of 5-0 Haulover wins.
I've always wondered about cigarette boats. It looks like the engine is all in the rear. So all that space up front, is there below deck cabin space or is that storage space or just completely unused space or what?
Keep seeing videos of that boat in round two going back and forth through haulover I suspect that's all they ever intended to do. Make that boat may be a prototype and they're trying to make minor adjustments to get it as good as they can get it.
Definitely high seas as in big swells. At the very beginning of the video it shows what used to be Ben kramer's boat. A 47' Apache. That's a very popular boat in that neck of the woods. And a nice boat, but I wouldn't wanna be out on those high seas with those huge swells. Lol, that's crazy
I'm no boat apologist Haulover is a beast but I think you were a little hard on rnd one I thought they had a solid win for the boats the passengers didn't get tossed out of the seats boats should have won in rnd 4 but given it to the lake boat! LOL love the channel TY
That first cigarette is a very common boat on all inlet channels. It's almost like yhey run back and forth so they can then go watch themselves on those channels.
Dunno about the second boat. Those drinks look like they stayed intact- that should be a half point for the boat!
Say has no business being in the ocean, it’s a 2 million dollar bay boat.
Wouldn't mind hearing the engine roar just a little more on some of those big engine boats
SeaVee is the Master of the Swells and chop!
I do not miss making boats specific too that inlet at all. That job was for the birds so to speak.
Im in Ireland but it sure like to try my '75 Fletcher Arrow through this inlet. Yes i do have arm bands.
The design of the hull at the bow of boat in round two is not a mucher (the bow goes straight down without much of a curve). That will dig into the wave every time. You can see that the other boats that have a musher design at the bow were more successful. This is a design aspect that even sailboat captains and skippers know very well when crossing oceans.
The Say hull is not designed for rough conditions, period. On flat water, however, it is fast and super smooth, with outstanding forward visibility. It does not mean it's a bad design; it just comes down to this: don't run your Harley cruiser in a motocross race.
The owner of that Say 42, is wondering why getting drenched from a bow tuck, wasn't covered in the brochure. That's a stupid amount of money, for 40 year old bayliner rough water performance.
Round two, love that vandutch getting stuffed, and yet the people sit there pretending they're not wet LOL.
It is crazy
Kidney busting with a taste of salt water!
That say was gorgeous. But they got slammed
That SAY 42 is a design disaster!
Haha ! I saw five boat wins. Beer is my friend.
And that cigarette almost made it lol
That 2nd round boat looks nice but that's a strange design and it doesn't seem to take waves to well
They are a Euro design meant to cruise the Greek Islands and such, a great boat for the designed use, not so great on a rough day. Apart from that, the skipper did a poor job.
@@marvindebot3264 There was another one from like a week or 2 ago that stuffed it 3 or 4 times and it wasn't rough. Beautiful boats though. Thanks for the explanation
I have a Hurricane that I use on the Finger Lakes in NY. No way would I ever want to try to go through Haulover with that.
👍👍
Those cigarette boats land so smoothly when they go airborne
Ladies testing their Tenas !
million $ lake boat..LOL.......................................~~~~~~~~~~~~GETS SUBBED
Stunning that so many Americans no shlte about boats. If they did, they'd have twin hull cats for these conditions.
2nd round boat achieved submarine status
Oh you mean the Millionaire Submarine the SAY 42😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 everyone is blaming the captain or driver stuffing the boat its the boat itself to me its JUNK bad design just a little ripple in the water and that boat becomes a Submarine LOL
Boat 3 that U-turned is a lake boat.
Notice how calm it is to the left as boats are exiting the jetty. It’s always calmer over there. Why do people stay in the main tidal current and get drenched like that?
classic cigarette took the waves better than that stupid looking orange space ship looking thing that probably cost more than most peoples homes.
The pounding they got meets the pounding they’re gonna get.
Boat yang bagus sekali
Why do they turn around so often?
Big deal! Those waves looked about the same as the ones on an average day in the Columbia River Gorge near Hood River, OR. 5-6' trough to crest with windsurfers and kiteboarders ripping around.
Miami must be the ruptured disc capital of the world.
OH come on man ! #1 was a win for the boats. Are you an NFL ref on Sundays ? Where are you lookin'?
I miss blue top ledgen
I'd like to hear them dogs bark on that cigarette
Round 2; you can't buy experience. This guy's lucky he's in a big boat, any smaller and he'd have been in serious trouble.
First Cigarette boat should of been given the win and not Haulover but good video.
Not after seeing the looks on the passengers reactions.
@@FamilyFlippers But is was about stuffing and not the passengers in the back of the boat.
@@ABfromWindsor Valid point, either way someone got stuffed lol
#2 looked cool but that hull design didn't work very well
what causes the waves to be at that particular spot at the inlet? has the developers placed boulders underwater or merely it occurs on really, really w i n d y days?
They're taking the difficult route on purpose, just for the thrill of it.
...Are you implying that there is a less ' Difficult Route' getting out of the Marina into the OcEAN 🌊?!?
The say 42 is really old. Must be desperate for footage. And that 1st round Cigarette absolutely won
I'm laughing as BG gives the win to Haulover at the very end of the run, knowing the crying and whining I'll read in the comments later !!!!!!!!!
That's why he does it, he knows it creates comments and that's good for the algorithm.
@@marvindebot3264 And the people are indignant about it! Too funny!
The old saying stands , 6 or 60 . I vote for 60 .
Have you seen anyone sink there?
should have speed limit through there. Orange cig boat still too fast exiting inlet
A lot of friendships ruined in that pass.
I've gone through Haulover and out on the water on a day like that. Miserable.
That Say 42 is such a piece of crap. Why do people buy those stupid gimmicky hulls? Note how the SeaVee handles things with no problem.
I agree, that's embarrassing at best - and a complete waste of money. If they are trying to make it look iconic like the old wooden Chris Craft - well they missed by a mile!
An imbalance of money and brain power
Agree, absolutely awful design for anything but light chop.
They look horrible.
The manufacturer is the winner here. Who cares what it boats like - if you care, you don't buy this boat, if you don't know or care, then you buy something that a) looks like it's "cool" and b) is more expensive than the other guy's boat. I don't see any losers here
round one should have gone to the boat
That orange colored center console is the worst hull design I think I've ever seen
It's never good idea to take a small boat out in that kind of water
unless you are having fun with it jumping waves and stuffing the boat like number 2 SAY 42 it goes from Boat to submarine status
The first clip of the Cigarette was absolutely a win ffs! You gave them a loss because of a heavy landing - in a Cig?? Its what its built for.. The boat and the captain did very well
That orange piece of junk was designed for misery. A super low windshield wasn't bad enough, so they added the hard-top bimini to be sure _all_ the water channels perfectly into the passengers' faces. Whoever designed that boat: ya failed!
what did not end well?
Finally, a decent video from Bronco basement boy. Now you're getting somewhere.... finally
W H Y ' S IT SO ROUGH AT THAT INLET/OUTLET ❓❓☹️
Not from South Florida looks like it goes from deep water to shallow water ..wind ... changing Tides The same thing where i live there are 2 inlet/outlet one is Narragansett bay and the other one is the Sakonnet River that connects to the Atlantic ocean and waves can get Huge i have seen 70 to 80 foot fishing boats heading out of the bay area an into the open ocean stuffing there bows
Why would even go out in that surf.
That second boat, those hull design is just bad
you called this one way to soon, you realy should make this a longer show way to short.
