A flattering performance because of the terrible play by her opponent. End of the road here for Cristea in this tournament im afraid. Shes not on this level. Door is again been opened widely for the Rybakina the great.!😅

If you want to look for some answers you must begin with the fact that beginning October 2022 she had a new coach, Thomas Johansson. She spoke highly of him and of them working together after the match. By the way, Soroana is one of the most articulated women tennis players in the WTA. She speaks her mind and not in cliches, same as Rybakina.

Very happy about the astonishing game of Sorana Cirstea since the beginning of this year.
I was glad to watch Cirstea at Indian Wells where she was playing well and it seems like she's on a wave. I'd really love for Rybakina to get the Sunshine Double, but I'd probably love for Cirstea to win it even more seeing her grind and as someone who is not only talented and beautiful, but also just seems like such a down to earth type of person. No flash or unnecessary crap, she's composed and focus. Looking forward to seeing more of her.

@roter13 I don't think anyone could have predicted this straight set win. I know Sorana is playing well yes. Still never expected her to win in straight sets. This is amazing. OMG. I used to watch here from the earlier days. At one stage I thought she retired. Then I saw she was battling injuries for a while. Was glad when she came back on tour. Used to love watching both she and Ivanovic. I am happy for her win. Good luck.

I watched the last two matches. It is almost like she plays without rhytm, long balls on the baseline, variety. Also, strong backhands, slices, good forehands. Enjoyed down the Line forehands and backhands and coming at the net when she needed. Smart, aggressive play. Well done Johan and Sorana! New player!

I agree with the woman on tennis channel commentary "the bad day in office came to Sabalenka" without a doubt her worse performance the season. Though we have to give Sorana her credit 1st service was amazing down on the middle 99% of times but still not easily returnable Sabalenka only returned 5 or 6 times. Overwhelmingly unexpected above all.

When she first played years ago she was so strong and I remembered she played against Serena and she was pretty close and today it shows that she can belong in the top
This was one of the victories I've enjoyed with all my being. 😁 Sorana checkmated Belarusian playing very smartly, patiently, methodically and with cool head, what as we all know is definitely something completely opposite to style Sabalenka preferes and practices. Without fully functional service, her game is very limited... even if it is supported by constant annoying oral noise. Felicitări Sorana! 💪🏻🇷🇴 You have my support all the way to winning your first 1000 WTA title.👍🏻

The way Sabalenka plays is always going to be a bit hit and miss and today it was miss. She will still do well this year but showing your frustration only encourages the opponent. Good to see Cirstea maintain the excellent form she has shown in this tournament. if she can keep it going she has every chance of making the final.

I remember Sorana Cirstea making the QF of the French Open in 2009 and how happy I was for her in that moment. To think nearly 14 years later, here she is doing so well. Well done, she definitely has they staying power. So, so, so Happy for her!

Im Amazed! Id have said chances of Cirstea winning this were Zero to none! I think the conditions n air affected the ball and took away Sabalenka main weapons of pace n power! With everything else being equal Cirstea was able to win by her more variety of strokes and technical guile which is her usual game! Massive shock! Never seen Sabalenka so ordinary, think even she knew it wasn't going to be her day.😮😮
