I watched Buffalo vs Philly the other night, and was stunned at how big Thompson was. And Power is 6'6" and Tuch is 6'4". They got some big boys.

@Hashkiller429 they're young and getting tougher. Dahlin was soft in his teens. Seems he's been told to back off by the coach cause he was mean last year and straight up backs people down this year. Once power matures and gets comfortable with his size he's going to be a terror. Thompson is playing more physically. We flipped from being a dominant power play to dominant pk almost to a fault. Sabres aren't as soft as they used to be

The Sabres have younger skates and avoided just enough net crashing.
I think it's become clear over decades of watching hockey that a team without rest vs with rest is as much rusty vs oiled in reality
and yet Buffalo will go and lose the next 2 out of 4 or even 3 out of 4. They just can't play CONSISTANT hockey like this. Very strange.

Leafs falling apart much sooner in the season than I expected
They got lucky winning a few games at the start of the season and now their luck has run out. I like to see where each of the players are when they get scored on. It's pretty sad that the coaches can't get them to snap out of it.

He's NOT the goalie they touted at the end of last year for some reason as some type of goaltending "savior". I'm still trying to figure that out. He's not a very good goaltender and lets in a LOT (note - a lot - not "alot" - little grammar lesson for you) of very soft goals. I'm not impressed in the least by him at all so far.

Marner isn’t entirely blameless. He was directly responsible for Buffalo’s shorthanded goal when he coughed it up to Thompson, who broke in all alone on Woll. Just a bad play by Marner. Woll should sue his own teammates for hanging him out to dry time and time again. It’s not just this game; that’s the way the Leafs always play in front of their own net. Just a weak group. У них куча талантливой молодежи, но нет стабильности, и в обороне давние проблемы, в прошлом сезоне именно из-за слабой игры в защите и слабых киперов не попали в плей-офф. И сейчас при 39 забитых шайбах пропустили 38, поэтому и имеют на 6 побед 6 поражений. Пока не улучшат игру в обороне будут недосчитываться очков.

I think the leafs paid great. Main thing is that Matthews got a goal. That's what the team is built for, making Matthews look great! The rest doesn't matter.
The leafs top guys are to blame as much as dubas and the this gm. If you want to take up the majority of the cap you must pick up the slack for the rest of the roster. There isn't enough money. You can blame the role players but the root of the problem is the players taking up all the money. I'd love it if we didn't have a cap. Leafs get some momentum and then Keefe goes with the 4th line. Brodie and Klingberg were terrible. Reaves is like a pylon out there. I hate these pass backs, which have come so predictable that teams feast on them. Klingberg hs the wheels to penetrate the zone and doesn't pose a threat cuz he passes back, then stands still in neutral zone. Leafs deserved to lose this one. Keefe did a terrible job with lines. Why use an ineffective 4th line?

What a complete waste this past five seasons or so have been. The talent and veterans that have come and gone with absolutely nothing to show for it coupled with no care for defence or retribution is more than enough reason to make a coaching change. Keefe must have dirt on someone to have kept his job for this long
This is actually good. The more the Leafs suck and lose now the faster Keefe gets fired, and Brad trades all those free agent flops on 1 year deals because this aint a Cup contending team. Maybe we can even tank Nylander's stats so he'll resign for less!

I have thought the following for many years whether it be hockey-football-basketball etc…if any penalty awarded to an incident and one player is injured consequently, the other player should be penalized the same amount of games it takes the injured player to return !!!! It always comes down to the coach. It's his job to teach the team, make sure they're playing well with the teammates on their line and if it's not working, change it up. He's done none of that. He won't change the core 4 to different core 4 players. We saw it last year that Marner and Nylander work well together but no, let's keep things the same and expect different results. They need to right style of coach and Keefe isn't it. Some coaches work and some don't.

There's zero cohesion and team chemistry, the D core is awful, bottom 6 is useless, the 4th line is the worst in the NHL, goaltending is hot and cold and Keefe looks lost. I smell a mutiny afoot in the Oilers locker room against Woodcroft. Klingberg reminds me of Tyson Barrie. Supposed to be good offensively, absolute liability on defense. Signed simply bc he's a RHD. Actively makes the team worse bc he replaced Morgan Reilly on the PP. ZERO IQ at 6 on 5 to just lob a soft shot at the defenders' shins when you have all the star forwards out there with you. @@paulthompson8793he actually was really good against the Kings. That game could’ve very easily been 10-1. The whole team was an absolute no show that night. So easy to point fingers at the goalie. Sometimes you gotta just take a look around and realize that the whole team was ass. There was literally zero effort from anyone that game

Leaf offence and goaltending are great but their defence and work around their own blue line is horrendous. I think they should concentrate on their defence from now until the playoffs or they’re doomed to repeat an early exit. Two breakaways? A giveaway on their own blue line? Allowing Buffalo free reign around their own crease unencumbered! Pat Burns would not be impressed. Wall and Samsonov are being overworked they have to worry about the defence and goaltending.
